His last show with us, he had flown from the Ivory Coast straight to Eugene ,typically when Bands arrive we would have the Greenroom al setup for them & give them space to unwind & settle down. Then after the Sound check they tend to relax and engage. We did not see him until after the show was over. We went to the bus & someone told him the Producers are here to Thank you. We did not know he was on his bed in the back of the bus. But he had the strength & kindness to us here us in and he got up ....we knew something wasn’t right ,he looked weak & perspiring & still visited with us for about 5 minutes. It was surreal. We go to the Bahamas in 2006 shortly after his show & got the news of his passing. It was crushing !! Joseph was an exceptional man.
Father was a sweet man. He performed at our venue twice & I recall seeing Kenyatta doing the Sound Engineering at the Jungle Nightclub in Eugene Oregon in 2006. Truly Genuine & caring including his mom who sold Merchandise.
Rasta Bank! When I was a little girl my 2 older brothers would come home from their dates singing, ‘Everywhere she is Iah she waah Money..’ 😂😂😂That’s how I knew about Culture Band! I still dance to it today!
Joseph Hill have never forgot his origin. He was so proud to talk about Afrika. This love for his continent went far away because his firt Born Name is kenyatta wich is à real name from afrika. Rest in peace Mr jo Hill.
Joseph Hill is such a beautiful, special and spiritual Emperor. Kenyatta looks like he has a part of his beautiful dad's spirit inside. Love and respect to Kenyatta Hill the magnificent Joseph Hill and to Andrew Tosh the excellent Peter Tosh's son. ❤️💛💚
So happy that most legendary raggae icons hold their root Africa so dear in their hearts and they got that love for Africa transfered to their various offsprings, Kenyatta Hills is another very intelligent young man who so much took after his father Joseph Hills and he is doing everything he could to keep his father's legacy alive, one character I noticed he picked from his father is being yourself, he is not a hypocrite like the politicians who pretend to hate marijuana and made law against smoking of marijuana but they themselves remain the heaviest smokers of the banned substance. All I can say is young man we your brothers/sisters from Africa are very proud of what you're doing to keep your father's legacy alive, remain strong and l🙏🙏 pray that the spirit of your father that possessed you the he died which enabled you to continue that music tour will continue to guide and protect you, RESPECT MAN ❤️🙏🙏👍💪.
Let me tell you something my first album was combolo I listen the hold album I said o god I won't to see this man god answer my prayers Joseph hills came to Sierra Leone in 1994, I said to my parent what ever is going to happen am going to see Joseph hills

Kenyatta, indeed your father taught the children of this world unfortunately some are so slow in learning crystal clear lessons which dont even require rocket science.
39:00 i think the interviewer meant to say Haile Selassie denied divinity. 51:55 is my favourite part of the interview; this man's sense of humour is on point.
