Fun fact for everyone: the idea of unicorns (or at least the idea of horses with one singular horn on their head) were based on old armour designs made by ancient warriors that were used for their horses in battle, the armour had a singular blade or horn on the front of the helmet so that if the riders horse charged right next to an enemy warrior, the enemy would get impaled by the blade or at least injured enough from any large wounds enough to the point they would accidentally fall of their own horse and bleed to death, it was only later on in human history that the whole "helmet with horn" thing caused people to make stories and stuff about "mythical horses with singular horns", and eventually, general media decided to add on the magical or "girly" motifs like unicorns using magic with their horns and stuff that we see in unicorns in media

TLDR: the first concepts of a unicorn were from special armour horses in ancient times wore that had horns on them used to impale enemy riders.
