The 100k a year is a good salary for a caregiver. His mother thought that she was worth the money to be cared for with love. Too bad the son didn’t care about his mother and couldn’t be bothered with caring for her.
This guy is the pitts no wonder his own mother did not leave him 1 cent serves him right its called Karma do not go back to him op hes sfter yhr money what a deadbeat😮😮😮
If he was a grown man and couldn't help his (unloved) wife take care of his mother, why should his divorced wife take care of him now? No one is going to throw a pity party for him.
It was just wrong to give him some of the money. That was very frustrating in the story. The mother obviously didn’t want her son to have anything and she wanted her to have everything because of how he was.
Wow!! This is crazy!! The ex didn’t care enough about her mother to even check in on her while sick while her DIL treated her MIL like her own daughter, good for MIL❤️❤️❤️
He can claim half of her assets and she can too a smart wife would’ve waited till after the divorce to tell how much she was paid because I sure as hell wouldn’t have told him
If this was a real story it would be really stupid to tell the guy you're about to divorce that you've got a million dollars lying around.Especially at the decides to tell the IRS that for the last ten years you've been getting paid and never claimed taxes.
Sydney gives out way too much information. Now he knows where she lives he can camp out on her doorstep. He's nothing but a brick wall and she owes him nothing. His mother saw right through him and prepared accordingly. What a woman!
Right. He kept saying she did the bare minimum (which we know she did more than that), but if that were true and all he did was ask her to do it, what does that mean he did for his own mother? People who think like him disgust me.
Rhett: "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!" Sidney: "You should...since your mom left everything to me! Now, GTFO of my house and my life!" Karma, with a side of crow...it's what's for dinner 😁🤣
The mom must have been so disappointed in her own son and legalize her will. He's such a mommy's boy. Both women are better without the man having money and access to the woman. She really does care after her passing
He didn't want her as a wife anymore, then suddenly he wants to be back with her so he could spend money his mom gave his wife....yeah, good one, fella.
Rhetts response to Sidney after his mom's passing, was like the response in Gone with the Wind. "Frankly , my dear, I don't give a damn." 😮😢 Thankfully, his mom saw right through him, and thought only of Sidney's wellbeing.❤❤
Yes, but in GWTW, Scarlett had exhausted all of Rhett's patience and good will and basically killed all love for her. This Rhett acts like he's innocent instead of a selfish bastard, like he's is.
The cost of a treatment was more than you could afford but you've got almost a million dollars already even before his mother left you any money why didn't you just pay for your dad's treatment
Good morning from Iowa, where Summer vacation has started and I still get up at school time. That son of mine just doesn't understand the concept of sleeping in. 😂
The first time he told me to shutup, he would be eating his meals through a straw for the next 2 weeks, bc i would take a very heavy object to his mouth
I didn't think it made any sense, giving him anything. He couldn't have gone after her earnings from caregivers as he didn't support his wife at all. Their finances were never shared, if they had been He would have seen it every year during income tax filing. He couldn't have gone after the inheritance because that's not marital property/money. He didn't have a leg to stand on, to contest his mother's will, not with all those texts he sent Sidney; it really wouldn't have held up the divorce much at all, and the idiot would have still had his job. Actions have consequences, and that moron got his in spades.
He married her to get a caretaker for his mother. He wouldn't let her have time off to visit her own parents. now he's after the money his mother left the person who cared for her and about her.
The mother left the wife the house in her will. She left her life insurance to the wife's parents. And, she paid the daughter in law $1M over 10 years to take care of her. The only reason that the wife gave Rhett $500K was so he'd sign off on the divorce and not make any further claims on the estate. So, he got a lot of money to GO AWAY. But he came slithering back a year later after having blown through every cent he was given.
People like Rhett will never understand why their relationships fail when they think they’re such a catch - aside from the obvious fact he’s an egoistical jacks-hole, Rhett thinks everyone runs on transactions…its only worth doing if you get something material out of it
Edit: Oh, definitely odd, but it could be connected to agreeing to low income housing. Lots of areas do that. Many areas do reduce property taxes for the elderly if they've owned the property for an extended time and the property value (and thus the taxes) have increased in the area.
Why would his mother leave him anything when he didn't do anything to help with her care?.. he didn't even care that she died.. his reaction was "and"..
Of course the man that didn't care about his mom thought it was useless letting his wife he treated as a slave/live in nurse for his mom see her parents she desperately missed Rhett is a terrible man, he lost everything thanks to his own faults & he's lucky OP was even willing to split the money with him. He has the gall to start projecting onto her & making accusations as if he ever cared for OP & his own mom. I kinda hope after OP blocked him & he was yet again left on his own he was forced to go to the shelter. At some point he manages to get enough money through some struggling that he moves away & struggles elsewhere cause he knows he has nothing left where he is & it's no use trying to run into his ex & her family even if he tries to run into them to beg.
Rhett is an AH. He said he didn't need her anymore because his mother died. Then, when he finds out she's getting all his mom's inheritance, he wants her to stay? Nah, son; stop gaslighting! He didn't give a damn about her! He wouldn't even let her go see her parents! She's better off without him! And his attempts to guilt trip her about the money -- PATHETIC!

Rhett was shortsighted he did not think of relocating to another state or country with a lower cost of living. He could have retired young if he was wiser. He used her to save money to enjoy his leisure time and lost everything in the end.
A cheapskate son who couldn't lift a finger to help his own sick mother, wouldn't pay for a caregiver, but married to make his wife take care of her deserves no inheritance.
Even though the character didn't ask to be paid, it was so nice that her mil did that for her. Also paying her $100 hourly is very helpful since the op had to quit her job to take care of her mil. Not everyone would do that and many couldn't do that jof they need two incomes comibg in to support themselves with home, bills etc. I don’t know the percentage of single I cknes vs doubke but some struggle without multiple income sources. I was very surprised she split the inheritance but it was a very smart move. Even if she wasn't a professional care giver service, she definitely gained the title of professional in my opinion. ❤

$100k a year for a live-in care giver is actually a good deal for the mother. A part-time caregiver could cost more.
The 100k a year is a good salary for a caregiver. His mother thought that she was worth the money to be cared for with love. Too bad the son didn’t care about his mother and couldn’t be bothered with caring for her.

Rhett " She's my mother "
But he forgot it's her money 🙄
Sidney was more of a child to her mother in law than her own ‘husband’
Mom knew what kind of man her son was. Good for her.
Rhett how does it feel to be disowned and left nothing?
Jesus Rhett has no shame for his actions and his mother really cared about Sidney.
Rhett seems more angry about how his ex-wife is doing better without him rather than she got his mother's inheritence
Rhett's mom is definitely ashamed of her son.
I was going to comment “*was” but she’s probably still ashamed of him from heaven
Rhett's mental gymnastics are making me exhausted. Lol
Poor Rhett saw the ship with gold sail away b4 he could board lol

Also because it was earned during the marriage it's considered a marital asset, he would automatically be entitled to half.
I would have kept my mouth shut
@@Jasonsmelissa Nope. It would be considered inherited assets and is thus not subject to property division.
Why would Rhett GIVE UP THE HOUSE INSTEAD OF HAVING HOME & LAND APPRAISED?!?!? It seems the house was his only inheritance...
Nice bit of irony: the homeless "don't know the value of money." After he blows through hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Rhett was just upset he didn’t get to take all the money and run away. That man needs to quit projecting onto other people
You find out who a person really is when someone dies and there’s insurance and a will involved. Rhett is straight evil!
