I played guitar for this band and was sent this video recently. Thank you for this review! I'm much older now, and notice its sloppiness, but i still look back fondly on writing/recording this and am proud of it. There's a couple of older rehearsal demos of unreleased stuff on my page if anyone is interested.
Sounds a little amateurish, but it captures the spirit of every local emo band from 2001-2005 that played in dropped D. Also stuff like early Senses Fail, As Cities Burn, Name Taken, Armor For Sleep, Thursday...
Thank you again man for doin another one of my requests. I found this song through one of the Rock Band video games quite a while ago as I was drumming on there. You can find full band playthroughs of this on Rock Band on UA-cam. Cool way to see how the general song is mapped out, especially on the drums. Also yes, the bass guitar work in this track is really well done! I like how it accompanies the guitar in the intro especially. Always a blast watchin these!
I put a few thousands of hours into Rock Band's pro drum mode using the MIDI adapter to play with an Alesis DM6. It sounds kind of odd but I can't play the drums well without the RB interface in front of me and I mentally interpret drum parts that I hear as RB tracks rather than traditional notation. So I appreciate that you mentioned there are RB playthroughs of this song. :)
@@CriticalReactions That's awesome, that's quite a bit of hours, Im in that general ball park most likely. Yeah the interface on rock band is such a help ful and fun interface to use, and has really improved my drumming on an acoustic kit too so a great supplement. Cheers 🎉
tittle bring me here one more time, and i love it , never heard about Gatling before, awesome ! Thnx as always for ur content and sharing ur comments and feelings with us
Huh, I love the sloppiness, and the lack of a theme. I enjoy more chaos than the average person though. I'd also say there's a difference between experimenting and exploring. Experimenting is done within a set of parameters, with a vague goal or "hypothesis" in mind. Exploring is venturing into the unknown, and seeing what comes of it. Dirty Projectors come to mind when thinking of experimenters, and Cheval de Frise comes to mind when thinking of explorers.
2 syllables for a single L in the middle, 3 for a double L (this may not be a rule)... As in syl-la-bles, or Rattling (no wait that's defo 3 in my view)... Words are fun :)
I imagine you don't receive recommendations through this place, but i would like to see you checking: Don Caballero - P,P,P,antless. Really seminal early Math-Rock.
i view "emo" as immature music yet this is drop dead gorgeous

@25:51 ;- #Blackmetal #Deathmetal #CriticalReactions :( sorry ;p I jest.... a little....
kinda impressively incoherent
I read into the band a bit, and it turns out they were 16-18 when they recorded this.. So honestly? This is pretty damn ambitious considering
