This is Dino, lead developer for this aircraft... a couple of notes: - the "missiles" are actually smokewinders. At least for the initial release, aircraft will have fuel tanks and smokewinders only. - "twitchy" handling and general flight model... well, the test team included M-346 pilots and engineers, and in general feeback was quite good. Aircraft handling is designed to mimic 4.5-5th gen fighters. - we will check the bouncy front gear, but it may well be beacause of the loads has been applied: the methos used (all the sliders forward) causes an complete imbalance on the pitch axis. Token weights (by heart) are 220 lbs for smokewinders (STA 1 2 6 and 7) and 350 lbs for fuel tanks (STA 3 4 5). Typically just 2 smokewinders are mounted. - after wing tanks are mounted, extra fuel can be loaded on EXTERNAL 1 and 2 (external center tank cannot be loaded due to MSFS interface limits) - the aicraft has no tactictal/weapons function - basic autopilot modes are implemented and working ...and all MFDs pages have full subpages (very close to the real flight manual)
The stall and tuck under dynamics I’m fairly sure aren’t accurate. I’ve never flown a swept wing aircraft that does it, and mostly you just get buffet and maybe some wing rock. Though I’m sure this is an MSFS limitation as their dynamics suck!
Manual is not yet complete. As for the stall, at least some of what you see is due to thr fact that there is the default fly by wire (with stall protection) in the middle... there are some problems with near-stall behavior and post-stall controllability (which is too good at the moment), but again most of these are due to the built-in fly by wire system. According to the real world pilots however, general flight characterics are not far from the real planes... including engine thrust (which seemed a bit overpowered to us too... but seems not far off - although take off run is shorter than irl). Smokewinders are non functional in Beta versions - they will be functional at release (or at least on the first update).

And yes, I did see the Tonka news. Was really hoping it would be an RAF version but then nothing. They really need a GR4 and then I’d be in my element!
@@cgaviator Funny you mention that. The first thing I said to my squadron mates was they'd better have an RAF skin for it. I'm led to believe there will be the pink Gulf skin available on release, so there is hope. Plus it needs to be loaded with a JP233! Now that was a weapon and a half...or 2 halves if you'd like. Plus it needs to be able to carry the triple lgb. 2,000 lbs of big boom delivered low level onto its target with laser precision. That would work well in airfield attack missions 😁
Hello. Does it have the option to have a visible pilot in the cockpit, while flying from in it ? It is a thing now. Most devs now, give us the option to have a pilot to make a shoulder camera angle video for example. Their F35 has that
I know what you mean. Sometimes simply using custom cameras makes the pilot appear (mostly DC Designs). A way around this is to save over the Preset external cameras and place them inside the cockpit.
@@cgaviator DC Designs is giving us the option long ago with this. I didn't write their name, out of respect for your IFT video. It has the jet exhaust effect if that’s what you mean, not sure why it’s not showing up as well in the video. I avoided evening as I’m not sure if the night lighting is ready for demo. But I’ll take a look in future videos
Any chance you could do some in-depth walkthroughs on this aircraft with regards to *setting up* an ILS approach , Navigation etc? I'm finding it totally non-intuitive!
@@cgaviator @cgaviator I did but what wasn't explained (or perhaps I didn't catch) was at what speed the AP will disconnect, which buttons to click - and when - and what I should be looking for in the readouts. A quick tutorial on setting up the ILS approach frequencies would have been useful too. With mine it seems to disconnect at around 150 knots which means I'm having to get stable *very* early and 'speed' in (which I find quite uncomfortable!). I'm currently MSFS but ex DCS and Falcon 4.0 - so I'm broadly familiar with HUD markings and how it behaves, but still found it hard to follow. I'm guessing that folk with minimal experience in Mil jets might be lost! Cheers and thanks for the great videos. I'll try, try again. :)
@@AdminVortex762 I’m not sure why it disconnects. Maybe it is a speed thing. Every jet I’ve flown wasn’t permitted to do an auto coupled ILS anyways. Top tip, start at the right altitude and range for the final approach fix on the charts. Then set the flight path marker to the glideslope of the approach, also on charts. The rest should be very small adjustments and monitoring.
What i noticed immediately after landing was the "bumpy" front wheel contact point. No idea why developers always have struggle with that. Its so easy to fix...but well..its a beta i know.
@@cgaviator IFT don't generally make great flight models. Compare their T-45 to JF's Hawk, for e.g. Basically the same aircraft IRL, but so different in the sim that I avoid the T-45 at almost all costs. But, Asobo's new Aero Model for the sim itself is based on Computational Fluid Dynamics (though vastly simplified so it can work in real-time on a home PC) . And it should make it MUCH easier for devs to get a great flight model. It's essentially their direct competitor to X-Plane's Blade Element Theory (the Thing that makes XP addons fly so nicely). Still only available on just a couple addons (C172 G1000, Bonanza Mod, etc.), but makes a world of difference in how they fly. Would love to see JF's Hawk updated, too ;)
IndiaFoxTecho do treally good job on these small jets. If they follow their pattern it'll probably get into DCS as an actual module eventually. I'm already planning to pick up the Mb 339 as soon as it's released, since that's my favourite jet in FS 2020 (and the free DCS version they did ages back was also really well appreciated). It looks like this one can carry its' own tpod which would makefor a really cool little strike fighter. Might pick this one up in FS2020 for something in between the 339 and lightning in feel. I have the F14 and F15 but in FS2020 they don't seem to actually be very fun to fly, mostly because of the awful, awful autopilot modelling. Also a HSI with map and waypoints listed, yes please!
Fun little Jet, flight model is good actually... However the AP implementation of the ILS is sadly bugged.. tried dozens of different locations but the glideslope and LOC capture is horrible.. FD does show on the CDI and you can partially get on path but the glide path is terrible.. either puts you into the ground or just doesn't work at all.. HNAV gets you lined up okay but soon as you hit APP and LOC it all goes haywire.... But if a shame as its a great little Jet.. fortunately I got this on the Sept sales on MSFS market so was not a huge loss and is still fun to fly manually...
@@paulcrocker7347 AP has always been buggy by fast jets.L sadly. I fly this sucker manually in the pattern. Check out my ILS video with it as I think my ILS AP didn’t work in that either lol
Just so people know, you have everything if you buy the plane from the marketplace as well (for now). They maybe have found a way to bypass the "no weapon" policy by calling them "smoke pods" (they really emit smoke). Hopefully it will stay that way cause i'm tired of seeing those planes "naked" when i fly them.
Nothing wrong about it though. While you can't use all the systems you still have the pleasure to fly these beautiful birds all around the world. Personally, i wanted to become a fighter pilot just because i wanted to fly these birds, never thought of destroying things with them. MSFS is perfect for me. I wish people could stop saying that fighters don't belong in the sim (DCS propaganda most of the time) cause it's the exact opposite. Everyone can have fun

Awesome video, thank you! Does the M346 have a FLIR option on the MFD?
I didn’t look to be honest. I’m not sure if the real one has FLIR
Great video, ant this bird looks really nice! 😍
I have no idea what it is,the thing with the external cameras that you are saying.
About the custom ones with DC,that i know
But you haven't answered my question.
I take that as NO ?
@@AirGreekDespotas as they have coded it, no, you can’t from what I’ve seen, be internal camera with the pilot figure. That may change, and I have done much testing, so that’s as good an answer as I’ve got I’m afraid
How do you get your scenery to look this good?? Last time I played flight sim if didnt look this nice
Sliders to 100 ish, most settings at least High, that's kinda it. Sometimes it depends where you fly from.
So indiafoxtecho said that that arent weapons, they are smokewinders. They also told me, that the way to use them is in the manual, i can nowhere find it in the manual. Also it isnt in the checklist from what ive seen. Do You maybe know how to use them?
No, sadly not yet. I’ll ask when I’m back. Is there an MSFS smoke key bind?
Omg yes. I love supersonic light attack aircraft.
Oh yeah
when will they release this? this is in msfs, right?
Check their social media for updates. I don’t think anything is confirmed
In your video which is great where do you talk about ils nav. I’m struggling to find where that is and how to activate hog mode.
There is a video where I fly it to ILS minimums and I may talk about it in that video. I can’t remember off the top of my head I’m afraid
Great model! It lacks the warm air effect from the engines. Please show the cockpit and instruments in the evening light in the next video.
It has the jet exhaust effect if that’s what you mean, not sure why it’s not showing up as well in the video. I avoided evening as I’m not sure if the night lighting is ready for demo. But I’ll take a look in future videos
@@cgaviator Later in the video I noticed the warm exhaust effect. Please make a video in the evening with the instruments illuminated.
Awesome video.
Thanks 👍🏻
Really nice aircraft.
Any chance you could do some in-depth walkthroughs on this aircraft with regards to *setting up* an ILS approach , Navigation etc? I'm finding it totally non-intuitive!
Have you watched my ILS video with this aircraft where I fly it to minimums?
Dino already commented that they’ll take a look. If you watch the taxi into the runway I look at it from the outside. They’ll fix it 👍🏻
I have this Jet and love to Fly in the Swiss Alps. Its Small and Agile with plenty of Power. All you need to rock in the Mountains........
Absolutely!
Looks really, really good... is the rear seat also reproduced?
Good point, should have jumped back there. It is 👍🏻
Is it multicrew like some of the DCS mods or is it just that you can sit in the rear cockpit?
@@Bbuzz8393 just that you can sit rear cockpit. I’m not sure if MSFS plans to bring that functionality
@@cgaviator Thanks for the response. It looks like a great mod.
Could I buy one for weekend flying in UK
Don’t see why not! 😄
Will there be Yak-130 version?
I haven’t heard rumour of it but check their social media for the source info 👍🏻
Great looking jet
Looks like a great little jet, will have to see release version reviews.
Flight model looks typical...hopefully they'll add CFD at some point.
CFD? I’ll do some more with updated versions. Though I’m confident they’ll update it and fix everything that comes to light.
Would love to see JF's Hawk updated, too ;)
@@urgentsiesta7606 ah, thanks for the info on CFD, interesting stuff!
All of that ☝🏻 yes! 😁
It is interesting to put the mathematics to what one does naturally, learning is never a bad thing 😉
😅 Keeps the brain sharp!
This, or better still the Kai T-50B, would make a great replacement for the Hawk IMO.
Check out my ILS video with it as I think my ILS AP didn’t work in that either lol
it is confirmed? when is the release dated?
Confirmed? Release should be soon
Agreed! I’d check on social media feeds to make sure
when an F-18 and a T26 goshawk fall in love
Haha, a few people have commented combinations! I reckon Alpha Jet and Rafale!
COOL
I really like the looks of this jet.👍🏻 Hope they will address the twitchy handling and bouncing behaviour with external stores.
I’m sure they will, they’re very good at fixing/updating 👍🏻
Does this have a collimated HUD?
Sorry for the late reply, was on holiday. Yes, collimated
where to purchase this aircraft?
Not yet released. Check their social media feeds
All those tactical systems, refuel probe and guccie kit but all you can use these military A/C for in MSFS is fly a couple of circuits lol
Ah yes, but the scenery is epic! 😅
@@cgaviator it does look epic!
Everyone can have fun
does it have cannon?
Not that I know of
Looks great, not sure if it will make it to Xbox.
It uses a lot of video memory, might be a few months till they see it.
If it uses more video memory than the F-35, it likely won’t be on Xbox.
I believe they will simplify it for the Xbox like they did with the F35
@@cgaviator Actually they didn't. The module came out on Xbox the same day and has the same complex systems. They also announced that since it worked so well on this one, they might rework the F35 on Xbox to include more stuff. So, it's great on Xbox as well!
@@MadX8 excellent! 👍🏻

Yup and yup!
I'd like IFR capability, including ILS! And an autopilot.
You’re in luck - it has all that!
@@cgaviator It sure does! I bought the M346 on the first day of its release and it is fabulous! But I need some more detailed explanation of the nav systems. This video is a really helpful introduction and I'm really grateful for it, but I'm sure more could be said!
Hope it makes it to Xbox looks a stunning aircraft
Usually IFE aircraft are on Xbox, soon or later ! But not before SU10
One of the reasons this is releasing once SU10 arrive I believe.

@@cgaviator When things were really good times... an aircraft I've been in many times, from the age of about 11 LOL... Well things were a lot different back then, and us kids would often get to go see the old man on a Sunday when they were at our home bases, and down here, whenever it was quiet, we'd often talk our way into a flight on whatever aircraft they were with LOL.
The old Fairey Gannets were awesome, man, what a view! I've also flown in the range of Harriers GR 5, GR 7, GR 9 also the Sea Harrier. @@MadX8 is that true, DCS vs MSFS usage? Never really thought about it
@@MadX8 Its pointless to make military aircraft for a simulation that specifically designed for Airliners and general aviation in my opinion and their flight models are not even realistic... aside from the VRS Superbug (Which also would be better for DCS).
