ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From Michael Schur, executive producer of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Parks and Recreation," comes a smart, unique new comedy that follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, "House of Lies," "Veronica Mars"), an ordinary woman who, through an extraordinary string of events, enters the afterlife where she comes to realize that she hasn't been a very good person. With the help of her wise afterlife mentor (Ted Danson, "Bored to Death," "Cheers"), she's determined to shed her old way of living and discover the awesome (or at least the pretty good) person within.

oh my god. She did end up being in charge of the bad place in a way. man this show
Anabear and Micheal became human
And Elanor's last moments were in the wilderness. But Skrillex didn't show up at the door, at least...though, one could say that Jason spent an eternity waiting for a spiritual bass to drop.
And Chidi was effectively the same (post character development) everywhere he went. Good place, bad place, medium place, he found his own hell in all of them, but he still grew and improved in all of them. (At least until they fixed the real good place).
@@roguishpaladin Although he did spend, like, a thousand jeremy bearimies or so in the wilderness in a meditative state -- he came so close to spiritual oneness, he didn't need the bass to drop: he grew beyond the need for drops.
I like that it got turned on its head though. She didn’t simply cheat by “speaking to the manager” but “started from the bottom and worked her way up” by starting as the architects’ “coffee” intern.
Shawn texts like a teenage girl, I can't even
But can you odd?
@@rohanlotlikar3400 😑😑😑😑😑
How much can't could a white girl can?
If a white girl couldn't can't even
@@rohanlotlikar3400 ba dum tss
Tahani decided to Karen her way out of hell
And the fact that in the long run it WORKED keeps me up at night
And she won
We don't really talk about how this plan was Tahani's idea
Tahani is underestimated alot, yeah. Worse than Jason.
We don't your right
It makes so much sense for me because I feel like in a lot of ways this show can function as an allegory for America - if the constructs are the symbols.
Jason's hell does sound pretty bad. I'm not even a Skrillex fan, but it would still be hell.
Okay but also imagine the unending build. Would probably be either deafeningly loud or high pitched or both.
A Skrillex concert with a drop would still be hell. Mainly because I really don’t like Skrillex
Jeremy Ryan
Listening to Skrillex is hell enough for me 😭😭😭
Or maybe it would get real close to dropping and just suddenly switch over to classical music at the last second
Jason's hell tho. LOL
Obito Uchiha his hell is my hell I would have a lot of anxiety from no drop
Obito Uchiha Aka my school ;-;
Dude Michael should have taken that on board for torturing jason
Such a gem of a show
"Attempt something futile with a ton of unearned confidence and fail spectacularly"
Well that kinda sum up everything they did. Going to the judge to win their case? Failed. Going to earth to win their place to the Good Place? Failed. Helping the humans? Failed. Proving the Bad Place was cheating with the points? Failed. Proving other humans can improve in the after life? I hope they don't fail this one.
Cataldo?
I think helping the humans were kinda successful, at least in regard to Pillboi, Eleanor's mom, and Kamilah
Hotel? Trivago
Helping the humans did work, though. As did proving that most other humans can in fact improve after death (with the exception of Brent, and even his posthumous downward spiral was sharply curtailed by his last-second apology).
The answer to that last part is the definition of task successful unsuccessfuly.
Honestly the way shawn text proves he is a true demon made of oure evil
1:08 you’re welcome
1:09
Y is this show sooooo gooood!?
I have a feeling Chidi's laugh wasn't acting...it was his real laugh :P
i like how michael took the lighter than an feather concept and turned it into an hot air balloon!
then sowed the seeds of self doubt with, "only the best version of yourself".
its even funnier now because that might actually be true 6 years later...😃
why don't they try the appeals process!? that in itself is comedic gold right there
🤣
WHEN IS THE NEW SEASON STARTING?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
2:13
They probably had the end of the show written at this point.
The final place is a camping spot, and Elaenor’s home has that massive sweeping vista view.
Tahani runs her own neighborhood as an architect.
Jason spends an eternity of waiting for a single moment of satisfaction that may never come.
Chidi tortures himself even when they fix the good place, staying well past his time for Eleanor’s sake.
And Michael becomes human.
Now compare it to how they started in the pilot episode. Janet points out in the finale, that Jason lived like a monk for a while. Eleanor's fake identity that she thought got her into the Good Place in season 1 was as a lawyer helping innocent people out of jail. Tahani spent most of season 1 trying to make the Good Place neighborhood better for everyone. And Chidi was teaching everyone morals and ethics. And that's literally how they ended up in the series finale - actually doing the things they were only pretending/trying to do at the beginning of the series.
Honestly I think they had everything planned out from the beginning. Everything just fits so neatly together when you compare it all.
@@josephwodarczyk977 They definitely did. It's weird that it's surprising to anyone but that's how crappy TV has been up until now.
2:14
Well they literally have less than nothing to lose
Jason drinking his wine out of red cup is really...... that's the perfect detail.
Attempt something futile with a ton of unearned confidence and fail spectacularly..... 😂😂😂
Can’t get enough of Eleanor saying “hibbledy dibbledy”
1:08
Eleanor: “you’re probably going to run the place in a week...”
In a way... she’s kinda predicting the series finale lol
1:04 foreshadowing
i just love kristen bell
Tahani: The Hero
Eleanor: The Warrior
Chidi: The Professor
Jason: The Jester
Oooh Hibbley Dibbley
I hope this season ends with another plot twist like in the first season!
It did! :)
This series goes through a plot twist roughly once every 3 to 4 episodes.
@@VelvetCondoms More like once every episode
the plot twists so much that its basically a Jeremy Bearimy
Wag a finger at disapprovingly
1:08 everyone's laugh is genuine 🤣🤣
so random 😂
Shawn using the Face with Tears of Joy Emoticon was a bit ooc
And I mean of course demons use emoticons.
it made me laugh so hard though omg
Nah. It was irritating to everyone else -- that's totally in character for Shawn
That's the joke
Jason's hell would be hell for me because I hate EDM.
MAKE ELHANI REAL
The best couple ever😄😍
I know I'm super late to the party, but I just have to say I am loving Ted Danson. Adorable.
my prediction - the judge will be Amy Poehler.
Lol it was Maya Rudolph!
Sooooo close. Another alum of early-2000s SNL
nope its maya rudolph
Amy Poehler or Tina Fey would've been awesome, but Maya Rudolph knocked it out of the park.
@Joy Wang Oh, we already got Ben. :-P And hey, we had a Nick Offerman appearance, too, so that was pretty fun.
*IT'LL NEVER COME*
KeViN!? Why the hex are you doing in HELL!?! CAPTAIN HOLT WILL BE DEVESTATED!
I'll be waiting for the bass drop and it--- 😫😩--- it'll never come.
In this same scene they dance to a song called Unforgettable by Nat King Cole. Fitting as how Chidi gets his memory wiped :0 ;_;
🍜
Someone please tell me how Michael got through the portal to the judge without a pin?
xpuddingx11 he did. he probably took Shawn’s after Janet beat him up
@@dlmbs Janet beating Shawn up was epic
1:04 Well...she wasn't wrong
At first I thought, "Why would they neer autocorrect? Isn’t this the afterlife?"
Then I remembered. This is the Bad Place
Well san judas is not a saint for nothing
Get mad, demand to see hell's manager
its the ✨✨so random ✨✨ for me
I love how he says "fail spectacularly".
What was tahani's hell
1:06 I love this imitation LUL
Funny how, though now legal, tv would rather have characters get drunk rather then stoned. Why?
How ironic, especially when dealing with Logic and Reasoning, in the GP.... lol
As they say with tv- (.aside from being a vast wasteland, ( is this Life imitating art or art imitating Life? - either way, to not mainstream pot is hypocritical and irresponsible.
The second barrier should be)
Getting stoned "isn't* legal federally. It's legal in some states, but not all. However, TV hasn't had a problem having the occasional character get high. Alcohol is far more pervasive in society. And, let's be honest, none of these characters are the type who would be into pot. The closest character in the group would be Jason, but he's more likely to be caught with basically any other drug. Eleanor likes her liquor too much, Tahani likes fine wine too much, and Chidi...well, some intellectuals might indulge in pot, but not indecisive ones.
Also, while I respect that pot has been unfairly demonized over the years, "to not mainstream pot is hypocritical and irresponsible," is too far. Let people who want it have it, but don't go trying to build up an expectation that everyone should do it. I'd like to see people be less dependent on mind-altering substances in general. We shouldn't be slaves to impulse, whether it be pot, alcohol, cigarettes, or high fructose corn sugar.
