dude, i just play on console with my TV speakers, and i could STILl have heard someone behind me... i mean, thats a major mechanic of the game, the audio ques are what alerts you to enemies nearby
That guy was deaf dude, there was no explosions or gunfire around him within' a 10-20 meter radius and he still couldn't hear Jack running behind him less than 5 meters away. I can use iphone earbuds and I would've heard anyone that creeped up on me.

Never understood the gripe with snipers. I'm a medic myself, almost exclusively, but this is a game you play to have fun. If people have fun sniping, they should snipe. Why should they pay $60 for a game if they're not going to have fun with it?
If you don't see how 1/3 of an attacking team, hanging back at base line, trying to get a long HS (Who's going to be revived anyway.) will absolute ruin the game for the rest of the team, you don't understand BF1 game mechanics very well.
There are actually good snipers out there, but it's the hardest class the be useful for your team, and being useful and cooperate is the essence of the Battlefield genre. Hence some frustration when people treat it like their own personal "Sniper-saving-private-Ryan" jerk off.

Worst player AU is a guy on Xbox One called Scudze. 40000 kills in the light tank, waits for it to respawn every time, plays no other skill oriented classes.
I knew a guy like that on BC2/Vietnam and BF3 on PS3. The guy wait for tank, never go out of the spawn.
Once got killed in BF3 from my own spawn flying jet by the enemy team stationary AA. Thought he was cheating and checked his battlelog. He had over 300 hours in that AA and a ridiculously amount of kills. Next top weapon? AUG with 3 kills... The guy literally spent 300 hours shooting down planes and helicopters never even leaving spawn.
Swansniff2 Wow. I don't know what's more sad, 180 days spent sitting in that thing, or the fact that it took him 26 hrs to get 296 kills in an LAV. It kind of makes you wonder if he's disabled, like he can only use one hand or something?
Claude, dude believe it or not I met that wanker on operations yesterday, killed me 14 times! I was on a bloody mission to kill that guy. After he killed me about 10 times I finally got him back to then my heart drops as he spawns in another bloody tank! I just about killed myself until the game ended...

Now who's the worst battlefield player? The guy who ran the entire map, flanked jacks team, killed a bunch of jacks teammates, survived a bunch more of jack teammates to kill jack in the end. Or is jack the worst battlefield player for letting his teammates die on a flank that shouldn't have happened?. The field of view is shit in this game, yes you can change it but did this "plaisir" did they have it changed.

From experience I can say that unless you have surround sound system or good gaming headphones then you cannot always tell if someone is running behind you. You can hear the footsteps but not really tell where exactly it's coming from.

I think it's the just the opposite. Console players have no recoil while on pc, it's worse than Famas in Bf3. I know because I play on pc and the recoil is shit.

level means nothing in this game I'm level 51 and way worse than him in 106 hours of game time I've only just reached 1900 kills (17 kph) with a K/D of 0.65 (in my defence Bf1 is the first fps I've played in over 20years)
As a prank, I went up to the front line of operations and lied down for at least 15 minutes, sniping german soldiers. The tanker didn't notice me until he began moving and it was considered roadkill.
