Hi @David Applegate. Göta channel is located in Sweden. The canal connects the west coast with the east coast so you do not have to travel around Sweden's southern cape.
More info here. www.gotakanal.se/en/ The canal was dug by hand from 1810 to 1832. It has 58 locks. I have traveled the whole channel 2 times when I was little. With my own boat I have taken the first three locks to Södergköping a few times, there are some pictures on it in some of my movies. (Summer2015 and Holiday 2012) I have been thinking about going there this year, so maybe it will be a better movie soon.

jag bodde i ljungsbro 50 meter från kanallen i 8 år i slutet av 70 och början av 80 talet så kanalsträckan mellan ljungsbro o roxen är mycket bekant
