- Here's the video that a lot of people have asked me for. Full video of the install, loading, and even driving with a supermoto on the Harbor Freight Motorcycle Carrier
Putting that last segment of a video feed of it as it moves around as you're driving it's one of those really important things people always want to know but no one ever shows and videos. We all thank you very much
I figured i could say it all day long. Showing it is what helps 👌
Thank you for this video, I bought this motorcycle carrier yesterday and came here to learn about it and I sat thru the ads so that you could get paid for your time.
Drill new holes so you can still allow the tires to sink in
For real dude!! The way he’s doing it is f n silly!!
Awesome video! Thank you for driving it around. That proves a ton! I got one and my suggestion would be turnbuckles from your peg to the mounting point. Easier. Cleaner too!
Thank you for posting this... I am bringing a bike from Texas to Florida.. my son wanted to drive it down for 16 hrs.. I'm not on board with that idea... So I'm gonna go get it this weekend and he can drive his car down here.. very helpful. Thanks..
Th is is the best put together video I’ve seen thank you for the help
Love your bike! So sharp looking with the all white plastics, you Sir, have good taste!
Theres a whole build series on that bike if you're interested 👍
This is a very sturdy, well built carrier. Thanks for the tips on the handle bar stabilizers.
I have the same ramp, not too impressed with it but it gets the job done in a pinch. Hauled my Dual Sport 7hrs on the interstate so it did what I needed it to do, used extra straps, but like you said, they could've added better straping points.
Helpful!. Thanks for sharing.
Im going to try to reduce the ramp angle by raising it with some plastic car ramps. I'm hauling an 86 Honda Elite 250 later this week.
Edit: car ramps worked well. It fit the scooter very well without issues. Used the holes on my receiver instead of the 90 degree hook holes and it was much more secure on the platform. Paid about $105 after coupon. Well worth the price.
I appreciate the video, I just got the rack and couldn’t figure out how the hitch stabilizers worked and this helped. Haha
Not a problem buddy. Just post if u have anymore questions
Me too I thought the bolt was the wrong size I just goin to the hardware store to get a different on til I found this video
srqFF My stabilizers don’t form and exact square, I’m putting it on a Ford escape 2018 model. Does it have to be exactly square or does it matter? Thanks! Great video
Same here, I surely appreciate the info on how that stabilizer is supposed to work. Thanx a bunch 👍👍, Great video
Thanks for the video man! I don't comment on videos, but I appreciate you putting in the work and making this!
I appreciate that pal!
Good vid bro!
Awesome video thanks for this.
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Great informative video, especially being able to see the bike being hauled on the road. Answers all my questions!
OMG @ 2:45 I could not for the life of me figure out how the anti-rattle part was installed. Thanks. So other reviews and installation guides and they didn't explain or show this part.
Nice i was struggling with the stabilizer. I just have to pull it out and line it up probably. Thanks 🎉
Just bought one today that is identical to this one from Northern Tool and it was $180 bucks. Harbor Freight didn't have in stock and Northern did so I had to pay a little more.
I am picking up my KTM 300 tomorrow and didn't want to remove the tool box from my truck. This video helped with a few questions I had. Thanks a lot!
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Tip bolt a piece of unistrut to the front for front tie down point
Great video. I had the same problem with the front tire with a Zuma 125. I drilled a couple of holes farther back and reversed the tire clamps on the front so they sit on top of the carrier and can still clamp to the tire. The griptape is an excellent idea! I'm going to do that too.
Thank you so much for making this video. Now, I feel comfortable installing it on my truck👍
I have a DRZ400 and can confirm super hard to get the tires out of the slots. But it’s supposed to sink in the holes to stabilize the bike and lock it in place better.
this is a really good review. thank you
Hey Pj!! Thanks for that video. I haven't been able to find anything on this particular one except for yours! I like the idea of keeping the pins in. Right now I have them all out and the tires sitting in them. When the tires are inflated fully the pins don't go through. The option to keep them in will make it easier to load and unload... Speaking of which...would you show how you unload it? I'm a beginner motorcycle rider and want to be self sufficient and take my bike with me to parking lots to practice and don't want to count on anyone to help me if they're not around. This was a great video! I use soft straps to knot around the carrier and hook into those for the front. I'm not sure hooking into the wheel clamp screw will last long. Thanks again for this!!
Great video, and very informative.
On another video, there was strap mount just like those close to receiver. These were bolted in by the big knob for the ladder. Came with the carrier.
The pins go through the wheels so the bike can’t fall off if the straps come loose. If your wheel drops too far down you can find a way to add a cross member.
Looked pretty stable. That should work for my little Honda 90. Thanks
Yeah man. I've hauled my supermoto and my crf450x that I had easily for 6+ hours
Great video, strap job gave me cancer though and insurance won’t cover it
Jokes jokes 😂 just picked one up for my supermoto
I hope for a speedy recovery
great video, well explained and very informative.
Great video Moto-P. I bought one this morning from Harbor Freight. They should give you a commission
I've got my moneys worth out of mine that's for sure lol
Thx....very helpful....!!
Goddamn! That supermoto! I am drooling atm
Damn, that is definitely one way to strap a bike 😂
Gonna buy this for my husqvarna 701 enduro
I bought the same rack and the hole for the stabilizer bolt was drilled wrong. The stabilizer brackets don't reach the receiver, so I'll need to drill a new hole. Overall, its a fair rack and a good value for the $$, but there are more heavy duty options available for sure. As noted, the ramp could be a foot longer to make the angle more manageable.
You still have this carrier? Any problems with it? Would u recommend this carrier for long distance hauling. Planing to haul a 300 pounds scooter from Cali to Texas
That was a pretty good presentation...would have bought that one but too narrow for my tt 600 rear tire
I used the hitch stabilizers differently. If you rotate the bent ends towards the truck so they press against the hitch it makes it even tighter as it wedges into place as it tightens. This may not work for everyone if hitches aren’t standardized.
I have a Nissan Frontier. OE hitch. I can’t use the stabilizers as explained in video. They’re too short. They kind of help if used as you describe. Bent ends pointing in, towards the hitch. It was the best I could figure. Still some slop though…
I think if the tires were set down in with those pins removed that would stabilize the bike quite a bit. But like you said it might be hard to get certain size tires out of the holder.
Thanks that was helpful.
That's it. I'm making a video on how to tie off strap ends....
You should definitely do that
@@PeaJayYt here you go. Sorry it took so long. Feel free to "remake" it, I need no credit, I'm just tired of being embarrassed for guys who don't know how to tie off ratchet straps.

I was looking at the cheap black one made by Ego and Blacksmith and # of other names for the same and stumbled across your first vid-thank you! Forgot about harbor freight but good idea. I did not go through all your commentators yet.... Seems like some mods could be made (anyone done some?)and perhaps another few holes drilled for pin rods for tire support where others may need as well as tie down extension bars could be slipped through frame. Surely the frame can handle them sparingly. Thx again and now to see if HF has any so I can carry my TW 200
Let me know how it works. I'm looking at this to tow my TW as well
What would you think about mounting that on the front of a full size Ford pickup?
Hi handsome. Great job , may i recommend Shock straps. Goodluck.
Thanks brother .
Great video. It was really informative. I'm on the fence about buying this because I live in an apartment and don't have much storage space. Is there a way to partially disassemble it so that it takes up less space?
There is. It pretty much all comes apart. Very small footprint. Could store under the bed even
Great Review - Could you drill holes to custom fit the cross pins to the wheelbase?
I truthfully think that you could
Why not simply drill holes for I bolts for easier strapping down? I like the video and I think drilling a couple holes, thats an easy fix.
Dude…Just run a strap through the spokes and then around the actual mount for the rear. The one around the seat is not a great way to go.
Question please??? What is the inside width of ramp and tire rail???
I use a fat tire mini bike as a pit bike at the raceway. Tire is 5+ inches wide on my BT200x mini bike. Hoping rails are wide enough.
Are suv hitches like a gmc terrain strong enough to hold up a liter bike?
Good review! Question for you though. I have a Honda ct 70 with puny 10" wheels. Wonder how the space between the cross bars would act with such small wheels?
You could probably make it work. It comes with adjustable bars that go through. I hauled a 110cc pit bike on it and it worked fine.
Save your money and just throw the bike in the trunk 🤣
@@fomocowboy 😎
Sorry - girl here - would this be good for an electric bike? People at bike store almost bilked me for $650 for an “e-bike rack with ramp”. Thanks! Great review BTW!
Any bike less than 400lbs should work
can you tell me what a Kenyan dancer is.....may have misspelled the first word...do you have a link for them....thanks
How could I make this setup hold two Groms? Thanks bro.
Thanks for the video. And I'm happy to see you have a proper Ram. :)
Question: How much does it sag your suspension? My Power Wagon can easily handle the weight but on previous vehicles, these have caused some rear sag. People get pissed when your lights are too high. :)
I have a 690 Dirt/SM setup which is about 300 lb.
With my WR it doesn't sag at all. Which I recently installed airbags on the rear and it helps if it does
@@PeaJayYt Thx for the reply. Yeah, I figured I would add airbags if needed. Now that I think about it, my truck might have self adjusting headlights. In which case, it would be fine.
@@MTBryanH those power wagons are amazing
@@PeaJayYt Ha yeah. It's a beast! I love it!
💪💪💪💪💪
Can this be used for a Honda grom with 12 inch wheels?
I used it on my 110 pit bike so I'd say so
Now they’re $149.00 just picked one up I have a wr250r
I need a cheap way to get a fat tire bike back to NC from WIS, this might be the ticket.
you could buy tires cheaper than these ramps...
Would this work on my 2012 honda civic ?
Good video, thanks for posting. How much does your bike weigh?
250ish i think
Do you not use a fork saver?
What's the driving around part/outro song?
cool vid, it doesnt come with the pin to attach to the hitch?
It did not
mine did
Will this work with a Ducati panigale 1119 ? Anybody?
Do you think this would work with smaller dirt bikes? Specifically a Kawasaki klx110l?
I have hauled my little 110 pit bike on it
i have seen the hft carriers crack where the aluminum plate meets the steel thay are junk
I have seen the heat shields on the Falcon 9 rocket Crack. Things happen. Doesn't mean all of them do
my friend your straps are all wrong, this is designed to be center strapped, 2 to rear and 2 to front onto the eyelets on the main beam. Strapping to the threaded bolts is a big NO NO, take it from a guy who is 59 and trailered hundreds of times 👍 PS get rid of those orange home depot straps and get hvy duty woven straps that wont stretch as much as those crappy ones
My thoughts exactly. Looked sketchy.
Drill another hole for pin location
Thats what I ended up doing
Can I use this with a fat tire bike
Do you believe this would work well with a Honda Ruckus or would the wheels and tires be too small?
I believe you could make it work
I hate it when people don't set the parking brake, especially when doing anything where you want the vehicle to stay still.
Blah blah everyone has to complain. I mean the trucks in park on flat ground. Go complain elsewhere
That's quite a cluster fuck you got going on there.
Silly Moto, it goes In the Pick up
I'm too lazy for all that nonsense
Too bad you don't have a sidewalk to raise the ramp.
You see to me that doesn’t look safe to me . No post to mount to , so it’s just clumsy looking
Hey....somebody drew stars on your elbows while you were sleeping....just thought you ought to know.
But more importantly, would this cheaply made aluminium spring board hold up a real motorcycle?.... 400lb HD Sportster
Did you just call a Sportster a "real motorcycle"? Now I can't even answer the question. Bc best case scenario, this cheaply made aluminum springboard would break and there would be one less Sportster in the world. Cheers mate
Does anyone know how to adjust the size??
Good for 300 mile highway drive?
I carried it on a 600 mile drive for no problem
How much does your super moto weigh? Thanks
I think 300ish?
So you are reliying totally on straps??? Jeeeezzz...the front tire goes throuh, then a pin through the rim and so it doesn't fall all the way through it has two clam like things to hold the front tire (Which u decided to hook the straps to) then strapps of course
Yep. Totally on straps. Most of the time I'll pin the rear wheel where it's a bit bigger but the front I wont
straps are just fine 🤣 people get so freaked out over safety when some stuff is just common sense lmao
208 off-road use only straps are fine but I wouldn't trust them, i've had them tight before and with the weight jerking they became loose... Not trusting them 100%
Why is the ramp so short? It should be the same lenght as the other peice. My truck sits higher then yours and I'm quite a bit shorter then you. My bike has never hit the ground so many times in one day....
That would be my only complaint
Looks like everything Harbor Fright sells. You have to 'fix' it to make it work. The lack of strap points make it poorly designed. and the ramp is a joke.
That poor seat
Its a seat. Itll be ok
Literally has a pickup truck
Literally dont feel like loading and unloading it in and out of the truck 🤷♂️
Busting nuggets. Good video man thanks
Right. Now push my 800 bike up on it!
Could I put this on my scion xb ? Lol
If it has a hitch lol
Dude u have a pick up truck USE IT
Eh. I probably wont
