He did not make this call on his show. He is saying from the very bottom on Aug 27 to current on Sept 24 - using the continuous contract (NG=F) - the gain is 40%. Also, there is a bit of fiction with these numbers. The natural gas continuous contract does not reflect trading reality because of seasonality and contango. Using the October 24 natural gas contract for this period the gain only 22%. UNG - which you can easily trade - was up about 21% during this period. Still a nice trade but not 40%.
