    Girlllllllllll! WOWZER! I am really speechless! Seriously.....This is beautiful! A masterpiece! Totally worth your time and beautiful work. I have to be quicker to get one day for me. Whoever gets this-CHERISH IT! A piece of advice-I bought a BOS Tome 11” X 13” with 4” spine, with over 400 pages each and the Grimore Tome same size as the other, I paid $675.00 each for them and they are beautifully printed and real leather covers, (not the fake stuff), made by a well-renowned artist, custom made to my specifications. But they are nowhere near the work and craftsmanship that NIK THE BOOKSMITH does! That cover is awesome! I have scrapbooked my whole life and I’m 32 years old, so from the age of 3, I have scrapbooked, sewn, painted, thrown clay and etc., taught by my mother and other elders. It would take me days to try to get the colors so perfect, actually I really doubt I could even get close to what she has done. All the sewing and details are the most intriguing bits that makes this tome so unique and very rare to come by. For NIK has really earned the recognition she deserves. Probably...that is why I work on brains. You are truly a inspiration Nik!🙏

    That is an absolutely gorgeous book! I hadn't found your channel yet so I didn't have the opportunity to own the journal. I'm thrilled to be able to see the inside of it. I'm still new to junk journaling and find so much inspiration seeing what you have made. I'll have to check out the artists that you mentioned. I've ordered from your store. There is so much there and I've only been able to check out a small portion of it. I'm sure that I will be ordering more. I will also be watching more of your videos. You are so talented!

    All the words I wanted to use to describe this journal have been used. Beautiful, stunning, gorgeous. And so forth. Love it! I like your idea of sprinkling the times around for posting your journals to etsy. Gives people in other times zones a chance. Oh! I read the entire poem. It is indeed beautiful.

    What a gorgeous book! I love the multiple color tones. Also, that was a great idea to place fabric behind the signatures instead of the paper. I have found that opening and closing my book causes the paper to split down the seam. Thanks for another beautiful journal to drool over. Love your work as usual.

    • @NiktheBooksmith
      @NiktheBooksmith  7 років тому +2

      hi Ebony! yes, Ive found that, too. Its not like the binding is going anywhere because its secured to the spine, but I started using fabric for that very reason. On my journal, I just take a Tim Holtz ink dabber pad thingie and run it over the paper split to camouflage the white. If that makes any sense what so ever!

    • @ebonysanders2192
      @ebonysanders2192 7 років тому

      I figured that it wouldn't affect the structure of the journal. Adding ink to the seam is a great idea. Thanks Nik!

    OK, now I have a stupid question. I've been interested in making these for quite some time. The time and thought that has gone into this book is incredible and it's all really beautiful. My question is, is this functional for anything. Do they serve a practical purpose or is this strictly art. I really don't want to minimize the effort that has gone into this, but I'd really like to know

    • @NiktheBooksmith
      @NiktheBooksmith  6 років тому +1

      Hi Lori, not a stupid question at all! A lot of my customers buy them to document special occasions in...others just put them on the mantle to look at. I guess its all in your perception....art or functional art!

    Question: Do you buy your book and THEN make a journal to conform with the book or do you go out with a theme in mind and then look for a book to match it? Our library has hardcover books for 50 cents each and yesterday I came home with 3 bags of books, but NONE of them look like these vintage ones. Or, are these vintage or do you remake them? I'm just curious. I just made my first journal a couple of weeks ago and I'm a newbie...just trying to figure all this out! Thank you in advance!
