Congrats on the new HMMWV. I myself am just starting a new build on a M1165 from the auction. Was a non runner but all it needed was a little love and fired right up. Your new truck looks solid and should be lots of fun to use with family. Enjoy and cant wait for the build.

Right here with you man. Love the concept. Built not bought. In my case as a former helicopter tech in the Army, I've dreamed of building a humvee for over 5 years. Finally bought mine off gov planet. Should receive in the next couple of months.

Make sure you don't use the factory military seatbelts for the kids, they don't have a lock feature and will not restrain for small kids (under 100lbs). You can find manually adjusting ones for about $30/ea. that will work fine, though.

hey man. im here for your journey. im on the exact same journey lol. I have a M1123. currently done with the 4 man soft top conversion. I have to replace body panels because the doors won't line up lol. HMMWVs are a trip.
It's like putting together a puzzle, but you kinda have to make your own pieces as you go.

Bro, that battery disconnect will kill your smart box.
How is it different than unhooking the battery before removing the box? I’m asking because I don’t know lol.
@@theOKHumvee keyed ignitions will also kill your $1,000 box. They just aren’t heavy duty enough. There are other fuel cut off solutions you can get from black dog customs (keyed). The owner of that company told me to also stay away from battery disconnects.
