I'm not sure how popular Japanese music is outside of Japan, but I think part of it might simply be that Roman language speakers can't read the titles or even some artist names without a translation, so it's harder to remember artists, titles, etc. I personally can't read Kana (?) so I have to put in a lot more effort to discover and keep track of the music I like. Even for this song, I pretty much remember which one it is by the last couple of characters サー (yes I know the song is Asian Dancer, but I had to use Google Translate to find that out), and unfortunately Spotify won't let me put an alias or translation on the songs, so the only ones I can add English translations to the titles/artists/albums are songs I have personally bought/downloaded mp3s for. Otherwise, I just remember some of the characters, sometimes album name + artist depending how many songs I have from them, etc. It isn't straight forward. It's totally worth it for FCP. I think Spotify recommended them to me while I was looking for music to go with MELTY BLOOD and Under Night In Birth. And wouldn't you know, it all fits perfectly.

Last year, April, to be precise, I discovered the music of Meiko Kaji, through her art, I have had an amazing journey discovering music from Japan: Masayoshi Takanaka, Casiopea, Minamino Yoko, City Pop, Future Funk, Vapour Wave, World Order, Toyko Jihen, Blu-Swing and now Fox Capture Plan. What a beautiful journey, so far...
i almost had a heart attack when i heard this song play on that video lol. i'm a huge fan of this band. if you're interested in more of their music, i would suggest starting with their album, butterfly! :D
