Not bad to stay for a year. The location is great, and the Condo overall looks pretty good. In Toronto you're looking at $2500- $2800 for 500sq.ft to rent downtown. $540 in CAD = $725 not bad.
I'm planning to retire in 4 years and I have been watching videos for about a year. I've also been to these places several times in my youth. I have really narrowed my pick down to Thailand and the Phillipines. My heart is with the Philippines, but Thailand really checks all the boxes. Cost, Healthcare, food, housing, infrastructure, shopping. I also want to travel and having a condo where I could just pack a bag, walk to the train and be at the airport in no time is so attractive. Bangkok really makes it hard to pick with my heart.
Thailand ticked all the boxes for me too.. mainly for the infrastructure and pure 24/7 connivence that you get here in Bangkok. Im about a 5min Walk to the Red line that goes direct to the airport so im happy with that.. not that I go anywhere haha but its there when I need too :)
I lived in Manila for eleven years. I am American. I bought a condo there. If you spend at least $55,000 to buy a condo you are then entitled to a permanent resident card! I didn’t know this until after I bought the condo. Some guys get married to a Filipina to then get this! But you don’t have to! Then I had a woman do it all for me. She knew the right contacts. Sure enough, I got what’s called an ICR card. Quota Visa. It also lets you open up a business if you want. Plus you get a special window at the airport. That only allows ICR card holders. Makes it easier to go through. So then you don’t have to worry about renewing your visitor visa every 1-3 months. No more of that. It’s great. The one good thing too about the Philippines is that most of them speak English. Easy to communicate. I like Thailand too but as a foreigner it’s easier to stay in the Philippines. Thailand has so many rules and regulations to follow. It can be insane.
@@shadowfilm7980 I also noticed Thailand's rules change alot as well. I worry if I'm allowed to by a condo this year they might change the rules next year and take it from me.

Hey Rob, what an awesome pad! Congratulations - great price, and facilities are crazy good! Could you share how you found the apartment? Did you go via an agent (which one?) or did you walk into the condo and inquire? Thanks so much!
I looked at that place online, in my head I'd set it up almost exactly like you did for your desk/work space. The huge focus on couch/TV setups in these places drives me nuts. The overall layout was one of the more practical in my opinion, for the size. I did think the price was a bit high, but the listing I saw didn't do the facilities justice, and I hadn't noticed the location. Seems reasonable when put together like that. You aren't wrong about the airBnB side of things. Not having a ton of two week millionaires making a racket is worth a little extra too.
that is the best designed place I've seen in a while! Pool area and coworking are insane and the apartment itself is lovely as soon as you put in some plants :) When can I move in haha?
@Rob... thanks so much for highlighting the co-working space, biometric security, and ISP speed. Especially for remote workers like me! Just a moderate price increase for so many fringe benefits!
Thanks for the helpful info and good look around. I'm paying 26,000 for a large studio on Soi 4. No deposit or contract, so I like the freedom of that. I'd like a condo like yours, so I'm interested to know how long you had to commit to, and how much deposit you had to stump up? Looks great there for the street food and facilities too. I tried using FazWaz to find a condo - I made some offers to landlords, but they were ignored - probably because I wanted to do one month initially rather than 12 - need to make sure I like living there first. Ideally. Thanks!
On a 1 year contract.. I don’t want anything less to be honest.. condo searching here is a massive pain in the arse. 2 months deposit the same as my previous place 👍🏻 Fazwaz and hipflat are good
Is your studio located in a condo complex or how did you find it? I also want to rent like that, monthly with no deposit. Used to be easy to do that in SE Asia before gentrification of the third world took place. I'm coming to bangkok soon.
Very nice place. Honestly, my favorite thing are the wood floors. I can't tell you how sick I am of those huge marble tile floors everywhere. Wood is so much warmer and more inviting, and I don't care if it's fake, as long as it looks decent - and from the video, they do. I didn't get the sense that the outdoor greenspaces were really that nice. It seemed like a couple of random trees along the outside, but I'm used to what I'd call a mini park setting. You mentioned yoga or body weight exercises, but I didn't really get that feeling from what was shown. Overall, the building looks really nice. I'm glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for the video!
Wow another great Video from You , this is one of my Favorites - and I've looked at a lot of High Rise Condos on ( UA-cam ). Why I love this one - the Open Floor Plan with no wall. My other Favorites are the Loft Units.
@@ProjectBangkok Hi Again , If You like Yours , then check out the Arom Wongamat Pattaya on the beach. 2 1BR/Studio 35 and 55 sqm. Great Post Bro. I really have my heart set on Philippines, but I always stop by Thailand before going to Philippines. Bangkok has pretty much become my second home outside of America and I didn't even notice it. Such a good place, it's a bit much sometimes, but I love it

@@ProjectBangkok I plan on traveling to PH in June/July again, and will search for condos/property attorney, real estate agent in NCC, etc, so I can really get this ball rolling. Like the video Rob, thinking of eloping and getting out of London for a long time. Been away in Egypt and Colombia and central america for extended periods of time in the last few years and have just had enough of London. Great for the first two weeks then I want to leave again ;) How furnished is that condo when you leased it. does it come with bed and t.v. etc (obviously studio kit is yours)...I love Thailand and looking forward to returning soon to work on various projects away from the monotony of the UK. thanks for your time
I stayed at Q Chidlom on airbnb at least 3 times before covid. That finger/facial scanner must be new now. I have stayed at many with facial scanners on airbnb in bangkok and the hosts just simply set it up for me and It is quite simple. I wish airbnb was more allowed though because it gives a great idea on how loud and noisy the property and local area is before you sign a whole year agreement. I remember just watching taxi after taxi dropping airbnb guests off hourly here. Never was filled with partiers though not sure how it is now. I do miss Neon Market across the road, one of the main reasons I always booked this condo, so convenient!
Hey Rob, thanks for the content! Is this the price you're paying for a long-term rent of 6-12 months? And can you get a similar apartment in the block for a single month? If so, what would the price be? I've just returned to OZ, having just spent some time in Bangkok but I want to head back in the middle of the year and stay a month.
12 month contract.. it’s my home and many others.. not a hotel. There’s clamping down hard on Airbnb here as well so should look to spend 2-3x more for the privilege I’m afraid
Wow, this really seems much less expensive than a comparable condo in Pattaya. I would have guessed for this square footage and amenities, you would be closer to $800. I love the wrap around pool, you could exercise forever.
Great video man! I see in your other videos you are talking about the noise because of the open corridor. Is this the case for this condo? Or is not noisy at all? And what about the water temperature of the pool being in the shadow all day? Hope to hear from you!
Looking for an apartment like this to use it as my homeoffice. The problem often is that there is no proper table for 2 screens included. Did you purchase this table by yourself or was it part of the apartment? Thanks!
Is there a seasonal fluctuation of the cost of renting? Is it higher during the season and less offseason? I assume the utility bills are not included, right? Thank you!
Your thinking of a hotel. This is not a hotel.. it’s a home for people to live. Bills not included no.. a couple of places may do all in.. but very rare to be honest
Excellent review - thanks. Do you ever walk to the Chit Lom BTS ? G Maps says 850 meters and 11 to 13 minutes walking... does it feel like a long haul or is it an interesting quick trip ? Regards !!
Rob, when you listen to music on your KRK monitors, don't you annoy your neighbors? How is the soundproofing in this condo? Can you hear everything, even how you sneeze?
I don’t think anyone actually lives next to me on that side.. for the most part I only listen to stuff loud at reasonable time as well.. I can hear people on the other side though while I’m trying to sleep and this is a problem for me.. I never had this issue at Ashton.. something worth keeping in mind. It’s clearly an Airbnb as some lads had a crazy party there one night and I could hear every word.. sounds like they had a good time though 🤣
hey Rob, hope you are well. What is the minimum lease period? A lot of these condos in Thailand that are priced nicely tend to require a lease period, please share this information as some travelers may assume that it is just a monthly payment that they can drop anytime when in fact there is a lease and upfront payments required as well.
This is a condo block not a hotel. I can’t work out why anyone would think that the price would be the same for 1 month as it is for a whole year.. min term is down to a landlord and that would require some google searching and reaching out to agents who would then ask the landlord. You won’t get a contract less than 3 months though because it’s a waste of time for them. It would also cost more for just 3 months.. again I can’t stress enough this is not a hotel
So you have to book everything else seperate for Money? Like the Business Room, the Co Working Space, Gym and like the Pool or can you use everything anytime for these 540$ or something you mentioned?
Rob, how's the humidity in your apartment? Are you not afraid to leave your computer equipment, macbook, desktop and so on without SILICA gel, or put your devices in special containers where moisture does not get in?
PB, I wanted to ask....here at the "Q Chidlom", was the condo building within walking distance of the MRT or the BTS ? Were there restaurances, fast food, coffee shops within walking distance? I am REALLY loving that 360 degree pool ! I would be in that pool every day. I like that face that it is covered.
Bloody hell that is a great building and condo and the iminities are incredible i wonder if it has sauna and steam room need it for my weight management 👌🏾💯
I What give up all the menity's accept workout room for an extra 25 square meters. And you're right. I've watched many videos on Condo rentals and I'm amazed to never see anybody in any of these pools workout rooms etc!
I watched your other video couple days ago and made an appointment for a condo in Ashton Asoke. Now you coming up with this video 😂 I will still go for the Asthon.
The building and amenities are dope af for sure... the room as you stated is pretty small but overall not too bad a deal at $500 a month. Plus the location is prime and is also adding to the cost.. you summed it up well.... the building is luxury... the condo not so much..
Personally the rooms to big for me (Single male living alone) haha I dont have any stuff so feels a little empty.. I saw some of the nicer rooms and they felt much better.. but also higher price.. I just cant get enough of the bath haha
Where did you find the deal for the condo please ? Totally get the no airbnb policy is does become annyoing when your staying long term my current condo feels more like a hotel with constant guests coming and going every day
Hmmm that’s an awkward one to answer.. for a 7/11 worker.. there’s no way.. but Bangkok has some serious serious money.. there’s a lot of very successful Thais here for sure.. outside the city you notice the money less
Hi ,I will be moving to Bangkok for a job from the 20th .. And I like this condo very much. My office isocated at Bhiraj Tower.. Will the commute from this condo to bhiraj Tower be convenient? Thanks very much
My AC used cost me 15,000 baht but I liked it chill and it was a 5 bedroom with pool and fountain pumps in Chonburi. Seems the condo life is the way to save money.
Rob, I'm currently watching your episode with professional DT-770 headphones, and I hear a constant background hum inside your apartment. Is the noise coming from the air conditioner or from the street? How do you react to constant noise, because it is impossible to live for a long time when you do not have silence in the apartment?
I’m used to the noise now and it’s not a problem for me.. the noise would have been the aircon and perhaps even just the rumble of noise from outside as well.. rarely hear silence. It’s not an issue though
Happy new year,Rob. Great condo for the price, and great facilities. They usually go for 22,000-26,000baht for that size in the Q Chidlom complex. In one of your previous videos you were thinking of moving to the Rama9 area....Was there anything that put you off moving into that area?
Actually nothing.. Rama 9 is a wicked area and I may well move there in the future.. Im going to do a WTF is Rama 9 video soon because I love the area so much and want to share that with everyone
@@ProjectBangkok Thanks for that Rob.I ask because I'm looking into that area for myself.I'm especially interested in the Life Asoke and the Life Asoke Hype condos.Really excellent facilities, and close to several night markets.
Great find. Thx for sharing. I’m sure Covid is a big reason for the price. If China doesn’t unleash another prices will go back up. Did you consider KL?
2 month deposit.. it’s not a deal.. it’s just the price haha it’s just that people want to have 3 month holidays here and will pay extra for the privilege for sure.. nearly double in some cases
When I went to sell my house, the real estate agent said get rid of all the shelves,... The more space the home had the more sellable it was. Maybe the same holds for your semi-minimalist condo.
2 Questions Why are these southeast asia cities all of sudden look a lot more massive and modern than cities like New York or Chicago. 2nd Question I know you mentioned a lot of good street food so is $300 USD enough for 1 person for food per month?
Nice video! My only suggestion is to get to the condo first and then the bldg features. I am always frustrated when a video is titles "Condo Tour" and then the condo itself is 10 minutes in. Pools, gyms, etc don't interest me if I don't want the condo. You did a great job but could have gotten to the condo and then the features.
Nice video, although I have a slight challenge understanding your accent sometimes. Do they have 2 or 3 BR units? Do you rent directly from the building manager or from some website?
Im not an agent Sam.. So I dont really pay attention to the units im not looking for bud. quick google will answer ya question though im sure. I rent through an agent to pays the landlord
Wow that's a fantastic condo for that price, I'm looking for prices now and for a studio/1bed they seem to range 22/25k upwards so you did well for 19k

2 months deposit the same as my previous place 👍🏻 Fazwaz and hipflat are good
What's the name of your place where you are paying 26,000 /mth? I want to stay there too!
Is your studio located in a condo complex or how did you find it? I also want to rent like that, monthly with no deposit. Used to be easy to do that in SE Asia before gentrification of the third world took place. I'm coming to bangkok soon.
Love your channel and it's given me and my Fiance the goal to get there in like 10 years.
Thank you! Your welcome 🙏
Arrgh.. I'm drooling. Gorgeous!
Treat yourself 👌🏻
Wow another great Video from You , this is one of my Favorites - and I've looked at a lot of High Rise Condos on ( UA-cam ). Why I love this one - the Open Floor Plan with no wall. My other Favorites are the Loft Units.
I’m not usually a fan of open plan rooms but this one feels really nice because of the cut through bathroom I think
@@ProjectBangkok Hi Again , If You like Yours , then check out the Arom Wongamat Pattaya on the beach. 2 1BR/Studio 35 and 55 sqm. The Floor To Ceiling Glass and build quality of the units is impressive. I'm retired and live in the USA - San Diego Ca. and now Phoenix Az.. Single and thinking of moving out of the USA.Thinking of Mexico , Costa Rica and Thailand. Plan on visiting for a Month this fall when it's cooler and less rain. You and Your fellow UA-camr's give me so much good information. And my favorite High Rise in Pattaya is the Rivera Jomtien. Thanks again for all your Great Video's.
Appreciate the content, Rob. Saw Gary and Paddy talking with you on their live stream. I'll be moving to Bkk soon, so these vids are a big help.
Thanks a lot Aaron.. hopefully get to meet them lads soon.. Both legends! Happy my vids are helpfully and not just fluff 😂
Great Post Bro. I really have my heart set on Philippines, but I always stop by Thailand before going to Philippines. Bangkok has pretty much become my second home outside of America and I didn't even notice it. Such a good place, it's a bit much sometimes, but I love it
Some days I feel like escaping but then Pattaya and Koh Chang are just down the road for me to reset.. after 3 or 4 days away I miss Bangkok again and come back home. Philippines is beautiful! Can’t fault it for that.. it’s the infrastructure I don’t like as much there.. pros and cons
@@ProjectBangkok Forsure dude!
@@ProjectBangkok I plan on traveling to PH in June/July again, and will search for condos/property attorney, real estate agent in NCC, etc, so I can really get this ball rolling. I think purchasing a condo for $60k, at 28 is invaluable! Plus I work in Software Engineering, so all online. It just makes sense.
Like the video Rob, thinking of eloping and getting out of London for a long time. Been away in Egypt and Colombia and central america for extended periods of time in the last few years and have just had enough of London. Great for the first two weeks then I want to leave again ;)
How furnished is that condo when you leased it. does it come with bed and t.v. etc (obviously studio kit is yours)...I love Thailand and looking forward to returning soon to work on various projects away from the monotony of the UK. thanks for your time
I stayed at Q Chidlom on airbnb at least 3 times before covid.
I've just returned to OZ, having just spent some time in Bangkok but I want to head back in the middle of the year and stay a month.
usually is twice as much maybe around 1000 $? but he said that is this building its not an option to rent for short term
12 month contract.. it’s my home and many others.. not a hotel. There’s clamping down hard on Airbnb here as well so should look to spend 2-3x more for the privilege I’m afraid
@@ProjectBangkok did you use a rental agency? If so, would you mind sharing? Looks like a great place to stay!
@@ProjectBangkok how do you even get to stay and live in bangkok ? Which type of visa did you get?
Check out my video about how I become a Bangkok UA-camr.. my whole story there my friend… no easy ride that’s for sure
Wow, this really seems much less expensive than a comparable condo in Pattaya. I would have guessed for this square footage and amenities, you would be closer to $800. I love the wrap around pool, you could exercise forever.
Oh really? This is a little bit from the main BTS to be fair.. so maybe a condo away from the beach would also be cheaper I don’t know 🤷🏼♂️
Great video man!
@@ProjectBangkok Thank you!
Excellent review - thanks. Do you ever walk to the Chit Lom BTS ? G Maps says 850 meters and 11 to 13 minutes walking... does it feel like a long haul or is it an interesting quick trip ? Regards !!
I used to walk every single day. Moto taxi is only 20 baht though. It’s a short walk 5min if you ask me
Rob, when you listen to music on your KRK monitors, don't you annoy your neighbors?
All included. No need to book anything or pay anything
Great video, thanks. May I ask how are you able to stay in Thailand for such a long time? Work Visa, Education or something?
There’s plenty of long term visa options to live in Thailand full time. Just find the one that suites you
Rob, how's the humidity in your apartment? Are you not afraid to leave your computer equipment, macbook, desktop and so on without SILICA gel, or put your devices in special containers where moisture does not get in?
Nahhhhh that’s never a problem here no matter where your staying. Aircon drys everything to death including your throat haha 😂
It has a sauna but not a steam room
It has a sauna but not a steam room
Great you can go swimming in the rain and on sunny days, always find some shade. Price of admission right there!
You got that right 👌🏻
I What give up all the menity's accept workout room for an extra 25 square meters.
Haha there different vibes for sure.. ashton has the best transport links than nearly any condo in Bangkok
Awesome Condo Rob, with all facilities and nearby attractions, Street Food and Transport. The night view would be great too.
Thanks Scott.. its a nice little pad for me I actually really like it here.. keep finding more and more things in the area as well so thats a bonus
Totally get the no airbnb policy is does become annyoing when your staying long term my current condo feels more like a hotel with constant guests coming and going every day
Hours of google searching and messaging agents
Absolutely Amazing I am moving to Bangkok
Great to hear
An incredible price. I am curious to know in terms of wages in Bangkok whether 540$ is something affordable there as well these days
Hmmm that’s an awkward one to answer.. for a 7/11 worker.. there’s no way.. but Bangkok has some serious serious money.. there’s a lot of very successful Thais here for sure.. outside the city you notice the money less
nice place and great location. Looks like it even has a small balcony ? That's seriously a good deal congrats
Yes it does! Its larger than my old balcony so thats great.. could fit a small table and chairs in there if i wanted too
Hi ,I will be moving to Bangkok for a job from the 20th .. And I like this condo very much. My office isocated at Bhiraj Tower.. Will the commute from this condo to bhiraj Tower be convenient? Thanks very much
That’s a lot of google searching in my part bro.. something to be asked in the member community tab I think 👍🏻
Nice digs, nice pool, great price, good work brother am going to move into your old building next month
Ashton is by far the best condo in Bangkok for transport links hands down.. I just miss the food 🤣 and I’m a cheap Charlie 🤪
Let's say I wanted to stay for 3-5 months, is that a common option? Or is it more long term contract's?
Sounds like a question for my members section. Or perhaps another one of my videos can help?
My AC used cost me 15,000 baht but I liked it chill and it was a 5 bedroom with pool and fountain pumps in Chonburi. Seems the condo life is the way to save money.
Ooossshhhh now thats a bill! Almost as much as my whole rent
I couldn't find this price for this condo. Could you please inform me where I can find the website or contact an agent to rent it out?
Nice place and I loved that they had a laundry room
Most buildings do to be fair.. unless there apartments of course
That pool's pretty sic amd the view is great.
I'd prob use the onsen at least a few times or more a week..
Life asoke hype looked good.. nice views and facilities.. I’m heading to Rama 9 today to make that video 👍🏻 will be up in a couple of days bud
Dang that is very cool. I wonder how hard it would be to move from the US to here and find good enough work to live comfortably.
It’s all about that remote working life
@@ProjectBangkok Oh that's pretty neato. Would like to see a video of possibilities are there regarding WFH in bangkok.
I know exactly where that is and I LOVE that neighborhood! Thanks for sharing!!!
Nice place, pricy, but if it fits your budget….. enjoy.
Missing my home…..
Back there soon😊
I was only paying 17k that’s cheap for this level I think
Can I ask about internet? It is Mobile shared, WiFi router or Cable? And if it is cable then tell me plz, it was there before you moved in?
That’s a lot of questions for the members section my friend 😂
@@ProjectBangkok Which needs only two word to answer: 1) Name of internet type 2) YES or NO
So demanding bro. Internet type: fast. Yes.. no.. 👍🏻
@@ProjectBangkok "fast" is not internet type bro =) But it seems you are using free WiFi of condo you living in, right?
Looks Amazing!
Thank you for the post!

Thanks for the sub! Welcome aboard
Gorgeous condo mate! Wondering what sites you use to look for deals like that? ( that's if you don't look for em from agencies ) Cheers
Hip flat and fazwaz are decent.. I have A process of finding condos here to be honest that I’m going to cover in a video the next couple of weeks 👍🏻
Cheers for the video, are you able to list out any additional costs
Electric, water and internet are the only other things I pay for. Electric about 1200, water 200 and 1gb fiber 750 per month 👍🏻
@@ProjectBangkok thank you sir
So, it's a about a year later. Still liking it?
I don't live there anymore but it's still an epic condo. Stick by my review 100%
@@ProjectBangkok Excellent. I'll be moving to BKK in November. I'll keep my eye on this one. Great location.
Love the completely empty shared spaces. It's the same in every apartment I've ever been in.
It’s a real shame.. but then it makes me wonder how many condos are just pure Airbnb now
Great find. Thx for sharing. I’m sure Covid is a big reason for the price. If China doesn’t unleash another prices will go back up.
Did you consider KL?
I would never consider moving, but your videos are so good I still watch 😅
Just want to add that you point out a lot of key stuff lots of UA-camrs don’t bother to mention. Good work
This is why I don’t rush videos out.. quality over quantity.. happy to help
Lived there is very good area lots to do and very friendly . You have a 7/11 literally next door to the condo .
What is the best way to contact these places to look at renting a place? I have been trying to contact some of these places without any luck.
Condo look good, but i think its important to mention to get this deals you need to sign 1 year contract, also probably pay some big deposit.
2 month deposit.. it’s not a deal.. it’s just the price haha it’s just that people want to have 3 month holidays here and will pay extra for the privilege for sure.. nearly double in some cases
I've seen comments on other videos that pools which don't
receive daytime sun are uncomfortably cold.
Have you had a swim in yours, yet? How is it?
That's a proper sized condo with a decent balcony (instead of the micro balconies of Ashton)
The one I had was deffo a micro balcony but if you check out the other room layout they have some big ones also at Ashton
Woah this looks really great!
Thanks Tony
When I went to sell my house, the real estate agent said get rid of all the shelves,... The more space the home had the more sellable it was. Maybe the same holds for your semi-minimalist condo.
Good logic.. actually never thought of it like that
2 Questions Why are these southeast asia cities all of sudden look a lot more massive and modern than cities like New York or Chicago. 2nd Question I know you mentioned a lot of good street food so is $300 USD enough for 1 person for food per month?
That place is amazing
I love it
Hello i live in Asok may i ask which agent you use to rent it?
I am living here now coz of your video
That’s amazing to hear! I hope my videos lived up to the hype 🙏🏻
hey man, how are prices nowadays in 2024? Is it possible to rent for 1-2 months?
Great Video. Can you provide the contact info on who we can get in touch to inquire about renting at the Q Chidlom? Thanks
Just google “condo for rent q chidlom” will be a fair few I would expect. Different prices, agents, sizes etc etc
Where do I find this apartment? Says it’s 2500 on airbnb
Airbnbs are significantly more expensive id assume
What do you mean find it? Have you Googled? This is not a hotel
Stunning building, great view, lovely condo, surprisingly low price...I'm wondering what the catch is too 🤔
Just cheap inside my condo bro to be honest. Everything else is mint.. I’ll make it luxury myself 👌🏻
Hello, great video, I can't wait till I retire
Best of luck! Thanks for watching
Wow that's a fantastic condo for that price, I'm looking for prices now and for a studio/1bed they seem to range 22/25k upwards so you did well for 19k
Yeah I wanted to snap it up while I had the chance
@@ProjectBangkok fair play! Good on ya.
