Its most likely because they grew up in a REALLY strict household making them good liars. For some people (Like me) I suffered pretty much neglect, Everyday, I'm alone in my room, well-fed and I get clothes, doesnt sound like neglect, right? Your wrong. It should be logical you should atleast maybe ask how your child is doing. Not just leaving them to survive. The internet raised me, my parents didnt. These kids usually end up fine
