Strange results. This is my furthest flying disc, love my Grym. I bought a backup and now I'm curious if it is a flipster. Wonder if the sort of see through K1 plastic is less stable than the solid K1. I haven't got any of the transparent type and my discs fly truer to their numbers.

I’d be curious myself to see if another flies like this or not lol. I could see someone getting good distance with that grym but it’s one that wouldn’t be as predictable fit be as another disc would be lol. I’d be interested to know about the transparent vs non transparent

Mine is solid and pretty damn understable as well - even with my very modest power.

I've thrown a lot of discs from most companies and the very best headwind disc for me has been my Innova Star Mamba. It flies great in most all conditions but it seems to love a nice stiff headwind. Put it on a slight hyzer and watch it crush out there on a nice s line or just throw it flat for a straight shot:)

Gryms are not all created equally. I have more than a dozen of them from pre flight number beef cakes, to ones as flippy as your copy. As someone who loves Kasta, its nice to be able to have so many different flights from the same mold.

I can see the usefulness of them but I think maybe a marketing side of it being good if they can tell if it’ll be OS or crazy Understable. Like for instance I’m looking for a straight to Overstable driver and I’m told a grym is that then pick one up like I experienced and then going oh that is not at all what I expected then I can see someone just going somewhere else for a disc instead of another lol. But I know prodigy has had very similar problems and I dealt with that being on street team for a few years. People need to prodigy getting turned off of a certain disc because it’s suppose to be an Overstable mold but the runs coming out in the more recent years have gotten less and less OS.
Either way it was a good flying disc but not what I expected lol

Throw that disc to the side for a year and then throw it again, the difference will shock you. New gryms are super flip, but aged right, they become amazing. The plastic hardens as it ages and becomes more stable. If you bag a new one and throw it every day you won’t see it stable up much, but if you let it sit for a year it’s night and day different. I have a 2016 that I have to throw on anny to get any turn at all with 425 power. No joke, I buy new kasta discs all the time just to throw in the closet and forget about. I just lost a stable grym and pulled one out of the closet I bought little over a year ago, which I threw in the field a couple times when I bought it and got the same results you just had, now full power flat throws are beautiful s curves with a left finish, perfect.

Lol that’s pretty wild if that’s how you get stable kastaplast. I don’t think I’ve heard that trick before lol. It’s like unseasoning a disc haha. I’ll have to see if I can do that. I have a couple Reko I haven’t thrown in a bit. Might let them sit for awhile to see if they change at all

@@DaddyDelpDiscGolf not sure how stable a reko will get, but the faster discs definitely get stable, I have a pre flight number falk that is more stable than any lots I’ve ever thrown. This is also why the big X is so stable. Aside from the 100 or so kasta discs I have in the closet, I’m constantly scouring eBay and fb for older runs, it’s amazing the difference between new and old kasta.

The Grym now lists it's turn and fade -2 2. The Grym x is -1 3.

Definitely would be alittle bit closer to it’s numbers at those numbers. It was way more understable than I anticipated lol

Nice honest review, it's finicky for me too. Wanted to like it but hard to rely on it.

Yea, it flew nice but it’s a disc that has too many chances to be unpredictable to be a disc that I would call a go to. It’s still good but if I ever bagged it then it would be a disc that would just be one for specific shots but it just doesn’t do anything better than any disc I currently bag

You look vey disappointed in it. I have one coming in the mail, I bought it on the flight numbers and I think I'm going to suffer the same fate as you

It’s one reason or the main reason I dislike flight numbers. Gives me a way I think a disc will fly in my head and when that doesn’t match I don’t like it lol.
Now I’ve heard some gryms will fly like flight numbers and some won’t so maybe you’ll get what you’re looking for
