I don’t know why Buhari’s statement should be an issue for anyone not planning to snatch a ballot box. Agreed that Buhari misspoke, but it shouldn’t be a national debate. What we don’t want to do is to send a wrong signal to ballot box snatchers that’s it’s a good thing to do.

1. Punishment for robbery
(1) Any person who commits the offence of robbery
shall upon trial and conviction under this Act, be
sentenced to imprisonment for not less than 21
years.
(2) If-
(a) any offender mentioned in subsection (1) of this
section is armed with any firearms or any
offensive weapon or is in company with any
person so armed; or
(b) at or immediately before or immediately after the
time of the robbery the said offender wounds or
uses any personal violence to any person, he
offender shall be liable upon conviction under
this Act to be sentenced to death.
Going through this Act he quoted, you see that Keyamo lied. The word, "...upon conviction..." makes it abundantly clear that death at the spot of a crime is not constitutional.
My point... You are wise... Keyamo needs some sense. The declaration by the president neglects the place of the law and the constitution. It simply says that the law and the constitution should no longer be binding on the citizens

Another addition is this, the Electoral Act (2010) doesn't recognise or support that ballot box snatchers should be shot on sight in Section 129, subsection (4) says:
(4) Any person who snatches or destroys
any election material commits an offence
and is liable on conviction to 24 months

Hello Nora, i guess you're a Nigerian and that you might not like what's happening in the country except if you belong to the 1% of the almost 200 million Nigerians. Having said that, the question then is why would anybody disrupt election by stealing ballot boxes, causing harm to innocent citizens. Maybe the President shouldn't have given such order, but why would we continue the politics of force, using armed gunman terriorise pple because some idiots want to rule by force. Keyamo has only stated what is in Nigeria's constitution. The lawmaker has no evidence or facts to back up his argument. An accused person is deemed innocent until proving guilty beyond reasonable doubt in the court of law. However, this is not applicable to Nigerian except to the develop world.
In as much as no one is supporting snatching of bailout boxes, the president have no right under the law to kill an offender when he/she has not been charged and tried in competent court of law as against Kiyamo's assertion.
What you hear Buhari say and the so called San upholds is what had played out in the killings of Christians and the Igbos by the herdsmen Bokoharam and the president is doing nothing.
Buhari's government had failed the right thinking citizens of Nigeria. I am not talking about the blind followers who sees their leaders not as servants but thin gods. There are so many people in Nigeria who would rather choose criminals and murderers as their leaders and supports them until death instead of choosing few respectable men and women. Nigeria is a joke and that is why Nigerians are being treated as animals wherever we go. This talk, talk, talk without actions would remain the destiny of Nigeria till the end of the world.
If the government do the necessary, the youths would not be used as thugs to snatch bailout boxes. The government and the religious leaders should create jobs to engage the youths or one day, presidential threats and caricature military might of Nigeria would not prevent the youths from carrying out revolution.
