  • Aaronia Spectran V6 RSA500x RF analyzer:
    - extremly low POI (probability of intercept, how short of an RF signal spike can the device "see")
    97ns (FFT-based) 10ns (I/Q-based)
    - fast sweep speed: over 500GHz/s, it can sweep 6 GHz in less than 10ms
    - RTBW (realtime bandwidth) 120MHz! (can be unlocked to 245MHz)
    - Range: 10 MHz to 6 GHz
    - Dimensions: 210 x 115 x 30 mm 860gr weight
    - powerbank in same formfactor with 26ah
    - for mobile use: powerfull laptop! (or reduced fps)
larger Powerbank (needs to supply enough WATTS!) or only 120MHz scan rate with one USB 3.2g2

    PROFILES:
Find (and backup) the Frequency profiles here:
    C:\Program Files\Aaronia AG\Aaronia RTSA-Suite PRO\cdata\profiles
and move the profiles I supply ( bit.ly/3uRn5rc ) into there.
Profiles are loaded on program start (if you change something in these XML files, restart the program! They are sometimes "connected" or nested together. If the parent is missing you wont see a child profile!
Profile "Labels" are only visible below a spectrum if in spectrum settings the option "accept profiles" is active! It's better to choose the profiles in "Config" of Spectrum rather than with the Ribbon button...
    BASIC RF spectrum knowledge:
    - RBW (bandwidth - how accurate do I look at RF?)
lower is better (more accurate) but slower sweep
    - VBW (video filter - low (100khz) filters MUCH, FULL settings means highest detail!)
higher is better (less smoothing) but you see more noise (set to low if you only wanna see powerfull signals clean)

Super cool device! Love to see the noise that comes from the CSI cables of our HD camera systems. So for example the split style of camera's and of course the dji camera cable. In the past I discovered that sometimes this will interfere with the GPS reception. I also have a runcam Nano 3 that is interfering with the GPS when they are close to each other. I suspect that the sensor on that camera also communicates with the CSI interface to the controller ic. Maybe other camera's create some noise. And maybe it is also interesting to check how much rf noise is coming from for example the esc when it is running.
Looking forward to more content with this device!

Ok Wow that’s is an amazing piece of gear. I’m am very impressed on that one 😍. It’s crazy fast on the sweep and to see the whole band like that is amazing.
I have got a loan of a 6ghz Analyser my self for a few weeks and just made a video on the DJI FPV system my self.
It’s crazy how we both was looking at the same thing the same time. This gear is needed now to be able to properly look at these devices we use.
My video went up today as well. Been filming it on and off for weeks. Crazy for sure. Or great minds lol.
That’s a very nice piece of kit and been looking at the pricing, it’s actually competitive for sure. I have the hand held scope for a few more weeks before it goes back and I’m going to try and save and invest in one for my self. This is certainly high on the list having seen that performance.
Great video man and well done 👏

I've actually seen your video yesterday partly and found it super interesting. It also reminded me that I need to play with the spectran more.
The one thing I didn't see yet are the spikes from dji remote, since I use crossfire.... good find.
      Thanks and greets, Mario

The most interesting thing is the visual decoding of information into video, audio and text. Recording, saving, working with the saved database. Can this database be used with other third party programs such as wireshark? What basic set of software comes with the equipment and for what purposes?

Having watched it for the second time I admit that it is great and unique content but also opportunity. Love the idea of a community analyzer somewhere in europe covering topics that would otherwise not being touched.
I would love to see or hear about a comparison of the usual R9M system from FrSky and the same hardware running open LRS to see the differences even though I doubt if that can be visualized or not. But maybe you will have answers or find out what is possible and what not.
Maybe it might fit into your research or as comparison to crossfire you usually use but I guess a lot would love to see a visualization of what open LRS does different if that is possible. And due to the fact that no one else had mentioned such an example you had been asking for I have written the comment.
At least OpenLRS is the hottest and even cheapest stuff and therefore a lot of people have an interest to know about. I do not have open LRS and therefore can not judge or help, but that is a question that caught my attention over the past 6 months or so.
Regarding integration - which is another topic - mariofpv has the shown most advanced on his channel I guess running a 3b mini on the air unit supporting openHD and iNAV via openLRS and the full beauty of the full OSD. He is a greek guy living in the UK and you find his channel easy searching for openhd 3b mini cause he had released a video yesterday about his new camera. I know him from the inav fixed wing group and I guess he will also support you if you have question regarding the whole topic open LRS open HD 3B mini
    thanks a lot

Wow, great video and tool. Thanks. If I am not mistaken, there is a module for drone identification in RTSA software. Could you please test it on some drones you have? It might be interesting to see results of this module. Thanks and have a great day.

The drone defense system needs much more than just this device. I can not even imagine how expensive it would be ;)

    Nice vid.
I assume the software can display RF power (dBm) for different channel bands? For example for 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE and so on and have the power of each band displayed as dBm? What I’m looking for is to have a dBm figure for all mobile signals at a certain location.

    • @Rcschim
      @Rcschim  2 роки тому +1

Hi, I have to test this but I remember that it can display the RF measurements in many different units. the thing is: the value is affected by distance to RF transmitter obviously, and also by antennagain. So if you just compare it to your own measurements always with the same setup - it's ok...
One can create a "mission" setup for this purpose. If you wanna go crazy you can also attach a GPS and automatically also have the coords in your measurements.

I'd really like to know how the DJI FPV drone communicates with both the controller and the goggles. Do the goggles and the controller communicate?
Someone on the DJI forum claims the remote receive video from the drone and sends it to the goggles. I've told them I think this is nonsense but then what is the controller doing? The controller has more heat management hardware than I've seen inside any other RC controller.
Just the forum thread "Inside the Controller" for photos of the inside of the remote. There's also a link to my Hackaday IO project where I share more controller teardown photos.
    Thanks for this excellent video!

    • @MoppelMat
      @MoppelMat 3 роки тому

You see picture with no controller active… so…?!! Why are we even talking about that nonsense?

    • @ddegn
      @ddegn 3 роки тому +1

@@MoppelMat That's what myself and others argued. The only reason I bring it up is because the controller appears to be doing a lot for just a RC remote. If you look at the photos on my Hackday IO account (same user name as here), then you'll see the controller has two large heatsinks.
One of the things I'd like to know is if the controller and goggles communicate. If they do, what sort of data is communicated? Do the goggles get their controller RSSI data from the remote or does this information come back from the drone? What sort of info does the drone send to the remote (if any)?
The controller has two antenna. One is inside the base of the plastic "T" which folds out. I think this antenna is for the 5.8GHz signals. The other antenna is in the right arm of the "T". Based on its size, I think this antenna is used with 2.4GHz signals. The left arm of the "T" is empty. I've been amazed how many devices have empty antenna shells. Usually it's cheap toys with empty antenna shells. I didn't expect to find one arm of the "T" in the DJI antenna shell empty.
I'll try to add a link to my Hackday IO project in a separate reply. Often comments with links aren't allowed.

No the remote communicates with the Drone/Air unit, as does the googles, yes there is a 3 way network but the primary coms is RC - Drone Drone - Goggles
