In March 2024 we stayed at the Barcelo Occidental Jandia Mar hotel in the resort of Morro Jable in Jandia, Fuerteventura.
In this video we will take a tour of the hotel, checking out the facilities and the room we were allocated for our stay.
This review is our own opinion, we paid full price for our holiday and weren't asked by Barcelo Group or Jet2 holidays to provide a review.

Great informative tour Andy & must admit as hotels go m8 it looks absolutely fantastic with something for everyone & love the little garden area where the kids can indulge & learn & play at the same time. Everything looked clean & well presented & myself & the Family would definately try it out for sure.

Hotel Oxydental Jandia Mar ist ein wunderschönes hotel war schon dreimal in diesem Hotel war immer steht zufrieden, das Zimmer und Personal war sehr freundlich auch das Küchenchef und Personal sehr freundlich das hotel Oxydental ist sehr zu empfehlen. Does look nice and wide open, which is a bonus so always somewhere to find a nice and quiet spot! Have you been to a few other hotels in the area? Really don't mind the age of a place too much as long as it is kept clean and tidy.
This is our first time in this resort. We have stayed a Barcelo Group hotels before, of which this is one. We have always thought them to be of a good standard, this was no exception. Thanks for watching Bruce. Have a great weekend. 👍
Thank you! How long is the walk to the beach? And is it an easy walk?
@MaraFern There is a beach at the bottom of the hill and across the road (5 minutes walk). Most people take the hotel bus to the beach closer to Morro Jable, which has more facilities close by. It is possible to walk to that part of the beach in about 35 minutes (technically, it's all one beach from the hotel to Morro Jable). The worst part is back up the hill to the hotel.
I have a quick question is there any sports bars outside showing live football

There are a few shops and bars at the bottom of the hill. One of those may have sports on. Otherwise it's a long walk into town.
In the hotel, the bar in the hotel on the same level as reception, did show some Spanish football one evening.
I am going next year and I’ll have a 5 month old, would you happen to know if you can ask for a kettle?
We were surprised that there wasn't a kettle in the room. In the end, we didn't enquire as there were machines available to make hot drinks in the bars and in the ground floor lobby area.

It was a pretty good hotel. We've certainly stayed in much, much worse. The food was good. We were impressed that we got a sea view, we hadn't paid extra for one. Thanks for watching, Paul.
How was the pool water temperature? Is it ok for a 3years old? I can't see anyone in the water and we are planning to go in a couple of days
Most pools in the Canaries are unheated. I filmed this at 8am as I didn't want anyone complaining that I was filming them. They got busier during the day. There were plenty of kids and adults in the water, it's just that initial shock that gets you, within five minutes, the temperature is fine.
We just came from there and I can certainly tell you that the main pool was provided with heated water which was amazing.Great Hotel! Totally recommend it!Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, a great variety of food!
How long of a walk is it to the beach
If you want to walk to the closest beach it's about 5 minutes but there are no facilities, just a lifeguard station. A ten to fifteen minute walk will get you to a beach area with a bar and toilet facilities. The best bet is to take the hotel bus, which drops you towards the Morro Jable old town end of the beach, which has more facilities. I did a video on that, which should be linked at the end of this one.
If you were to walk that, it is about a 40-minute walk.
