The lack of XLRs is something that has never bothered me on most modeler units. As long as there are balanced TRS outs I’m happy. I just always keep a set of TRS to XLR cables in my bag to plug into the house XLR cables on stage. So if that was your complaint, you basically just sold me a Matribox. 😂👍
Ok... I am selling my Tonex... :D. Haha Jk...! Hello Jake! I bought a HB ST-62CC Seafoam Green, It's great! Even for Metal it's quite decent with it's single coil!!! Not thin sound at all... Cheers!
Hey man! Haha, success! Oh wow, that's a really cool guitar. I've been wanting to get one of those for a while to use in my studio for traditional strat tones. Every other strat style guitar I have has a humbucker in the bridge. Great colour choice btw!
Great video review Jake! I bought the Sonicake acoustic and bass guitar "fly rig" style multi effects off Mike(CGS)/Lance's recommendations in the past and this product looks like massive value for the money. I love my Line 6 stuff too and was looking for an inexpensive multi effects to replace a Firehawk FX I've been using for years (I also have a Pod GO, but like to use that at home). This looks like the ticket. Can't wait to see if you do any further videos on this (shoot out, 3rd party IR loading, etc.) Keep up the good work. God bless and rock on 👍😎🎸
Hey! Really good to hear from you and glad you liked the video. I think it's definitely a really great, more affordable alternative to the Pod Go. I'll get to work on some comparison videos 😊 Thanks so much for the comment, take care! 🎸🤘
Hi, can I enter the looper easier? I mean, I m playing a song (one man band scenario), then I want to stomp on the looper to do a solo in the song. Because I saw you need to stomp on 2 switches at the same time to activate the looper. It freaks me out.. The other: can I stop and delete a loop with a single long step? 2 quick stomps to stop is also terrible in live situation. That is why I hate my stomp xl helix. Tks!
Yeah I agree for sure. I didn't have any issues with noise or humming. It has a couple of pretty good noise gates, that I did use when I pushed the gain a bit too far. Something I forgot to mention was that you can upload your own IRs too, although I really enjoyed the built in cabs. I'd like to do a side by side shoot out maybe with some of the amps that both the HX and Matribox model, using the same IR. Might be an interesting video? Thanks for leaving a comment!
Purchased a week ago. some volume levels are extremely high which can be turned down however, some are extremely low, and cannot be increased wether using the expression pedal, my level input on my 70 W combo amp or via the volume presets, this makes no sense, also not able to get the software to download. keeps saying device not connected, even though I have the USB line connected. I have contacted support, we’ll see how that works out.
@@mikebaker698 thanks for feedback. However after I have called and emailed this company multiple times with no response, this will be the last piece of gear I will ever purchase from this company with no customer service whatsoever.
"Device not connected" issues disappeared for me when I tossed the USB cable that was included with the Matribox II straight into the trash can, and used a high-quality one I had on hand. I picked that tip up from a forum somewhere...I was so glad that was a simple fix.
@@murdercircus7706 I emailed support twice with no reply. Customer service is non existent. Anyone want mine can have it for $125, I paid like $170. And I have the box it came it
Hey, thanks so much. I'm using the Tubescreamer into the JCM 800 amp model, greenback loaded 4x12 cab model, a little bit of chorus, the darker sounding analog delay (it's called Warm) and a bit of the hall reverb. Hope that helps!
bait title, why would anyone sell their Helix gear, from a well known company who frequently releases new content and updates for their products, has a huge community and ecosystem, has a strong and reliable support for a piece of gear that is basically a copy of mooer stuff from a shady chinese brand that has zero reliability?
@@StuartBridson I'd say it probably should be near enough the same as what's coming out of the main outs. I originally connected to my interface with a headphone splitter cable and I couldn't tell any difference to the main outs. The 3 sounds I programmed were all done with headphones too. Hope that helps!
Man, you still do not want to answer the questions: HOW IS ITS PITCH SHIFTER QUALITY? IS IT GOOD ENOUGH TO USE IT AS A VIRTUAL CAPO AT LEAST 2-3 NOTES UP AND DOWN? ARE THERE ODD RHYTHMS in the drum machine? Tks!
I have a home studio for recording, why would I need a looper and drum machine when I use a DAW? I have a band with a drummer for live… so.. I don’t know what to tell you 🤷♂️ Yes, I don’t learn and yes I’m superhero? 🙄
you replied my mockinng but ignored the real question in my other comment. Can you reply me? Eg. how is the pitch shifter's quality? Is it capable to be a virtual capo? tks@@JakeLeighGuitar
Do you allways record this way with two tracks?
Great tones brow, you are a beast
Definitely not selling my tonex. However, I do want one of these and to use my ToneX in the loop so i can have better amp tones but use the effects

I think you’ve made the best demoes & sounds for this thus far

I have the TE-62 in that colour, looks really good, especially with the roasted neck :)
I dunno.. it kinda sounds like a caricature of a model/multi effects
I can't hear any dynamic here. It's all t the same level.... Some serious test/demo would be useful. This video seems a selling speach.

One question, it works with any 9v power supply? Many thanks, excelent vid
As long as the 9V power supply can provide 1000ma it should work 😊 Hope that helps!
@@JakeLeighGuitar yes, many many thanks again
For me the sound quality is the most important feature. Do you think its on the same level as the HX stomp? Any problems with noice, or humming?

You have to make sure your not trying to install the software fot the 1st Matribox.

Hi there great video..i was just wondering what effects and setting you were using for the bon jovi sound..many thanks
Does it have a harmonizer on it to get a you give love a bad name

Yeah there's 3 different types of pitch effect (all polyphonic) so I think you'll be able to get very close to that sound
@JakeLeighGuitar ..thankyou for replying..yes that will help

You hit the nail on the head, No customer service at all. First and last purchase with these jokers
How does the headphone out sound for silent practise?
Really good. It’s actually how I’ve been using it most of the time. Just as good as my HX Stomp.
