The best talent/skill in baseball is throwing your roster of pitches exactly where you want it to go. Almost zero MLB pitchers do that anymore. They are more worried about visible ball-in-hand tipping the pitch. If you can throw precisely where you want to throw you don't have to worry over anything else. The batter has to hit a ball that he doesn't know if it is spinning or how fast or if it is a ball or strike.

As a hitter you are trained to pick the ball up out of the hand in his throwing window. So he can make that ball go to Tokyo and back but it still is going to come to that same throwing window before release.

For reason when I see a video about a pitcher hiding the ball I think of Jared Weaver when he was a rookie. His delivery had him hide the ball behind them then throw it. I recall David Ortiz was asked about Weavers delivery and mentioned that as a hitter it's a different look and can cut down on your reaction time to various pitches. Weaver started 9-0 or something like that that year.

I’m not a pitching expert by any means but it reminds me of Tim Lincecum’s arm angle but with no power from his back leg. It’s just all arm whipping.
It doesn't really look that bad. Plus it's slow motion so it usually looks worse than it is. If you've ever watched a picture pitch in slow motion or even just a baseball player throw in slow motion, their elbow looks like it won't survive another throw. This guy's wearing a sleeve and it's from the back so the angle's not great, but if you get a front or a side on slow motion of the pitchers arm it's so much worse looking.
