I’m Catholic so we celebrate 12 days of Christmas! 12/25-01/05 so we take down Christmas decorations after the Epiphany, when the three kings come.

I can't take Christmas down until early January. I just love a Christmas New Year.
We take ours down the weekend close to 1/6 because that’s Epiphany, the actual end of Christmas. It’s also my husband’s birthday so it’s a good time to put Christmas away and celebrate him instead. 😊 There’s no way I’d want to take down all that pretty stuff right after Christmas. I want to enjoy it longer!

Same! My husband’s birthday is January 4th so I like to leave it up for that and Epiphany. I also just love it up in January because I continue to watch Christmas movies or winter type movies and have soup and hot chocolate by the tree and fireplace.🎄
NO WAY!!!! TOO EARLY!!! I leave mine up most of January cuz it takes so much time and effort to do that by the time i take it down its been up a good 3 months!!! Plus i dont really care while its still winter...

This is what happens when you decorate way too early lol. I usually take down the Christmas specific things the 2nd weekend in January, but still keep white lights up around my apartment and winter themed stuff out until the end of January.
I'm going to leave mine up until at least the first! I'll try to make it to Epiphany which is January 6. 🥰

I can't put my Christmas stuff away this soon after Christmas. Granted, I did not have it up in November.
Growing up, Christmas decor stayed up til after the New Year. As an adult, I’ve kept the tradition going.
It comes down the first weekend in January. My mom always waited until after New Years so that's what I do too 😊

I usually take everything down immediately but this year we’re keeping it up because we’re having a dinner party on January 9th. I think it’ll just make for a more festive party 🎉

Usually the first weekend after New Years day for me. I don't typically put things up until closer to the end of November though.
I’ve never been able to take them down until after 1/1 - 1) I love it 2) Christmas is too short 3) it feels good for new years to have sparkly stuff still up 4) I’m lazy
I usually take down my decorations a few days after Christmas, too. But if I had special guests staying with me through the season, like my in-laws, I'd probably keep them up so they could continue to enjoy what they came to specifically celebrate with me/us. I felt uncomfortable seeing the decorations come down while they’re still there. 😢
Aww it's a little sad huh. I try to leave my decorations up until Jan 13th because that's my Mom's Birthday. Or at least until after New Years Day. 😊 Last year I put away stuff right away tho.

Awww, ya should leave the tree up til after New Years. They're so festive. I leave mine up til at least Feb. haha Ya gotta have some sparkle during the winter dulldrums. What fireplace app do you use? I can't seem to find one that lasts more than 20 mins then you have to restart it. I did finally find one that goes an hour, but I want one that just keeps going til I tell it to stop. lol
There are a lot of videos on UA-cam that are just fireplace burning. And they have some that are like 12 hours long🤗
We put ours up after Thanksgiving, so this year we put everything up the Sunday after, and we leave it up til January 7th, which is what we call Ukrainian Christmas bc my dad grew up Ukrainian Catholic, and his family would use the Julian calendar so Christmas is also in January lol. I believe Ukrainian Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, Serbian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, etc also have Christmas January 7th!
Take the tree down after Jan 6, the Feast of Three Kings. I felt funny seeing you take everything down while your in laws are visiting. They came to celebrate the holidays. I would feel rushed to leave. Why don't you put some curtain lights in the basement to get that cozy vibe.

I love to keep my tree up until the first week of January so I can keep enjoying the cozy peaceful vibes. I understand some people get restless and want to take everything down to get a fresh start. But if you’re one of the in between people you can take all the ornaments off your tree and just leave your lit tree up. Then you still get the coziness without feeling overwhelm or clutter.
Traditionally we take them off on the 7th in ireland. Women's Christmas is on the 6th and we have a full dinner again there . People are still meeting friends in pubs and cafès etc these days
My tree stays up all year long. The other decor I take down usually the first weekend in January.

I like to start the new year with Christmas decorations put away too but I leave the task of taking them down to New Year’s Day. It always surprises me how quickly they come down as opposed to how long it takes to put everything up, so it’s really not a big deal - plus it’s so nice to have the house all festive and decorated already for New Year’s Eve celebrations!

I usually wait until Epiphany. Which is the twelfth day of Christmas. But I’m a pet sitter so I wasn’t home half of December so I’m going to leave my stuff up into January this year.
You got so much done by yourself. We leave our trees up through Little Christmas, especially since we don’t put our decorations up until the weekend after Thanksgiving since we host every year. It goes by so fast and I like to enjoy the soft lights since it gets dark so early now.
We leave ours up until the Epiphany, then the tree gets redone as a Mardi Gras tree with beads and masks as I live in New Orleans.
I leave mine up until after new years. How long into January depends on my motivations lmao
I'm in holiday mode pretty much at the beginning of the school year (September). I consider Halloween the kick off to the holidays, so I'm in decoration mode from late September through the new year. Fall decorations go up first, then Halloween, then Dia De Los Muertos, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then new years. After the holidays conclude, I enter my clean lines and zero clutter era until mid summer and do a tiny bit of summer decor.
I’m so ready for the zero clutter mode. I love my Christmas decorations but they start to make me anxious and cluttered.
LOL did you ever see the Downton Abbey Christmas special where Mary is all condescending like, "The tree remains up until Epiphany. You'll get used to the way things are done here. Properly." - We leave ours up til mid January because January is dreary enough! Plus I did not spend all that time decorating to not get a good solid two months of enjoying everything!
We didn't put up much this year except for our tree. So I may leave it up a little longer. I love the lights at night.
While I do take down my holiday décor on Dec 31. I do miss the lights, so I purchased a Lighted Cherry Blossom Tree off Amazon and love it.

Ever since 2020, I keep them up until there’s no snow, which in Wisconsin usually means March or April lol.
I hoped to send this note to you before you took down all the Christmas trees. I have a friend that has a tree up all year. Every occasion she decorates the tree for whatever comes ups. A New Years tree, Valentine’s tree, Easter, etc. you love the crafts so you’d be great to have your tree. HAPPY 2024 🎉
I leave my Christmas stuff up from early December to February. I theme decorate so I keep it up through end of January then switch to Valentines. The lights are nice to get through the last of the dark days of winter. Im not religious so I dont follow any at certain rules of taking it down after Epiphany or whatever it is.

I’m not proud of this but in 2022, we didn’t take our tree down until March!!! I blame it on having a 6 month old + a virus running through our house!! 🙃
My husband took our tree down Christmas evening. Our cats thought it was their new jungle gym. I do have a live wreath on our front door, and that will stay up until January 8th due to the recycling service calendar.

Usually I keep whatever handful of decorations all the way through January or mid-January. Since for the past decade I don’t have live tree I keep it up until it starts bother the space I keep it and gets in the way of things. Lights now are year round thing since I got new ones some years ago when they were on sale. If I ever bother to put anything else up it’s most often stays until Easter. When we used to have live tree it was up until it started to shed too much to keep up (most often week or two after NYs)

I did the same thing today! I was like oh I’ll keep some stuff up. Nope it all came down😂 I’m ready to deep clean the house and I can’t do that with Christmas stuff everywhere. It feels good to move into the new year with it done. 🎉
