剧情介绍：

Aside from the BL storyline, my favorite part of this series is the relationship between the father and son.
I always get emotional when Yin Zi's father told him that he'll always be the person that he loves the most in his life. 😭
touching... typical Asian father-son relationships are not that affectionate, not that intimate & definitely not that direct -- hence lots of miscommunication & misunderstanding.

Every time I read the novel, though, I picture this two and that will never change. I’ve seen other dramas with them and I like them, but I can tell the are actors playing their roles. +Carl Villapana Actually it's called 'Addicted' because when the names of the 2 main characters are merged together (顾海+白洛因) it's coincidentally ‘海洛因’, which is the drug name 'Heroin' in Chinese. But I agree, it's really an addictive series so the title is very fitting :D
Sadly there will not be a season 2 unless another country films it with a new cast. It is banned in China.

I've watched this multiple times already and damn, I just can't get enough of this. The chemistry between Huang Jingyu and Xu Weizhou really gets your attention. Until now I am still continuing to hope that the ban will be lifted. :(
i think we have forgotten to compliment the director, the cinematographer, the producer & the film editor -- without them, even the best acting fails to tell the story & not evoke the feelings we now feel.
How i wish not only about the series, even hoping they can freely meet each other in public, it would be such a miracle dream comes true. Hope they still keep in touch each other

The final minute of this episode is powerful as Bao Yin realises yet another loss in his life as his beloved father takes 'another love' who will consume much of the former idolisation of father and son that has been in perpetuity for ten years. The scene is equalled by the discovery that both are stepbrothers and Bai Luo Yin's intense rejection of his love and the fall out from that including the scene in the massage parlour not to mention the exceptional kidnap scenario. The finest scene of all is Episode 14' epic when Bao Luo Yin is in tears on a rooftop where Gu Hai comforts him and commits to him forever! I note in production notes that Johnny Huang and Timmy Xu noted the rooftop scene as the most meaningful in the production.

While reading the novel and watching the series. I see a lot of people complain about how BLY and Gu Hai are with their feelings and thoughts. We must not forget that both were exclusively straight their whole lives before they developed feelings for each other. Of course we won't see typical scenario. BLY is very adamant admitting to his feelings because that's how he is and he is also a man himself, all of a sudden he is treated like a "girl" in the relationship. Gu Hai too is also only very persistent and somewhat psychotic with his because BLY never gives him straight answers. I think that's why he over the top gets jealous because BLY never reassures him.They're always clashing because in their own eyes they should be the man.
all they're misunderstandings are caused by both of their own stubbornness.
I think this series perfectly encapsulates the scenario of two straight man falling for each other.

Did anyone else notice what I thought I observed: when ByLoYin tells his father it is okay to get married, then the long pause and BLY says then I will be free, as he says that and turns to leave I notice he is starting to cry. I wonder if that is so incredible acting, or if BY actually feels that sadness at having to let go of his father to allow him to marry, and the thought that he now is free to marry GH?

Gu Hai selfishness is unbelievable. That's not love but obsession and it can be very toxic. In fact Gu Hai is a toxic guy. I couldn't cope to be with such a clingy guy.
Honestly, I feel you on this. Rewatching this series now made me realize how clingy and invasive he is. But to give the series some benefits of doubt, these kinda tropes were the it back then.
