I own a 2019 TRD Long bed, 2 inch lift ,rock sliders and full armor under neat , plus skid diff plates and a rear tailgate hitch w/ skid plate.. We can go everywhere a short bed can go.. We are shoreline (Hawaii) fisherman..Son’s 2016 is a shortbed..lava trail roads..
I love the long bed ! So much more practical and useful , I think it looks better too than the sawed off short shanked 5’ box ( those are for the hard core off road crowd mostly) Great truck ! Looking at the 2022’s right now , I wish I could still get that cement color.
Karl Urban ahh I see a little different in CA, Tacoma sales are extremely high! They look great but I’d consider the Ram as it really surprised me with all the new tech it has. Just depends on how reliability will stack up and amount of recalls. Keep an eye out for the upcoming Tundra model since it will be setting the standard as it did back in 07’
I found out how much more desirable the long bed is, I found like 5 long bed cement off roads, I was a day late every single time, until I found one before it was even posted for sale, do you find it that is really rare to find them ? Mine is a 2019 Tacoma trd off road long bed 4x4
@jefferylorance7988 Yea I have a long bed now and agree I can take more. Harder to park and more expensive for a bigger bed I'll only need maybe 4-5 times a year.
Tuan Win No this unit sold shortly after this video. 2019 units are pretty much all sold out. If you are lucky, you might find a nice 19’ 4x4 with decent interior color
I'm currently scoping a few of them and I don't want a fake scoop. Does it look cool? Yes but serve no purpose. I want an sr5 long bed but if the price is right, I may get the trd. Any tips?
Josue Brambila the SR5 is great, although try and get the package that gives you the blind spot monitor, it’s a really really nice feature to have. Right now is not a good time to buy if you’re looking for a deal on Tacoma inventory though but if you wait 3-4 months maximum then I’m sure you can get the TRD for similar price as you’d pay for the SR5 right now
Funny how you say its 39 grand cause of the technology package but you dont mention the $1,095 delivery fee that's included in there as well. Dealership delivery fees are your expenses and I shouldn't be paying for that.
Bruce Wayne Bruce oh Bruce, we get customers like you ALL the time that THINK that delivery fee is for us. If it was for us it would not be on the Monroney sticker rather on a separate paper. It is INCLUDED in the invoice. Talk to Toyota corporation if you think otherwise and see if they will take it off even though it’s already CHEAPER than what other manufacturers charge. Good luck.
@@luisrubiolr57 exactly or tell em that's fine the truck u want is 3 states over u can pay us amd go pick it up bet u spend week driving motels amd gas will be more than a 1000 dollars 🤣
Strange you opened this walk around with leasing terms and suggestions... Why would you lease a Tacoma? That completely defeats the point of purchasing a Tacoma to begin with. People buy these trucks for their long term reliability plain and simple.
Just got 2023 off road Trd love it
Buying one of these soon can’t wait. Need TRD Off road with long bed and double cab. Wish me luck
Wait for the Tundra.

No better joke than a dad joke.
I Love my 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed, with the premium and technology pkgs.
Yes it’s a year old but only 7,500 miles.
Great choice Doc!
Excellent review!
Damn I'm looking for one like that right now
They're hard to find but worth it especially the long bed!
Great review, great points! I sometimes wish I got this truck instead of my Tundra double cab Limited.
Karl Urban thank you! That’s pretty rare truck you have
@@luisrubiolr57 thank you! Fairly common in CT, but 4x more Tacoma! Do you like the new Silverado? Interested in your opinion.

@@luisrubiolr57 I misspoke. There are 4 times as many Tacoma's as there are Tundras here. Same nationally.

Son’s complaint..short bed cannot carry much gear vs my long bed …

Technology Package,
Duh, that’s the name.
That’s like asking what is the name for the Tacoma…
Fair review!
2018 4x4 off-road silver 🥰

$40,000 is actually fairly cheap for a truck these days.
Phil Harris yes all trucks and cars are overpriced
thats a beauty
Yes the color and all is great!!
Not a bad review but you were reaching on a few of your alleged selling points... a hood scoop blind spot? really?
devconk thanks! It is a blind spot when parking, made me want an off road instead (and crawl control).
