What Austin was talking about how the way they play in FIBA is beautiful basketball, he’s 1000% right. One of the reasons I fell in love with basketball was watching those type of offenses being ran in the NBA, was literally art, poetry in motion. I’ve cut way back on watching NBA games the last 5+ years it’s so boring now everyone plays the same all 3’s and layups.

    • @Xsaveyawn

@@nelsondendomo6687 The NBA definitely has more skillful players, but that style of play is what beat Team USA this past summer, and they definitely had the most overall talent. @@nelsondendomo6687I’d argue just lazy. These guys don’t take every game out of 82 seriously anymore. They can score without using that kind of energy and commitment to a system so they don’t but they can run a more unified offense and get to those plays while sprinkling in other guys some really good shots to make those go-to plays even more effective and just have a more unstoppable offense. Guys just don’t wanna be in that kind of shape and play a true 5 man system knowing they can let their #1 drop 30-40 points and do enough to win enough games to get into the tournament. Not like teams value the game 7 home court advantage as much as say the NFL one and done playoff style

NBA players are often playing for themselves, rather than their team. Even on the world stage, USA players are often worried about perception and endorsements. When Kobe ‘sacrificed’ to only play defensively he was celebrated like it was amazing. That’s what EVERY international player is doing for their country.

Michael and Kobe with triangle offense are the most perfect examples of having an offense structure outside of just putting the ball in best players hands. Of course when it came down to it they would take over when needed, but they are proof it works. Phil does not get enough credit for implementing the triangle offense.

Austin claims the same than other players: FIBA basketball is more physical. When you see NBA players incapable to replicate against good international teams those amazing deep threes, super iso or breath taking step backs, remember how much rules can shape a player. And I would go further: there was a time when NBA was more physical and defensive than FIBA (end 90s).

Add in when KD was there they literally had 3 of the best shooters ever to play in the NBA.

AR on the Lakers defensive game plans against the Wolves “our whole defensive scheme is to stop him”
You’re talking about a 22 year old who hasn’t even reached his peak for probably another 2-4 years.

What is the point about justifying the loss in FIBA? They lost. It was a failure. Says a lot about the current NBA.

As of right now, im not sold.on ant yet. Every time I watch a T'Wolves game, now I don't watch them often, dude struggled and can't make a basket. That could change if he continues to develop.

Unpopular opinion: Ant might be getting a bit overrated. I don't think he'll ever be as good as Luka, Giannis, Embiid or Jokic. Then there's Tatum, who's also a lot better than Ant. Then there's SGA, also better. Could also make a case Haliburton is better and Trae Young has been playing just as well has him. Where does he fall in the next group of guys? Jayson Tatum took a team to the finals, was up 2-1 and gets less love than Anthony Edwards, I feel like

Austin Reaves should never play on Team USA again he’s terrible it should’ve been Trae Young, Lamelo Ball or Jalen Green. We lost to Germany the country he’s from. Felt like he wanted to lose to them on purpose.
