The best talent/skill in baseball is throwing your roster of pitches exactly where you want it to go. Almost zero MLB pitchers do that anymore. They are more worried about visible ball-in-hand tipping the pitch. If you can throw precisely where you want to throw you don't have to worry over anything else. The batter has to hit a ball that he doesn't know if it is spinning or how fast or if it is a ball or strike.

The whole “ he’s hhdding the ball the whole time “ concept is cool and all . And I get the theory behind it on how it could be seen as harder to hit but it just not the case. It doesn't really look that bad. Plus it's slow motion so it usually looks worse than it is. If you've ever watched a picture pitch in slow motion or even just a baseball player throw in slow motion, their elbow looks like it won't survive another throw. This guy's wearing a sleeve and it's from the back so the angle's not great, but if you get a front or a side on slow motion of the pitchers arm it's so much worse looking.

If the hitter turns his head toward the pitcher where both eyes are receiving a 3-D picture of the ball at the same, this gives the batter an extra tenth of a second of time to hit the ball. I invented this in 1959 playing for the Jacksonville, FL. Team. One game I got 3 of the team’s 5 hits.

You can see it behind his knee from the batters box and if he throws a different pitch and it is on the side of his knee (where you can’t see it) that would definitely be a tip off. Hopefully it’s the same position each time
