    Many thanks for this new backstage session.
    @Bec: As you can see, outdoors, next to the sea or ocean, looking to the horizon, there is hope. Many thanks for recording the session, from different angles.
    @RaRa: Many thanks for posing in this session. I have already told you so many things… here there is another one: if you keep on raising your arms, contort your body and move your neck like this, you are going to melt even both North and South poles. You always give to the audience all your body and soul.
    @Peter: many thanks for showing photography with natural light outdoors.
    @Peter: I have been thinking about the blurred backgrounds, and after watching these two Fiji sessions I have a consolidated point of view about it, that I will try to describe in the following line: have you ever watched those movies, mainly for children, where at the beginning a story book is opened and theirs characters came to life and become real?
    @Peter: this session brings doubts to me: BW versus color. Video in color and photo in BW?
    @Peter: I am fully aware of the negative impact of being close to salted water for the camera.
    @Peter: one of the focus in this session is the position of the Model and Photographer in shadow or Sun. I would always think that the Model in Sun, and the Photographer in shadow, but I see that there are other valid combinations. Other focus is the high/angle of the camera regarding the pose of the model; I asked in one of the podcast sessions.

    Tip from MarcusPix I just learned for Bec and RaRa. When you are in a tropical location and your hair gets frizzy try to find some distilled water and wash your hair with it. It will get rid of pretty much all of the frizz. Might be tough to find some places but it's worth it if you are doing photoshoots.

    • @PeterCoulsonPhotographer

      Thanks heaps for the tip

    • @PAPIKen0728
      @PAPIKen0728 Рік тому

      You can always make your own distilled water by boiling and condensing the steam.

    • @NickDelDuca
      @NickDelDuca Рік тому

      @@dorsetdumpling5387 Depends on the vibe you are after in the photos, I know Peter is confident in the images he's getting so I figured I would share the tip if it's helpful. I am by no means saying there's anything wrong with what they got. Hair gets super frizzy in tropical locations and sometimes that's perfect if you want that look but sometimes you don't so that's when the distilled water comes in. Better to have the knowledge to get a different look if that's what you wanted.

    • @NickDelDuca
      @NickDelDuca Рік тому

      @@PAPIKen0728 yeah definitely. I'm sure it would be tough to get enough to wash your hair doing that though. Some hotel rooms or resorts don't have a kitchen.

    Awesome work of you two! And great usage of natural light, as always. Learn a lot from this. I wanted to ask you if you don’t shoot in portrait on purpose or do you just like landscape better in your pictures. I realised that you barely ever turn your camera in to portrait position.

    Fantastic shoot! Peter, when you are first working with a model how do you get them to give you that "Far Away" look in their eyes so consistently? Is it just training, or is there some explanation you use to get them there? In the past I've asked models to look past the camera, or to some imaginary dot in space to try and get that look, am I on the right track? As usual I love the use of shade to augment from full sun or overcast and that mottled look is just stunning, of course RaRa may have something to do with that "Stunning" part!

    I gotta say many photos are kind of average. I don't see much creative use of the insane scenery. The model is standing in front of the palmtree that hides so much of the scene. Or the background is blurred 3:25 so much, that it could be anywhere. same situation in 4:17.
    The model is really pretty. With good models almost everyone can take nice photos.
    Many photos are simply overexposed and have bad composition at the same time. 4:35, 5:49, 8:28, 10:37, 12:01, 13:54
    At 7:10 the chosen composition of the background is not that interesting. The model is great of course. She's really good with her expression and her relaxed mood and loose body posture. In that scene it would be a better use of the background if the Model sat on the stone wall on the left, where the other camera is sitting. Using all the palmtrees as a nice environmental bokeh and having the model sit there, leaned forward with closed eyes or similar variations of all possible ways she could be sitting.
    If you'd see the photos just for themself, you wouldn't see mich of the beautiful area.
    I noticed that we don't see all photos. I'm sure there are more photos that are good.
    5:12 is a really nice shot.
    I think Peter has an insane understanding of how light works! That's why I'm surprised to see so many overexposed photos.
    What I admire ist the fact, that Peter actually does it and travels to that place and gets it done. That's really cool! That effort is kind of rare I'd say.
    And you were there for probably more days than just this shoot, so I assume that there will be more photos to come!
    Looking forward to it :)

    I am sorry for crytics, but i missunderstand why did you use so poorly that beautiful location and nice model? There was a plenty potential shots that you haven't make, you could ask your model step in the water, sit on those stones or lay down to make a couple shots in the sand, put a shoreline in the background - it would look beautifully blured and give you a nice perspective. Besides in all your frames she was just looking straight into the camera, and overall all photos look more or less the same. Another thing I have noticed is that you haven't done any editing, why? The sky is overexposed, the colors are poor and dull, I just can't catch the reason
