    We in North have far love and respect for our Vijaynagar empire kings heritage. And nothing but hate and disgust for the muslim invader looters here that descended into North in 1200 after 500 yrs of trying.
    South should also understand that North bore most of the islamic attack brunt and it was the defeat of Muhammad Tughlaq at the hands of Rana Hammir Singh of Mewar that allowed Harihara and Bukka to proclaim their independence and establish their own Hindu empire.

    So true. Indian students academics have more of battle of panipat where Mughals invaded India and big chapters of Mughal emperors , Delhi sultanate and all but when it come to history of Vijayanagara it is just half page in text books. Battle of Talikota of 1565 is the biggest turning point for South Indian history. It’s completely neglected in text books. Strong Vijayanagara empire constantly stoped Muslim invaders for many years going further south to Tamilnadu. This helped us to preserve those amazing temples down south in Tamilnadu.

    There was a remarkable sage named Vidyaranya (his name means forest of knowledge). It was his mission and plan to set up a hindu kingdom. When Harihara and Bukka came along, he found two people who could act on this plan. He was their guru and the city, the Vijaynagar location is based on many vedic indications etc.... So in short, Vijaynagar was absolutely Hindu built according to Vedic indications and explicitly with the motive to defend hinduism.

    Vijayanagara's flag had Varaha the Wild Boar- a anathema to Islam. So no use denying Vijayanmagara was a pagan Hindu Resistance against Islamic Imperialism and perhaps saved South India from the fate of Indonesia ie complete Islamisation. It is not Hindu Nationalists who have the need to deny this but Marxist historians who cannot admit a Cultural axis. The hindu resistance to Islamisation continued under Marathas. The mistake both empires did was to eventually over time forget their raison detere and lose the Ideological vision. Vijayanagara fell mostly due to failure to recognize Islamic Exp[expansionism. The Muslim generals defected during the crucial battle of maniktola- something Kesler fails to mention.Was it a oversight? Yes- if only Vijayanagara failed to understand the last battle as a Jihad against Infidels- the defection to Combined Sultanate side right during battle by Muslim generals along with soldiers they commanded destroyed the empire,. Marathas later and even Sikhs will repeat this mistake.This isnt a Nationalist narrative but Native pagan narrative, quite consistent with Islamic Imperialism' long persistent Jihad right upto birth of Pakistan.

      Seems your over simplifying the whole thing.
      Moslem empires and "Moslem" kings fought with one another just the same as Hindu and Sikh ones did. Thats all it was. A clash of empires. Religions played a big part, however they are merely one of the ingredients but certainly not the KEY ingredient.
      Empire vs empire vs empire vs empire vs empire vs empire.
      Yet your own confirmation bias would have people believe that it was Moslem vs Hindu and nothing else.

    • @hinduhistory1407
      @hinduhistory1407 6 років тому +14

      Thunder Foot
      You are right that it was all empire vs empire...Hindus fought each others too so did Muslims..
      However MUSLIMS did use religion as a cover for all the atrocities...when Hindus fought each other they did not destroy temples, commit genocides, rapine...Muslims were doing that with each other and they did it to non-muslims too..but they use ISLAM while doing it..

    • @ThoseWhoHeedTheCall
      @ThoseWhoHeedTheCall 6 років тому +5

      Hindu History
      You are right.
      The problem with Muslims is that whatever they do, it MUST be justified in their religion. Or else they cannot do them.
      Now the issue comes when you have evil individuals or evil regimes, who will still use religion, somewhat distorted as much as they can to fit their agenda, and then use that to justify their evil.
      All of those atrocities committed were hardly permissible in the Islamic faith, but religion is often used as a cover to justify evil.
      Blame the people, not the faith.

This is what is done by the Communist-influenced education that suppresses unity among Indians and any pride in our culture.

    The biggest piece missing from this narrative is the monumental role of Swami Vidyaranya in guiding the two brothers in establishing a Hinduism-based empire by uniting all the fallen Hindu kingdoms of south India. They did not need the model of an empire from the Delhi sultanate, there have been several vast empires throughout India's Hindu history. It's absurd to think that native Hindus didn't know how to build an empire.

    Where ever Islam and Christianity ruled, they converted the masses, the nation and the region into their own religion except in India, where the indigenous religion of Sanatan Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Shiks still make 80% and the sole reason is people like krishnadev raya and other Hindu rulers who fought on the invaders till the last.

    When I studied the history of European exploration -to be more specific -the history of the Portuguese "discovery" of the route to India I heard mention of this great city and empire which was still intact when the Portuguese arrived in India but both city and empire were subsequently destroyed by rival kingdoms.

    Brilliantly put. Indeed the Indian history was clearly not Hindus vs Muslims alone! This narrative is politically milked in modern day India.

    If the uploader of this video was Indian, he would know for sure that those invaders from central Asia did demolish cities and temples for valuables, women and slaves. I have nothing against muslims, but it is a historical fact. Were thousands not executed in Delhi after it was annexed by one of the muslim kings? I am just giving an example but it happened in other cities too. It was a tactic to force people to submit to the new regime.

    Referring to your point; vijaynagar v/s bahamani sultanate fight being projected as Hindus v/s Muslim fight by the nationalists. I feel some hundred years down the line India and Pakistan conflict would also be viewed as Hindu v/s Muslim conflict though Indian army also employes Muslims soldiers.

    With all due respect, i feel somewhere actual history in terms day to day life, geopolitics, statecraft, social stratifications, army, visitor's accounts, etc is being missed with emphasis on communal angle along with present nationalist vs others'debate. Would request more historical perspective than what present nationalists or others say...... Anyways, you're video's are really helpful and informative.
