- In this video, I'm restoring my faded convertible top on my 2003 Ford Mustang GT with Forever Black Gel. This is the best product for the money. It's very, very easy to use and the results are extremely satisfying. I ended up applying two coats and I'm still left with half of the bottle.
Thank you for watching and following along.

Wow, the way it even glistens in the sunlight. What a transformation
Did my Jeep's ragtop and plastic fenders yesterday and it looks great. Easy to apply. We'll see how it holds up.
I've got a 4 door jeep. Does one bottle contain enough product to do the entire top?
@@TheFussball17 Yes, I did the top and also the plastic fenders on my Wrangler and still have maybe a quarter of a bottle left over.
Would you recommend this product because I really need it for my 2015 comfortable Mustang If it really works
@@rickydeleon6987 Yes, I'm happy with the results. It remains to be seen how long it will last. I think they recommend applying it yearly. It's easy to apply.
So how long did it hold up?
Looks great ..I use it once a year on my roadster's convertible top.
Buenísimo, great job. Here un Mexico is $50 bucks but i think that worth it. Thanks a lot!
Wow great results.
Thank you!
Nice to see another immigrant happy to be American. Thanks for the vid, mate.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
After two years, what do you think? I’ve heard a good bit of negatives about it over time
Update from 2weeks ago
For my cloth top-is different from vinyl -I cleaned with 303+303 waterproofing
Add light coaton sponge -make 3 strips twice as long as the sponge and next strip one length of the sponge. Brush to overlap in same direction
Come back next day for 2nd coat - make sure to brush of.dust- then repeat and finish the whole kit. 95 Corvette don't see icon to download photos
Ah, so Forever Black is only for vinyl, not for cloth/fabric?
@@thehspace you can use it on fabric
Do deep clean and about 3 coats let dry in between
Aye man, you need a good cut n compound on the paint. That black could look much better! Nice ride 🚘 great results
Cut AND compound?🤔
@@olliebt6761 cut n polish? 🤣 my B lol just can't stand that black paint all swirled up.
@@mikecostello9671 haha it’s all good bro😆
Do you have any pictures or videos of a stay fast or cloth top? If the car is taped up would it be better to spray it to look even, or do you still recommend wiping it on?
Is this a dye ? i have a blueish looking convertible top and i would like to make it black like this. If it is a permanent dye i am going to order this ASAP !
This is not dye, but it does have darker tint in it.
Thank you I just bought a bottle for my car
Nice review
What is the capacity of the bottle? 8 FL. OZ. 236 ml?
Hey Chef! How it looks like after one year? 🥰 in the video it looks GREAT!
It will fade away slowly, but you can reapply whenever you was your car. One bottle can last about 6 times. I just washed my car and used the coat again.
@@AmelsGarage thanks man
I will order one for my S2K
Can this get on white paint?
If you wipe it off right away with a damp rag before it dries, it's not a problem.@@tooquick6
I’m having the same problem with my car . Can I wash the car after using this product ?
Yes you can, should last up to 12 months. I’m really happy with my results, too look brand new
how long did it last before it faded?
Car is 03 i bought it with roof faded. I used the gel and Vegas weather is still holding about 80% of its original dye. But I’ll be hitting it up again in June. It’s worth every penny, you can apply 3 times out of the bottle. I’m going heavy and 2 times a year. It looks sweet for the price it costs.
Hi new subscriber. do you think this would work on a tan top. trying to make it black for cheap lol
It won’t work, all this is light dye to make your black top blacker.
How long does it last?
About 6 months in Vegas sun. But i did reapply every 3 months. It’s not expensive and little goes a long way
my question is: Did you put 2 coats with one bottle of the product? I really would like an answer. Thanks
When i apply i put 2 coats, the battle lasted me 4 applications
Should i wash the top by water before i put it on?
Yes, wash and dry
My brother when u see true the top is time to get a new top period
I wonder if this will work in any type of convertible top materials, mine is canvas/cloth.
Not sure if it works on cloth.
Will 1 8oz bottle be enough for a 2 door sports car
I already used it 3 times out of the same bottle. Still have left over for one more time. I reapply after each wash.
Is your top vinyl or canvas? I have canvas and want to change tan to black...
This won’t change your color. I think you have to get dye.
Is this a vinyl top or fabric?
Vinyl top.
Se puede usar este producto en la parte interior de los autos, las partes de plástico?
I’m not sure if can be used for interior, it’s made for fabric.
It looks "shiny"
Has that "armor-all" look.
The "flat black" of the canvas is lost, however it is very "black"
I'm not sure I like that. Gives it a "vinyl" look as far as I can see by camera.
It dries to flat black.
