Yet again a outstanding vid on the 1911, sir count me in for any vid u care to make!, beautiful example there, thank you Mr.C45acp, best of wishes to you and yours, take care .
Thanks again for all the informative videos! It might be interesting to do a Browning Hi-Power set of videos too (provided you have one!) because they were also pretty influential pistols with rich and interesting histories as well!
@hatsan38 No, I am cleaning a large collection for someone. They were nice enough to let me film the pistols I clean. The project should take just over a year.
I have a Colt's 1911 1924 transition model with a Walnut Mainspring hump. US Gov't Army Model. Colt's said this was among a group of 1000 sent to Springfield Armory for US Army preparation in 1924. Maybe they made this a test prototype which didn't pan out. Is it possible to contact you for more info and send pics? Issued to father-in-law US Army during WWII. S/N 7004xx.
The last cavalry charge that the Unites States Army made was in Mexico during the punitive expedition there in 1916. The cavalrymen made the charge with there Colt .45 in one hand and gripping there bridals with the other.
MrColt45acp i noticed that the gripsafety(the one which prevents the hammerbite) tail is too long shoudnt it be shorter for this to be the authentic ww1 colt 1911?
Great channel!! I have a question my 1911 slide locks when i put 2 rounds in the mag when i shot the first round it goes off and the slide locks with one round still in the mag i have mecgar mag !! Do u know why this is happening ??
Did the military ever mix up different components in issued pistols, for example a 1911 with a short trigger, or an 1911A1 with a flat smooth mainspring housing, removal of the lanyard loop on the butt, to the taste and preference and request of users ?
During it's transition period yes but not all of the same manufacturers were on the same page at the same time. Plus through the years they went through armour and CMP
Forgive me for asking, but how do you know so much? Are you a professional historial? A gunsmith? A very interested owner? The man who owns the collection must be interesting, it's a wonderfully full collection.
It bite is from overly fat hands or riding the grip too high. I have a brand new Colt 1911 .38 Super Traditional and this never happens. Owned others in different configurations and it has never happens. Those that its happening too need maybe consult Jenny Craig.
Enjoyed the info. thanks for sharing.
Sir, does the slide match the serial number on the frame of these transitional pistols?
This pistol you show us is a mix of 1911 and 1911A1. It was just right.
That was a great history lesson.
Thanks I will be looking for more of your of your videos.
Love the history and background of this amazing platform! Can't wait to hear more.
@dadudz411 Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
Can send a email with pictures of a Colt 1911A1 transitional. Navy stamp on Slide and Army stamp on frame.

I have one and it has humped main spring housing. It's 700448 and has small trigger. It's in like new condition.
I have one of these pistols as a WW2 heirloom. My great Grandfather got it from a German, along with a Luger, during the Italian Campaign.

The proper pronoun would be they're or their singular! Not there!!! As in over there 🤷
I think it started a little earlier than 1920. More like 1919.
Happy anniversary!
How many pistols are there in that collection of M1911's?

Always enjoy the videos. Had the 1911 hit the civilian market by this point?

Great vid. How about you mention the issue cost /price and today's Blue Book value, for the pistols you show.
