- I tried a Genshin Impact Hardcore Nuzlocke... This means that if a character is defeated in OR outside of combat, we can no longer use them. Also, we cannot use food of any kind.
I wasn't sure how hard this would be, so I set a couple goals for ourselves. The main objective was to defeat Dvalin without losing all of our characters. I can say that this did not go at all how I expected.
I enjoy trying out random challenges within Genshin, like my account where I use only Sword characters. If you enjoy my content, I'd love to have you stick around and become a regular here on the channel.

i remember the game being way harder when you literally know nothing of the game lol. it's probably just your game knowledge and experiences keeping you alive (and maybe the fact Noelle heals kinda makes her a bit too op for nuzlocks)
maybe if you wanna try something similar to this challenge again, try doing no healers. healers often makes genshin nuzlocks just practically too easy, so not using Noelle or waiting till you get a Barbara to use a healer can be an extra challenge
There's a Noelle main that I'm friends with, they're healing and DPS is really amazing, for a free 4* she's very underrated.

Here's a real challenge: No healers, no teleporting, ?no sprinting??, no statues of the seven after you unlocked them (turn off healing), you may only heal yourself at a restaurant using food you cooked
well, noelle is a battle healer, she literally can't heal unless she hits an enemy and on top of that, her skill has to be active and it's a chance to heal as long as her shield is up.
He says the noelle banner is not worth it but getting another constellation for Noelle is insane early, especially c2. I got C2 early, Noelle has and is still carrying me now with her well rounded kit. She is C6 and I love her all through out the game, rarely leaves my party
Definitely not because of Noelle - you can do Nuzlock with Traveller only at least until Inazuma with challenges in video and have minor problems at top

Random fact: Once i went to fight the pyro regisvine in coop and it’s name showed up as a “stonehide lawachurl” it even had the geo bar which you could deplete. For some reason it had 3 health bars, the one at the top of your screen (the normal boss one it also had a geo bar); one on it’s head (it wasn’t a “break the shield on it head” one) and the normal one at its roots. I took a screen shot and somehow it fired my burst for the character that wasn’t even on field. Idk why I shared this, but it is pretty interesting to see how weird genshin bugs are sometimes.

If you REALLY want a challenge, what about only using starter characters and you can only heal through level up books? Or you can only use the statue of seven to heal after you complete something? If all your four starter characters die at some point, you lose the game? Whatever wishes you get, maybe you can use on weapon banner to get better weapons for more damage.

Let me tell you 1 thing, next Time you try this, don't use Noelle, she gives a LOT of safety in the game, shield, heal, reach, emergency shield for allies, needing only Def to work great, i mean, she Is practically Made to babysit you in the start of your journey and then be replaced, (but she has a special place in our hearts)
she Is a 1 woman army, too good for this world
replace? I am AR 57 and she is still one of the characters i like to keep upgrading the artifacts. Even if i have hu tao, ganyu and ayaka.

When the main story finally ends (years from now), I'm going to make a new account, and run through the whole game with only the Traveler in battle. So seeing videos like these really helps me figure out what complications I'm going to face.

I got so confused on the rarity of characters when I first started playing. My first ever pull on the Noelle banner dropped 4 different characters, second gave me another new character and a first con. Then on my first pull on the Shenhe banner I got Jean.

I distinctly remember the game being difficult after the first two AR ascension challenge things. But I recently replayed and now I think the enemies are a lot less scary than early game. I remember thinking ruin guards were the scariest enemies lol.
Here’s a fun little story time: Noelle was my first four star, since I saw the beginner banner as, and I quote, “what a bargain!” So I got my Noelle, was happy, but didn’t wish on it again for a long time. I realized that you had to do another 10 pull in order to get rid of the banner, so I did. Got Jean and 2 fischls. Luckiest I’ve ever been!

I did a nuzlocke of this once, I got super lucky and got Diluc and Eula back-to-back in single wishes and I managed to get Xinqqiu for my freeze team. Tried to do the cryo cube but Xingqiu died before I could even beat it once. 10/10 would nuzlocke again.

Something cool about pokemon Nuzlocke is that you can only catch the first pokemon you encounter in each zone, maybe it can be fun to use only the first character you pull of each region (not including the free characters obviously) but maybe its too difficult....

I was considering doing a Nuzlocke with the following criteria:
- Traveler dying instantly ends the run
- No healing... Sort of. You get one heal per Statue: when you activate it for the first time. If a character would heal itself or teammates, it must be killed after the battle ends. And, well, no food. (which is the main hard portion)
- If you get a new character and you already have four team members, you must choose one of the characters to die. Because we don't like having options here.
- Must challenge and beat all Mondstadt bosses before AR18.
- Must challenge and beat all Liyue bosses, Dvalin, and the Wolf before AR21. (apparently the minimum was AR25 I thought it was 20 lol)
- Once combat is initiated, you can't run away. You must beat the enemy.
- No potions or food that will help in combat (food like Stamina outside of combat are fine)
you realize you can't fight dvalin before ar25 right? unless you mean the story mission version which is oneshot with the trial venti you get
Add more rules pls:
No healing in Statue
You can’t send “dead” characters in expeditions, same with cooking, and other stuff
You can’t raise dead characters for fates
Leveling up is only allowed with the boss’s level(for example, dvalin that is level 40 so that characters should also be level 40)
Food that gives buffs are allowed IN BATTLE(healing items are only allowed outside of battle)
Still feels like overstatting it, I remember beating most bosses quite easily up to and after Childe at lv20 with only 1-3* gear

Hey java! Huge fan of your content here. I just wanted to make a quick suggestion if you ever try this again to make it more challenging (and potentially more enjoyable for the viewers)
1. No fast travel. If you weren't able to teleport away when something happens and you are at risk of losing a character (like your first attempt against the cryosvine when you realized you were under leveled.) Seeing you find a way to power through it and potentially lose a character or 2 would have been a lot more exciting.
2. Only use the worst weapons available (like the dull sword)
3. Use only characters you pull for, not the ones the game gives you (maybe excluding traveler) hell, maybe you could try a traveler only challenge.
4. Set more goals for yourself. The self imposed ones you came up with were great! But adding stuff like no healing or only being able to heal by traveling on foot to a statue would fit more in line with traditional hardcore nuzlockes.
I know you have like 3 accounts you're trying to juggle, but I think this is an awesome idea for new content since people have become more familiar with Nuzlockes. It's also very original. I think you could do a lot with it. (:

I started doing coop domains recently and being the klee main I am I love burning grass, I once killed a Noelle then they told me it was a nuzlocke acc, felt bad but it is what it is
this shows what i've always thought when ever i see a genshin nuzlocke, the entire point of a nuzlocke is that you have to be super careful but all of the threats of genshin impact come from you other not paying attention or being under leveled, both things that are a product of your own mistake and are in no way the game being difficult so it becomes very hard to have any sort of eventfulness in a nuzlocke unless you actively go out and seek the danger

Man. Absolutely love the idea, though I feel like one missed opportunity was setting the bar a little too low.
I feel like setting up a good Nuzlocke Goal would be reaching the summit of Dragonspine - as you do have access to that very early.
Thanks to Sheer Cold and a lot of little tricks that Dragonspine has within it, it certainly is suited to be the Nuzlocke Endgame.

Pretty sure those quest markers show up in Liyue because in the early days of the game the markers are linked to the door of the room you're in during a couple of quests, and so it shows the location of the room under the map until you leave, and then it goes to its outside-of-room location.
I am crying for you spending your fates and primes on the kokomi banner and Bennett is like the best healer and buffer in the whole game
"I remember lawachurls being a lot harder in the early game" probably because early game you don't see them often and when you do they're one of the first big shielded enemies.
as for Lisa's quest mark being all the way in Liyue, if you're in a closed instance (like the KoF building or the church) that's not part of the open world, sometimes the quest tracker will bug out and give u a random place as a marker, this also happens if you have another quest marked in another part of the world (like Chasm or Enka) but you're still in Teyvat

With the whole Noelle banner thing, generally it's a very good idea to get it done. Firstly you do save 4 fates, secondly there's a slightly higher chance of a 5 star. I got Mona on the first ten pull on the banner, at 4 pity.

I feel like having a guarenteed noelle is super helpful in the short term, as you are nearing liyue and lack any greatswords or geo, your only guarenteed option for breaking geo sheilds being traveler that really cant keep up with regenerating sheilds without memories, or doing lisa +charged shot amber like I did.
that... and having any healer for stormterror where you cant actually pause to menu eat.
What needs to happen here is add more rules like all pokemon nuzlockers do. No food. No statues. No shields. No healing abilities... Including things like Kaeya's skill. No teleporting because it's too easy too avoid drowning and fall damage. And best of all, any enemy you engage with must die. Healing weapons could be restricted too but I think they're ok because the effect in minimal. Obviously the end goal could be to see how far you get, or it could be to beat Venti's archon quest, either way it'll be way harder. Amber and Fischl would've been your best characters to deal with close range enemies and just gotta learn to dodge the rest because it's theoretically possible. Love the idea, just needs refining.

I actually tried it once, a hardcore nuzlocke boss run (all bosses that existed when I did this) using only the first 4 characters I pull from the standard banner. Conclusion: Yeah I actually did it but only 2 characters remained.

This is before watching the video but I don't know how long ago he planned to do a genshin nuzlocke but I mentioned the idea on one of his latest streams and I'm so happy he's doing it
damn you got unlucky with Noelle's banner. When i pulled in her banner i got 8 four stars in 16 pulls.
I just wannet to say that i love your videos and enjoi every sekond of it.
Damn, this is so surreal to watch considering how hard the first hours in the game were for me. I went into the game knowing nothing and not having played anything remotely comparable since Ocarina of Time on N64. Had I done a nuzlocke back then my entire team would have been wiped out by falling damage during the glider license quest if not earlier.

funfact the noelle banner is actually different from standard! you can't get 4 or 5 star weapons and it only includes characters that were out at launch eg no rosaria or gorou
This is even more CBT then NFS Underground Hard Nuzlocke(theres only 20 cars in the game and when you play in hard mode, the game becomes hardest game of 2003)
An idea for a hardcore nuzlocke: only 1 star weapons, no artifacts, no leveling up with books only in the overworld, then everything else will depend on your skill and luck :P
you should try again but banne Noelle this time, she is way too good at the beginning, this way you could use all your primos on the character banner and all the free blues on the standard one

Id like to add another rule to make the challenge more difficult (and entertaining): No fleeing, unless you can physically run away from a fight, you Have to fight, no teleporting allowed while youre in battle
