As a parent, dark headliners are great. The D-Max has certainly improved, still not at the Ranger level but at $15-$20k cheaper (current special) it could be well worth it!

Not at ranger level????that's right they are much better!it's sad how so many people are like sheep racing off to get a ranger when in reality they are again haunted with gearbox issues and any independent mechanic will tell you after 100k klms ......poo town 2024 car of the year ford ranger!

Personally, I'd go for the 'Granite Grey' D-Max in X-Terrain spec for a driveaway price of $69k - MEL post code. I'd then do a remap and take the torque to 580Nm, job done.

@@mikehunt9993 Here we go again another hater of different models or manufacturers. You have made all these claims of issues so how about you actually back them up with facts not hear say. The actual issue rate of the new ranger is one of the lowest of all cars you can find that on the government web pages such as links from the ACCC.
In the same place you will find all the faults with the Dmax such as a class action for the front-end cracking and other issues including the gear boxes which they share with the Hilux. Most cars these days are pretty darn reliable from all makes, the only fault that is really evident is the ill-informed and too lazy to investigate properly before posting rants. When you are spending some serious cash you need to investigate.

I may go for this one instead of a ford ranger wildtrack, ford is almos 10k more and because the lack of stock the car dealers love to increase the price as they want...
And this looks very nice outside too.

    • @Anh1984Khoa

there is a reason why its always low in stock and it has nothing to do with 10K price tag different, Ford next gen ranger is a better vehicle that why it is the best selling Car in Australia and just best selling Ute.

I’m looking at a bare bones SX tray version. At the moment I’m tossing up about getting the old model at around $30k or go for this for about $33k all up. It may be basic tradie spec but it’s still better appointed than my 2008 i30 with the exception of the door trim (which doesn’t worry me). Leather seats etc don’t worry me, I’m happy with cloth.

Thanks Matt - the new Triton is worse than the previous gen - Ford have poor reliability and a woeful service culture which you shouldn’t claim is a good vehicle - the Isuzu legacy of once being tied with Holden means I’ll never choose one - the Amarok has the annoying left side placement of the indicator binnacle which is a major deal breaker for me - I own a Toyota Hilux with conventional handbrake and no likely to fail digital instrument cluster so will never consider other makes.

The Amarok is a rebadged Ranger, so of course carries the same reliability concerns. But if it’s just the indicator stalk placement you’re worried about, you can just install a Ranger clockspring assembly which has the indicator stalk on the other side

@@YZJB OKthamks Alex - another brand to avoid - the con is that manufacturers are depending on the 80 percent or more uninformed or not mechanically savvy to sell of lot of inferior vehicles - for example they’re promoting the Jeep again and Chinese vehicles via polished ads that mislead people into thinking that the car must be good - marketing has a lot of power and so many Ford sponsored journos tell us the Ford Ranger is a good choice when we know it’s not - I think it’s only Toyota and Mazda left to choose from for the broader segments.
