You couldn't be more spot on with what you said. I worked at a place where I was hired and told there was so much work they didnt know what to do. I was the 2nd painter and when I arrived i had no work for 3 days.. Little to no work each week. It was a horrible shop and the people were terrible to me for no reason. I had to watch 3 days of safety videos only to go out to a shop with Zero air ventilation and they had 4 paint gun cleaners which all were broken so I had to spray thinner in my gun and spray it into the air. Everything in the shop was broken. Even the garage doors were broken lol If I didnt raise it all the way to the top it would fall down on the car.. Remember 3 days of safety videos... also no paint reps or anyone to ask about the paint. I think when you get use to ppg you won't look back. All these water systems with 1 and a half coat seem to be gimmicks honestly. I now only want to work with ppg water.
PPG is fine, slow, but fine when you get the hang of it. Don't slag other brand dude, I sprayed Standox in an ultra luxury shop for 2 decades and it by far the best thing out there, even better when you dial all your variants in.
Mate, you are a bloody legend and have taught me so much. I’m not in the trade, but I like to stuff around at home with cars and boats. So thanks for what you do mate 👍
Hey Gunny hope you and your family are keeping well, very enjoyable video I like hearing your thoughts about the industry as what you say makes a lot of sense👍 I had a friend who got a job working with PPG here in the UK but he just couldn't get his head around the quirks of the system he found colour matching a right pita!! and said the one visit modifier didn't work for him as he still had to do 2 trips with a flash off. I just have a Kapci paint scheme for what I do it's amazing seeing as I'm just a hobby/diy painter these days👌🙏👍John UK
I appreciated working with sharp dedicated people but appreciate it even more now that I'm retired. Trying to get things done outside that company and the people I worked with is pretty miserable LOL! I agree that people used to be a lot more friendly years ago here in the South West US - except surfing - surfers are always cool!

I think we have all had shit jobs and sometimes jobs we had never left but at the end of the day it's the people who make the jobs good or bad
