I don't wanna see someone taking a shower or pooping.
There was actually privacy film on the glass but I asked them to remove it. I wanted more light in the room
I watched your other video couple days ago and made an appointment for a condo in Ashton Asoke. Now you coming up with this video 😂 I will still go for the Asthon.
Haha there different vibes for sure.. ashton has the best transport links than nearly any condo in Bangkok
Great Video. Can you provide the contact info on who we can get in touch to inquire about renting at the Q Chidlom? Thanks
Just google “condo for rent q chidlom” will be a fair few I would expect. Different prices, agents, sizes etc etc
Thailand sounds like a really nice country
For me.. it’s the best country in the world.. I wouldn’t choose anywhere else on earth if I won the lotto tomorrow
It depends on your tolerance for other people and a poor standard of living once outside of the house. Developing countries are exactly that… developing. Many things are inconvenient and stress inducing.
Thailand is by far the most convenient country in the world. It’s beyond crazy what you can get here all the time
what floor is room? and can i open window at balcony?
Dude what an insane place :o
Thank you 🙏
Wow nice place. Good for you.
Yes, thank you
IF the AC is not cleaned around every 3-4 months it will start to drip water and be careful with your computer stuff there.
Thank you Sir! I have never considered this.. I will keep a close eye on it
Who cares..
I would.. that’s who 🤔
@@ProjectBangkok if you don't know to clean your air conditioner or it will condensate you probably need to go back to the 3rd grade..
Get over yourself Tony. Iv never seen an aircon unit drip anywhere in my life! I’m from the UK.. to cold for aircon! Don’t they teach you that in 3rd grade? Oh wait.. we don’t do “grades” in the UK either.. but you knew that!
I’m sorry your smarter than the world Tony
Not bad to stay for a year. The location is great, and the Condo overall looks pretty good. In Toronto you're looking at $2500- $2800 for 500sq.ft to rent downtown. $540 in CAD = $725 not bad.
Hi Rob! Nice place! You are living it up! I like the way you did a review of the whole area then leading up to the condo tour. Well done! Keep up the great work! 👍👍
Thanks a lot bud.. there’s so much involved with choosing a condo in the city it can be a nightmare for sure.. I’ll do a video about it in the next couple of weeks
@@ProjectBangkok How do i rent one of these out Rob?
ffff Thailand with their 30 DAYS tourist visa. Greetings from Quito.
Hello welcome 🙏
I'm planning to retire in 4 years and I have been watching videos for about a year. I've also been to these places several times in my youth. I have really narrowed my pick down to Thailand and the Phillipines. My heart is with the Philippines, but Thailand really checks all the boxes. Cost, Healthcare, food, housing, infrastructure, shopping. I also want to travel and having a condo where I could just pack a bag, walk to the train and be at the airport in no time is so attractive. Bangkok really makes it hard to pick with my heart.
Thailand ticked all the boxes for me too.. mainly for the infrastructure and pure 24/7 connivence that you get here in Bangkok. Im about a 5min Walk to the Red line that goes direct to the airport so im happy with that.. not that I go anywhere haha but its there when I need too :)
I lived in Manila for eleven years. I am American. I bought a condo there. If you spend at least $55,000 to buy a condo you are then entitled to a permanent resident card! I didn’t know this until after I bought the condo. Some guys get married to a Filipina to then get this! But you don’t have to! Then I had a woman do it all for me. She knew the right contacts. Sure enough, I got what’s called an ICR card. Quota Visa. It also lets you open up a business if you want. Plus you get a special window at the airport. That only allows ICR card holders. Makes it easier to go through. So then you don’t have to worry about renewing your visitor visa every 1-3 months. No more of that. It’s great. The one good thing too about the Philippines is that most of them speak English. Easy to communicate. I like Thailand too but as a foreigner it’s easier to stay in the Philippines. Thailand has so many rules and regulations to follow. It can be insane.
@@shadowfilm7980 I also noticed Thailand's rules change alot as well. I worry if I'm allowed to by a condo this year they might change the rules next year and take it from me.
@@ctsmith580 Have you looked into Malaysia? I think it's similar to Thailand in terms of infrastructure & healthcare and people speak english too.
@@user-qg5jw1kb3r Just recently I started looking at it. Looks very attractive for what I'm looking to do. Have a chill comfortable home base that's affordable, then launch trips to different places.
Makes you realize how milked you're getting by owners in US, UK or anywhere in Europe really...
The whole western world is getting robbed if you ask me. Can you see why I moved?
@@ProjectBangkok Man, I pay almost 1300 euros for a hovel in den Hague, Netherlands. Electricy and Gas bills are killing my pocket. It's honestly f***ed, no other way to describe it. 50% of salary just to pay rent.
Always noticed there is no ugly vandal markings or graffetti the young crimials do in contrast to the thugs do in the USA when they mark buildings/walkways with gang signs.
Been living in BKK for 6 yrs. This is one of the best value for money condos in town.
Thank you for your excellent review
Thanks for watching!
why you left bkk? thinking about moving there
@solomoralez6198 I didn’t leave.. never said I did haha
When I retire and move to Thailand someday, I'll be happy to have a room and luxury building like that. I'm a simple guy, I don't need much. Beautiful place my guy👏🏿👌🏿
Thank you sir 🙏 it’s luxury from where I have come from so I’m happy you also agree 😁
MATE!!! You are a LEGEND! I've literally been looking for an apartment cos I've been hotel hopping for the LONGEST!!! This is PERFECT! Idk if you get a referral but I'll reach out when I get back from Malaysia because I NEED an apartment. Keep the good content coming mate.
Your welcome Baba, i will do a video shortly about the difficulties of finding condos here as well. Hotel hopping is not cost effective haha
@@ProjectBangkok Looking forward to it! And trust me, you don't have to tell me, my wallet is very well aware lol
For 500 dollars I can have lovely room in gloomy London with plenty of space for my rats
Great video. Well organized and directly to the point. Saves time and love the map link you provided. I always look up the map location but so few content providers bother. Thx again.
Glad it was helpful! I try include as much as I can
Where do I find this apartment? Says it’s 2500 on airbnb
Airbnbs are significantly more expensive id assume
What do you mean find it? Have you Googled? This is not a hotel
Hey Rob, thanks for the content! Is this the price you're paying for a long-term rent of 6-12 months? And can you get a similar apartment in the block for a single month? If so, what would the price be?
I've just returned to OZ, having just spent some time in Bangkok but I want to head back in the middle of the year and stay a month.
usually is twice as much maybe around 1000 $? but he said that is this building its not an option to rent for short term
12 month contract.. it’s my home and many others.. not a hotel. There’s clamping down hard on Airbnb here as well so should look to spend 2-3x more for the privilege I’m afraid
@@ProjectBangkok did you use a rental agency? If so, would you mind sharing? Looks like a great place to stay!
@@ProjectBangkok how do you even get to stay and live in bangkok ? Which type of visa did you get?
Check out my video about how I become a Bangkok UA-camr.. my whole story there my friend… no easy ride that’s for sure
Thanks for the helpful info and good look around. I'm paying 26,000 for a large studio on Soi 4. No deposit or contract, so I like the freedom of that. I'd like a condo like yours, so I'm interested to know how long you had to commit to, and how much deposit you had to stump up? Looks great there for the street food and facilities too. I tried using FazWaz to find a condo - I made some offers to landlords, but they were ignored - probably because I wanted to do one month initially rather than 12 - need to make sure I like living there first. Ideally. Thanks!
On a 1 year contract.. I don’t want anything less to be honest.. condo searching here is a massive pain in the arse. 2 months deposit the same as my previous place 👍🏻 Fazwaz and hipflat are good
What's the name of your place where you are paying 26,000 /mth? I want to stay there too!
Is your studio located in a condo complex or how did you find it? I also want to rent like that, monthly with no deposit. Used to be easy to do that in SE Asia before gentrification of the third world took place. I'm coming to bangkok soon.
The video I've been waiting for lol! Nice condo, defo a step up from the last!
Get your ass back bro and come for a swim
this price ratio with space is perfect and inside the city!
thanks for sharing your experience
💯
Yeah I feel like it hits all the boxes for the price. The building is not perfect but its suits me perfect for sure
@@ProjectBangkok How much time would you recommend someone should spare at hotel to find a place to live once arrived in Bangkok?
@@ChrisMALUKAI I give myself 2 weeks and that was kind of enough I guess.. If you can work out what you want before you go then that really helps. I hope my videos can help in choosing locations somehow
@@ProjectBangkok Yes, it really helps A LOT!
I built a list of locations thanks to that so I know where to look once arrived.
I still got plenty of time though, but being well prepared suits me better.
I really love the view from your location but everything will depend on how much $ I bring to afford it ^^
0:49 Awesome pool , awesome views , awesome location and awesome condo … Well done on the move and I’m
Looking forward to seeing it in person and I’ll bring the mankini 😂 ..As always quality Vlog as usual. Peace ✌️
Oh sorry Paul... I put you in timeout for the Mankini comment 😂 only joking.. will have cold beers in the fridge when ya come.. can enjoy a sunset or something by the pool when ya come 👍
@@ProjectBangkok 🤣🤣🤣 definitely bro I’ll catch ya soon. Have a great week ..
Hey Rob, what an awesome pad! Congratulations - great price, and facilities are crazy good! Could you share how you found the apartment? Did you go via an agent (which one?) or did you walk into the condo and inquire? Thanks so much!
What the hell? $540 a month is a small ugly apartment with rats here
Ugly rats as well I bet 😂
I mean, the bathroom has zero privacy if you have friends over...
Ahhh yes.. my solution is to not have friends 😂 but seriously.. yeah it’s a little awkward I’m not going to lie.. need to think of a temp solution for when I have people over I think because I like to be able to look out when I’m in the bath

Best country to retire or be an expat is Thailand
I agree ☝️
that is the best designed place I've seen in a while! Pool area and coworking are insane and the apartment itself is lovely as soon as you put in some plants :) When can I move in haha?
I already got the sofa bed ready for ya 😂 Iv still not used the pool though 🙈
how are prices nowadays in 2024?
It’s refreshing to see the art work panels surrounding the construction site is not defaced by gang graffiti like it would be here in the US. I appreciate a society that respects others property.
Gorgeous condo mate! Wondering what sites you use to look for deals like that? ( that's if you don't look for em from agencies ) Cheers
Hip flat and fazwaz are decent.. I have A process of finding condos here to be honest that I’m going to cover in a video the next couple of weeks 👍🏻
Awesome video as always my man! Dope footage. And the condo is so, so sick. On the river 👌 ...and the facilities 😍
Yeah bro it’s all about Onsen and chill these days haha
So, it's a about a year later. Still liking it?
I don't live there anymore but it's still an epic condo. Stick by my review 100%
@@ProjectBangkok Excellent. I'll be moving to BKK in November. I'll keep my eye on this one. Great location.
Wow the impressive exterior doesn’t do your building justice. Amazing facilities and views. A Turkish hot tub, who would’ve guessed. Got me a bit concerned about my electric bill. Nice video!!
Let me know how much yours I’m David I’m curious. I’m just happy I have a bath now 🤣
May I ask for the contact of the agency to rent an apartment like the one in your video?
There will be multiple agents dealing with different rooms in the same condo blocks
540$ damn for a month? i thought its for a day at the beginning.
1 whole calendar month.. This is not a hotel so wouldn't give day rates for that on my channel. Would be cool to do some hotel collabs at some point though
hey Rob, hope you are well. What is the minimum lease period? A lot of these condos in Thailand that are priced nicely tend to require a lease period, please share this information as some travelers may assume that it is just a monthly payment that they can drop anytime when in fact there is a lease and upfront payments required as well.
This is a condo block not a hotel. I can’t work out why anyone would think that the price would be the same for 1 month as it is for a whole year.. min term is down to a landlord and that would require some google searching and reaching out to agents who would then ask the landlord. You won’t get a contract less than 3 months though because it’s a waste of time for them. It would also cost more for just 3 months.. again I can’t stress enough this is not a hotel
I looked at that place online, in my head I'd set it up almost exactly like you did for your desk/work space. The huge focus on couch/TV setups in these places drives me nuts. The overall layout was one of the more practical in my opinion, for the size. I did think the price was a bit high, but the listing I saw didn't do the facilities justice, and I hadn't noticed the location. Seems reasonable when put together like that. You aren't wrong about the airBnB side of things. Not having a ton of two week millionaires making a racket is worth a little extra too.
1st world 5 star amenities, 3rd world price
Exactly that 👌🏻
The building and amenities are dope af for sure... the room as you stated is pretty small but overall not too bad a deal at $500 a month. Plus the location is prime and is also adding to the cost.. you summed it up well.... the building is luxury... the condo not so much..
Personally the rooms to big for me (Single male living alone) haha I dont have any stuff so feels a little empty.. I saw some of the nicer rooms and they felt much better.. but also higher price.. I just cant get enough of the bath haha
Condo look good, but i think its important to mention to get this deals you need to sign 1 year contract, also probably pay some big deposit.
2 month deposit.. it’s not a deal.. it’s just the price haha it’s just that people want to have 3 month holidays here and will pay extra for the privilege for sure.. nearly double in some cases
Nicely done good video moving there with my Thai wife July 29 looking at property hub looks like same size apartment in your building is about 25 to 28000 the furnishings has a lot to do with the pricing but being married to Thai person, I have a lot of insight on how they do their pricing typically 10 to 30% over the asking. any particular real estate I should inquire I see multiple listings thanks. Keep up the good work.
How much are 'regular' apartments then, with lets say 3 rooms ~80m²?
What do you mean by regular?
@@ProjectBangkok A worse one I guess, for middle or lower class
Nice video! My only suggestion is to get to the condo first and then the bldg features. I am always frustrated when a video is titles "Condo Tour" and then the condo itself is 10 minutes in. Pools, gyms, etc don't interest me if I don't want the condo. You did a great job but could have gotten to the condo and then the features.
Thank You for sharing with us your condo and showing us the amazing views . Very good price and a good size for the money . Good find .
I wasnt to sure if i should share where I live again.. I did the same at Ashton and even met a couple of subscribers in the lift haha everyone was always super cool and a pleasure to talk too..
Dang that is very cool. I wonder how hard it would be to move from the US to here and find good enough work to live comfortably.
It’s all about that remote working life
@@ProjectBangkok Oh that's pretty neato. Would like to see a video of possibilities are there regarding WFH in bangkok.
I pay the double in Boston for a single room. I'm from the East, so I don't mind staying out here in the West, it's an experience and overall things are just better but I'd be lying if I said this video don't make me wanna move to Thailand and train some Muay Thai haha.
its not cheap tbh, more like just right.
Yeah I would agree.. cheap compared to western prices. Saying that.. the Thais would consider this expensive.. all relative
Happy new year,Rob.
Great condo for the price, and great facilities. They usually go for 22,000-26,000baht for that size in the Q Chidlom complex.
In one of your previous videos you were thinking of moving to the Rama9 area....Was there anything that put you off moving into that area?
Actually nothing.. Rama 9 is a wicked area and I may well move there in the future.. Im going to do a WTF is Rama 9 video soon because I love the area so much and want to share that with everyone
@@ProjectBangkok Thanks for that Rob.I ask because I'm looking into that area for myself.I'm especially interested in the Life Asoke and the Life Asoke Hype condos.Really excellent facilities, and close to several night markets.
Life asoke hype looked good.. nice views and facilities.. I’m heading to Rama 9 today to make that video 👍🏻 will be up in a couple of days bud
Hi there. Great video and tour of the condo. Just returned form a few weeks in Vietnam, BK and Pattaya. Plan is to move to BK in December for at least three months to escape the British weather. Can you assist with some contact details for an agent that manages the rentals at your condo please. Apologies I’m not on any social media so cannot connect there. Happy to exchange WhatsApp though and or may be a quick FaceTime to learn a bit more about your living experience there? I visited a few condos when I was there, but some seemed basic and lacked facilities. Yours looks amazing and the facilities are great. Thanks Gareth
Nice Condo mate. Can't wait to get invetd for a beer ;)
Beers in the fridge Franko.. welcome anytime bro!
I What give up all the menity's accept workout room for an extra 25 square meters. And you're right. I've watched many videos on Condo rentals and I'm amazed to never see anybody in any of these pools workout rooms etc!
That's a proper sized condo with a decent balcony (instead of the micro balconies of Ashton)
The one I had was deffo a micro balcony but if you check out the other room layout they have some big ones also at Ashton
Great Post Bro. I really have my heart set on Philippines, but I always stop by Thailand before going to Philippines. Bangkok has pretty much become my second home outside of America and I didn't even notice it. Such a good place, it's a bit much sometimes, but I love it
Some days I feel like escaping but then Pattaya and Koh Chang are just down the road for me to reset.. after 3 or 4 days away I miss Bangkok again and come back home. Philippines is beautiful! Can’t fault it for that.. it’s the infrastructure I don’t like as much there.. pros and cons
@@ProjectBangkok Forsure dude!
@@ProjectBangkok I plan on traveling to PH in June/July again, and will search for condos/property attorney, real estate agent in NCC, etc, so I can really get this ball rolling. I think purchasing a condo for $60k, at 28 is invaluable! Plus I work in Software Engineering, so all online. It just makes sense.
Cool vid indeed - I really like the facility and would like to rent it for a month. Can you share contact details of the building adminstration or get me in touch with someone?
No sorry. This is not a hotel.. and there highly against AirBnb here also.. You can probably still get an airbnb.. but will have to search and its going to come at a cost for only 1 month
I love the video. I had forgotten that it was the condo that you had moved into. I keep seeing pictures of the pool area and I had to ask.
I really like that there is a tub. I saw that there you had a fan in the corner. Would you know if it is possible to have a ceiling fan installed? I will be there in Bangkok in about 5 weeks. I would like to take a look at this condo building. Hopefully there will be an opening and the prices have not gone up too much.
I assume $540 a month or what
Yes per month 👍🏻
I am living here now coz of your video

Given that, as you say, nobody uses the communal facilities (such as the pool, gym, co working spaces) in these condos… I have always wonder why don’t they just make the condos themselves bigger?
Because if you were to split the space between all the apartments it would be negligible. No one uses them but for some reason they are an effective marketing tool.
@@JohnSmith-xq5kw I'm inclined to agree. 👍 Definitely a glitzy marketing angle that helps sell tiny units.
I'm planning to spend more time in Thailand this year, and will this need to work remotely, rather than just be on holiday. My work involves being on the phone a lot, so I've always been too self-conscious (and respectful of others) to try to work from a communal co working space... hence why I'd like to find condos with more space (for a desk).
I note that OP has a desk with dual screen PC setup in his apartment, so clearly he's managed to squeeze one in here. Just makes the place look less "homely".
I guess it's a mindset shift, that I'll need to make. Excited to try it out though. The travel bug is eating me inside-out!
@@davebx Condos in Asia always seem small to me. I usually see a nice condo with three bedrooms and think it would make a great one bedroom apartment!
From what you say you need, just look for an extra bedroom that you can turn into an office. Space wise, you get what you pay for based on location and quality so you could easily find a bigger place than this for the same price if the location isn't so important.
@@JohnSmith-xq5kw completely agree. I live in an apartment in the UK. It’s 70sqm or so, so would not be considered “big”, locally… but it’s approaching double the size of a modern Thai condo! Granted, old Thai condos can be significantly larger… although I often find that the upkeep/decor snd amenities reflects the age too. 🤨
I guess I’ll have to dig a little deeper in my wallet to get the right mix of modernity, location and space.
Thanks for the discussion, enjoyed hearing your viewpoint.
Makes no odds I think.. they just wake an extra floor at the top for the pools.. selling point 100%. Looks good in the brochure 😂
Cheers for the video, are you able to list out any additional costs
Electric, water and internet are the only other things I pay for. Electric about 1200, water 200 and 1gb fiber 750 per month 👍🏻
@@ProjectBangkok thank you sir

I was only paying 17k that’s cheap for this level I think
So cheap! My uni accommodation is $600 AUD while the dimensions being less than half that. Also cockroaches come visit from my neighbors😑
Sounds like you have more cockroaches than me then haha
When I went to sell my house, the real estate agent said get rid of all the shelves,... The more space the home had the more sellable it was. Maybe the same holds for your semi-minimalist condo.
Good logic.. actually never thought of it like that
What's the deposit 1st last or 3 months how long the lease
Wow. What a pad!! How the hell do you get a long term visa though! :(
Rob, how's the humidity in your apartment? Are you not afraid to leave your computer equipment, macbook, desktop and so on without SILICA gel, or put your devices in special containers where moisture does not get in?
Nahhhhh that’s never a problem here no matter where your staying. Aircon drys everything to death including your throat haha 😂

Pretty much a studio, but the sliding wall is clever. I hate tubs though and I'll never understand the Asian thing of windows into bathrooms.
Nothing like a stupid bro lol not with the bathroom like that’s and wardrobe section.. size.. balcony.. so on

Biometrics rock. How's the soundproofing? Those are pretty Base pounding speakers you have there.
Sound proofing is terrible here. Ashton was wayyyy better. I think I got empty airbnb both sides of me so I don’t care lol and most only listen to music mid day
@@ProjectBangkok haha fair enuf thanks for the great informative vids
Rob, when you listen to music on your KRK monitors, don't you annoy your neighbors? How is the soundproofing in this condo? Can you hear everything, even how you sneeze?
I don’t think anyone actually lives next to me on that side.. for the most part I only listen to stuff loud at reasonable time as well.. I can hear people on the other side though while I’m trying to sleep and this is a problem for me.. I never had this issue at Ashton.. something worth keeping in mind. It’s clearly an Airbnb as some lads had a crazy party there one night and I could hear every word.. sounds like they had a good time though 🤣
That's more than my salary. 30yo poor man-thai governance officer . what am i even doing.

Got an Airbnb here, moving in Monday ( month long stay so legal). Can you fit in that bathtub? 🤣
I can.. it’s actually a good size! And I’m 6ft talk haha
The condo is small , but for the price it’s pretty cheap for the facilities n amenities. I would prefer a 2 bedroom plus living n dining area for US1- 1.2k , that would be perfect.
There’s plenty of options here for that price range.. easy done 👍🏻
Rob, I'm currently watching your episode with professional DT-770 headphones, and I hear a constant background hum inside your apartment. Is the noise coming from the air conditioner or from the street? How do you react to constant noise, because it is impossible to live for a long time when you do not have silence in the apartment?
I’m used to the noise now and it’s not a problem for me.. the noise would have been the aircon and perhaps even just the rumble of noise from outside as well.. rarely hear silence. It’s not an issue though
odd question, most other Thai UA-camrs can't answer this one. I have seen Coke ads and bottles in various vids, do stores also sell Pibb Xtra if they have coke products?
I have never seen that in my life.. but now you have mentioned it I bet I spot it in the first 7/11 I see haha if I find it ill let you know for sure
That’s immensely cheap! Here in Singapore this one would be 3000$ mental
Would be the same in London I think.. crazy ah
sub worthy vid
Thank you sir
Great video, thanks. May I ask how are you able to stay in Thailand for such a long time? Work Visa, Education or something?
There’s plenty of long term visa options to live in Thailand full time. Just find the one that suites you
How much are you paying for Utilities and Wi-Fi? Thanks.
800 for crazy fast fibre with true. 1500 for electric 👍🏻
@@ProjectBangkok Damn, electric's costly! Guess the fibre and electric costs offset the great rental prices.
awesome place, I wish I would know how to setup a company for selling digital goods in thailand and just move in that place
Do some research bro and make the move.. it’s easy done probably
Hi ,I will be moving to Bangkok for a job from the 20th .. And I like this condo very much. My office isocated at Bhiraj Tower.. Will the commute from this condo to bhiraj Tower be convenient? Thanks very much
That’s a lot of google searching in my part bro.. something to be asked in the member community tab I think 👍🏻
Where I live a shitty 1 bedroom will cost you a minimum of $1,300 USD
Fully feel you there.. Lived in London for many years is a crappy shared house that still cost me that much... 1 room.. shared bathroom.. awful way to live now I look back
And here I am paying $3.7k a month for a smaller 1 BR in San Francisco :D
Yet there’s still comments that’s say that this is expensive 😂
Wow, this really seems much less expensive than a comparable condo in Pattaya. I would have guessed for this square footage and amenities, you would be closer to $800. I love the wrap around pool, you could exercise forever.
Oh really? This is a little bit from the main BTS to be fair.. so maybe a condo away from the beach would also be cheaper I don’t know 🤷🏼♂️
do you have any 3 room condos videos? we have a family moving to bangkok next year.
No but its something I will look into
