Put the crankshaft in the freezer for 1 day. Heat the crank bearings with a hair dryer or heating gun for couple minutes. Take crank out of freezer quickly dap little WD-40 on it and slip both ends in with ease. Tighten bolts. Walla NO TOOL NEEDED! Works every time. Thank you, I am here all day :)

Best way I've found for putting the crank in is to just put it in the freezer for a couple hours. They slide right in!

@Bill Francis correct. I actually just did another one the same way. Freeze the crank for 2 hours, and took a heat gun to the bearings. But didn't heat the bearings to much. I could still touch them without cussing. The only friction is getting the seal on, which I also didn't use anything fancy for. Just pushed the crank though as the case came out of the box. I'm a machinist by trade, if tolerances are correct, "press fit" parts should slide onto eachother when the proper heat/cold is applied. It's just science lol

@Bill Francis then once the halves are bolted together I just tapped on the crank to center it in the case. Just by eye. You'd be surprised how accurate they are! Just make sure to move quick lol, but slow enough to ensure it's done proper

You don't need that special crankshaft tool to put the crank case half's together I just built two of these saws, one the same MS660 the other MS880 I align the gasket. Put some oil on both sides of the shafts and the bearings. And put both sides in and put my weight on top of them on the floor pushed very hard and they snapped right together

@@RaquelGoade No instructions at all!! It's a big puzzle with no instructions. You will have to either watch videos or look up a schematic on Google. If you're really mechanically inclined, you'll be able to do this without any instructions

Pretty trusting thinking that spark plug is actually a NGK that came in a Clone kit

    • @shrunkenskulloutdoors

It actually is an ngk. They use a lot of different company’s to supply parts and now with the new pro line they have they even use different jugs and pistons from other company’s.

just a thought about the spark plug...it has been a problem in the aftermarket auto parts industry concerning counterfeit parts...keep this in mind on this saw spark plug.

Have been running this saw for almost two years now and have not had a single issue with it. Hopefully be making some new videos with it soon. Have something new up my sleeve and was the reason I built this saw. I have been very impressed with it and how well it runs. I was very skeptical when I bought it but so far so good.

Just came upon your channel as I was watching another. IMO an extremely well made video with great visibility of what you’ve doing. Also great without background music and unnecessary blabbing just good oral instructions! Thank you from Nebraska. If I may ask where are you located. I’m a stalker.

Why didn't you show how to install the bar studs? Another video from someone else shows him thread lock the studs and install before putting the halves together. Both ways seem wrong because if he locked the studs in how did he get them back out to put the other stuff on? You skipped the stud install. My problem is I saw the new England saws video install the studs with the long end and flat shoulder to the holes for the studs. That seems wrong because they have a tapered shoulder that looks like it makes to a tapered recess for the stud holes. Can someone please clarify when they should be installed and which end of the stud goes in first? The short end with the tapered shoulder should go in first to mate to the tapered recess correct? The manual doesn't specify or show how it's supposed to be done. Only torque spec and just says install it. Just looking at it tells me the taper shoulder should mate with the tapered recess...

Love your videos, especially the crank installation. You can tell that heating the cases and dropping it in with a prayer isn't going to yield the same results. I'm waiting on 4 kits and looking forward to building them.
