Thorpe Park has been well overdue a new coaster. It'll have been a while since they actually fulfilled their slogan as the UKs thrill capital. Though the rest of the park is still somewhat decaying. Saw has got quite rough in a short space of time, not to mention Colossus. I last went in 2021 and was pleased to see that all the effects on Swarm were working again. That's my favourite at Thorpe, but AT is my og theme park and I can't wait to go next year and ride the refurbished Nemesis 😁
@@mitzy123 🤣 actually no I’m 34 and I don’t know because 1. I rarely go to Thorpe park and 2. I’ve never read up on the history. I’ve only been to Thorpe Park 4 times in my life, the 4th being just the other day. I don’t claim to know everything about every single theme park. Goodness me the Themepark community is nastier than the equestrian one (and I didn’t think that was actually possible).
@@CoastersThrillsAndAirtimeHills I wasn't being nasty, don't be so emotional. It's been an icon of the park for the past 40 years and closed less than 10 years ago so it's only normal for me to be surprised and assume you must be a child.
I only got to do this ride once in 2012. I remember the indoor drop was scary and I was not allowed to do it a few years later becuase my mum said it was too cold. That is the same reason I never got to ride the flume at Alton Towers.
I think its quite sad that neither alton towers or thorpe has a log flume when its such a staple ride. I wish theyd at least look at a more modern water coaster from mack. Even the train ride is a staple theme park ride and they got rid of it!!
I love this
Thank you so much! I looked into the past and you are documenting the future!

The Swarm has great theming that’s for sure. I wonder what Hyperia will get…
great video and explanation! loved this ride as a kid.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed!
Great video 😊👍🎢
Thank you 🤗
Wow! Thorpe Park has changed quite a lot! I didn’t even know there was a log flume where Hyperia now stands. Thank you for sharing!
I’m so glad you enjoyed. That’s why I love research a theme park’s past, there is always an interesting story to uncover.
@@CoasterConnections this was definitely one of those!
How on earth did you not know this?! I'm assuming you're under 10 years old

Mack made its gone mack remade on top
Two UK’s tallest Mack rides on the same spot!

I always skip water rides in the cold too! Hopefully the video brought back some memories.

Thanks for watching! Maybe there is an opening for log flumes to make a comeback!
I went on logger's leap bk in. 1996 it's a sham it's gone 😢
It's one of my most missed rides. Probably due to nostalgia and the unique double down drop, but I am excited for its replacement.
