Your mistake was the number of stitches you used up along the live edge, it was 3 for the main colour and 18 for the contrast. I know I made the same mistake but discovered it early enough to tink back.
ahh yes! it looks like i ended up forgetting to repeat row 39 and 40 twice more like listed for rows 51-74. im glad though because that means my stitch count should still be on point for the optional border. thanks for mentioning that. it does seem several people made that mistake!
Oh my! You have been doing an amazing job- I’m on Clue1 because my brioche had a hole in the middle somehow- I tried fixing it - didn’t work - so I have been frogging back - I find these MKALs are addictive and that’s what I enjoy 🤗 I will say once finished with a Stephen West MKAL I feel a sense of pride I started and finished even if not with in the 4 weeks
i totally agree! i feel so proud with a finished stephen west pattern, its so fun to learn new techniques. kudos for frogging, i would've been too lazy to do that and just mended the hole 😆
thanks! another viewer mentioned not having picked up enough at the cc pattern repeat. i pinned the comment but thats definitely what i did wrong. maybe you did the same
Yes. Too few short rows. It’s not a big deal when doing the additional clue. Just takes a bit of math. I was two stitches short in my triangles and I have three that have too many short rows.
My first MC triangle was good, but the CC is a different yarn and came out very sloppy. I can’t find my dps to switch to a smaller needle for the CC triangles, so I’m thinking of replacing clue three altogether. I think I’ll use an element from clue four instead of clue three. Thank you for the great production value of your video, it was informative and calm at the same time. Very watchable.
aww man, maybe you can do the "optional border" instead of the triangles! i think that should work with some mods to the stitch count. thank you so much for watching
I didn’t mind clue 3 too much, but I definitely felt like I was ready to be finished after those triangles! I ended up with too many stitches at the end of the section so now instead of triangles I have sort of a weird trapezoid at the end so at least yours are all identical shapes 😅 Luckily, I’m really liking clue 4 so far and the shape/size of the shawl!
I felt similarly about clue 3… it looks nice but I didn’t love knitting it. Glad it’s done 😊 I am really liking clue 4 & it is going quickly so this project can be done! I hope you have a great week.
Escarla, I was in the same boat!! I knitted a few more triangles than what the pattern said. I knitted more than 18 rounds! Which was devastating at the time! Lol I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. Maybe the pattern was wrong?
I agree with you clue 3 looks amazing but it was definitely not my favourite knitting…I ended up with 2 extra triangles 🙃not sure how that happened but it looks great anyway
Great troubleshooting on those triangles. I have to admit when I saw those, I was thankful I am working on other projects right now. 😂 Can't wait to see how it looks when it's finished! Thank you for sharing. 😊❤
Hi from Australia. 🇦🇺 I totally agree, mind numbing is a good description. I really like how it looks but it was slow and boring, glad it’s over and love all the different patterns in clue 4.
Love your colors! I agree clue 3 was not really enjoyable. I did minimum of 6 triangles a day, to break it up. Before I started Clue 3 I added stitch markers for every repeat across the row to make sure right count and stay on track. I been where you were before not fun. Great podcast!

You're doing great and you pulled off the 'mistake' correction really well. Well done for keeping up so far. Good luck for Clue 4!
Thanks so much!
I love the way this is coming out! I love the low contrast of your colors. Definitely above my skill level! Very impressed 👏🏻
thank you so much!!! you can totally do it, it really looks more complex than it actually is 😉

I love your vlog style. Such great b-roll and commentary also love your color grading very warm and cozy
Thank you so much 🙏🏽 best compliment
Love how yours has turned out. I also had extra triangles. I had an extra four.

Your colors are beautiful! It’s a slog but it will be worth having when finished!
Oh thank you! I’m glad I pushed through it

Good riddance clue 3!! I’m updating my pattern soon for clue 4. I can’t wait to see what’s happening!!!

Thankfully the extra triangles don’t look bad. No one will know 🤫

Thanks! Haha you definitely saved yourself a lot of repetition 🥴

Hi!!! I’m glad it’s over too. Here we go clue 4 🏃🏽♀️
Looks amazing! I’m only about 1/3rd way through Clue 3 and it’s feeling like a bit of a slog. Looking forward to finishing as it does look beautiful
Push through it! The end result is worth the pain 😅
I’ve been trying to get the last 3 repeats done for the past 2 days. Maybe today is the day! 😅
it was a sloggg. clue 4 is so exciting thooo
