The 2009 Toy shop was the first like "normal" set i got for Christmas Eve, as i usually got some Technic sets. I wasn't so sure about at first since i was always Technic kid, but it grew on me in time and i live it. It started my interest in Winter Village sets and Modualr buildings too.
I actually kinda miss those first waves of stes, they were smaller buildings. Modern new sets look great but they're huge and overshadow older sets

Aww I wish I was a collector back when these started! I would absolutely love to have the Christmas train for my son. But I just adore all of the sets. Thank you for this special inside look!
2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 are on a different level. The vibes, the colors, the minifigures, the accessories….they’re hard to top.

I have Main St. I want to motorize the Trolley for Christmas this year and put some train tracks down in my winter village.
I wish these were brought back for us Adults late to PLAY. Even used on Ebay the prices are jacked too high. I made a deal with a devil and got Gingerbread House & Elf Clubhouse...plus Alpine Lodge. I want the train!!! (And let's be honest: nearly every other one you just showed :))

I thought that in 2008 the original holiday train was released, maybe not officially a winter village set, but it was re=released later...which I'm glad happened, saved me some $$! I have them all.
