Interesting you mention quant trading. Seems HFT trading prime was the 1990’s I’m reading “A Man For All Markets” by Edward O Thorp right now. Good read thus far.
Funny how we got to different conclusions. I started intraday trading and got to the conclusion that scalping and swing trading are the best methods. With swing you must have quite a lot of money to gain enough every month, but you spend just a few minutes every day to get to a decision on your entry and as the trade goes on the exit. With scalping you can have 10-20 trades in one or two hours and leave it for the day. With intraday however, you can easily work for hours without getting the signal to enter a single trade.
@@korbstrading Plenty of times I have taken 100-400 trades, and it really is tough to sustain. As soon as I thought I was having a great day, after hours of scalping, I'd take that big hit and it's exhausting. When I started to realize the potential from simply throwing a single contract on the ES and letting it ride to the other side of the range over half a day or longer, maybe 20 points at a time... That's $625 a day.... 200 days a year is $125,000. Not to shabby for the average person trying to change their life and be free of financial burdens. For everyone new to this, that's only 1 contract. Imagine taking a trade 200 days a year with 2, 5, 10, 15... as your learn, your salary increases, and it happens as soon as you learn. Start with 1 contract on the MES ($1.25/tick - $5/point), or something even smaller like the M2K ($0.50/tick). Cheers! =)
Nice video, but pls in another video, do you mind sharing those particular strategies that you used to scalp, getting in and out of the market quickly and frequently... Some of us still till this day prefer this kind of trading, as it personifies our type of being. If you already have a video in it, what's the link. Thank you.
What about Brokers who charge $200 a month for no charge per trade if your making $500 a day scalping it's not a bad deal, and scalping has a higher risk to reward can keep stops tighter.
I went from swing trading in stocks to scalping in the spy. I have been unsuccessful in swing trading. Now in scalping, i found consistency, i have 65 green days and 15 red days ytd and so far I’m up. So I’m sticking with scalping. But not sure how i will apply this in futes

I was a scalper with 70% w/l. But it was so stressed me out like hell and i just can't take it anymore. im a intraday now...
