I hate reactors who’ve seen something or read it and try to pretend they don’t know when making prediction. There’s no way you can infer that message was meant for his friends, and bottom left tryna pretend like he’s predicting that.
I predicted exactly that when watching this scene for the first time. I knew that there was bound to be a timeskip when starting One Piece. That's why all the characters at the start look different than they do currently. Doesn't take much to figure that one out. His friends were separated across the world and had planned to meet back up soon, right? They were all scrambling to try and get back. Maybe it'd take a few days. Maybe *three* Then Luffy made it his priority to get stronger, so he'd need _way_ more time for that, right? Oda left more than enough context clues for anyone to come to that conclusion. Even if they knew, do not sell Oda or their deduction skills short.
