    After 4 seasons of my old skates, that were amazing, it is time to retire them. Now I have a new pair and the pains and struggles that come with new skates but in the end is so worth it.

    It looks like you really got some good mileage out of those old Ribcors. I remember when you first bought/used them at the Ice Galaxy in the summer of 2017. Despite them being the same model, the lower portion of the boot with the modifications looks totally wicked and transformed to your liking and taste. Hopefully you'll get more than 5 years with these new puppies. In due time, the new skates will feel like an extension of your body; providing you more support. Watching your 2nd session on the new skates looks like you didn't miss a beat. Always enjoy your material. Have lots of fun this upcoming season.

      Thank you so much, means a lot. Yes I was super impressed with how my old ones lasted me and the new ones now I definitely notice the stiffness of the skates is back. It has a lot more support and I can be more aggressive on them, they have definitely become a part of me again. I actually can't remember the original skates in 2017 were like when I 1st skated on them but I bet is was just as weird 😁. Really appreciate it and hope to skate with you 👍

    I never got my T-blades to squeak like that - I will need to try that!
    (The other day I realized people were looking at me, and I thought I must be doing something interesting for them to observe - but then I realized they were probably just noticing on the crunchy sounds my skates were making) :D
    Thank you so much for your inspirational videos!
    I'm always looking for new tricks to learn and slo-moin through your videos is always like a rabbit hole of great moves - most of which I couldn't aspire to at my age, but always something in there I'm taking to rink with me. :)

      Thank you so much. I am really makes me happy to know that this is inspiring you. You are very lucky not to have that squeaking noise, it isn't nice lol but the crunching sounds of them is amazing. I also get many people that comment and look at me because of the noise they make 😁

    I adapted 70Ks to inlines and loved them to death over 3 seasons, until I wore holes in the sole edges. These have been my favourite skates ever and I'm sad CCM is retiring the line.

      @GlobalIce  Рік тому

      Yes me too, the 70k's were amazing skates not sure what I will have to change to after these breakdown.

    Also question, what kind of wrap did you wrap your skates with? Is carbon fiber the only option? Want to really give my skates a crazy makeover

    • @GlobalIce
      @GlobalIce  6 місяців тому +1

      It is automotive vinyl, so any wrap that would be used on an exterior of a car but they very a lot in quality so I have found some that worked well and others that didn't. Unfortunately this wrap on the skates didn't last, I need to try a different company for my next wrap but you can wrap with any vinyl. I want to make a crome skate sometime 😁👍

    Hi Friends, I did the same with my Bauer Vapor boot, I removed the Tuuk holder and replaced it with T-blade. I've had rivets fall out too many times. Now I add a liquid gasket between boot and holder and use #6-32 Stainless fasteners, instead of rivets. I also put a touch of graphite in the runner groove to help stop the squeaks. What do you think?

    • @GlobalIce
      @GlobalIce  Рік тому +1

      Hey, thank you for the tip. Thats a good idea. I did have my old tblades come off a couple times, this time he used more rivets so hopefully wont have that issue but if I do I will keep this in mind. Also with the squeaking it was just the difference in boot so I am now getting to the point of not having it anymore by small adjustments but yes really not a nice sound lol. great ideas, will definitely keep these in mind, thanks

    Any chance you can give me some recommendations on t blades? Curious what rocker radius you use.

    • @GlobalIce
      @GlobalIce  Рік тому

      Hello, so it is really up to what you prefer but I use S-9 Tblades which are the most rockered and sharpest blade for quick agility and angles that help for my ground moves. If you are unsure just get a couple blades that are different and try each one out to see what works with your style the best.

    Hi what size T blades you gone for and is there any pros or cons for going bigger or smaller like 280 over 300

    • @GlobalIce
      @GlobalIce  4 місяці тому

      Hello my skates are size 8 and are 272mm in length. You would have to look at your original holders because there will only be 1 size that fits your skate properly.

    bro i wanna know what wrap that is, I wanna custom my skates' color too, planning on building a black and white pair, wanna know what material i have to use that is more durable

    • @GlobalIce
      @GlobalIce  Рік тому

      Hey, thats awesome. So it is hard to know which wraps are good ones. I usually look at car forms and find the best wraps that people use for there cars but I have definitely had a few wraps that didn't hold for very long. There is not really a perfect way besides just trying them or seeing which is the best and most durable. You also want a very stretchable type so it can will wrap nicely to all the angles. I personally have tryed 5 or 6 different wraps and found a great one in Canada which lasted 3 years but it isn't sold anywhere else

    • @GlobalIce
      @GlobalIce  7 місяців тому

      I use S-9 runners. I like the sharpness and agility with them
