i have beaten this map about 7 times now. but every single time the navidson maze is presented to me in the bedroom i am always like "NOPE NOPE NOPE NEVER NOT IN A MILLION YEARS" that place is just far too anxiety inducing for me i am truly glad it doesnt play any major part and is completely optional
I don't think you have to even do anything special to see the overgrown house, it's the default bad end, whether you miss the plane or not. All you need to do is set the house on fire and finish the level.

@@jaymxu Huh? Overgrown house ruins are mutually exclusive with that ending as you can't reveal the hidden fence plank at all with your house burned (and subsequently overgrown). Are we talking about the same thing?

the closet maze and specifically the giant pool and the big room with the staircase triggered something within me, they spoke to my soul. I think I had a dream not too long ago with similar imagery

This and the playthrough have been amazing to watch! I think I did manage to find a thing you didn't show (or I missed you show somehow). In the brutalist complex, you can jump off of the ledge with the pumpkin into a glowing window to find a megasphere inside, you can see it through the curtains. I forget if it's in the big or small version of the apartment, though.
I've seen a few vids on this now, there's a really good one that's in 3 parts that a mapper disects and goes into detail. But i haven't seen what your referring too, Im going to investigate this next time I'm there. Edit, Davidxnewton is the mapper.

I ran around that maze a bit. It's confusing but all I found was some doors that close and reopen themselves after you open them. Then you can't use them again. Wierd
So I've somthing that may not have been discovered but might not mean anything. So that blue sphere you can see but can never get, if you noclip out and grab it. 1, the front door has been walled over and 2, you can run back down to the boiler room and into the basement for the sphere to be there again to noclip out and pick up again. If it's just using different zones for each version of the house it seems like there's a trigger somwhere that respawns that blue sphere.
Has anyone tested the console when the TVs switch to static on Channel 03? Channel 03 used to be the channel you would be on to hook up a console to a TV with a coaxial cable.
Damn the QR code gave me full body chills and tears from my eyes when I checked it two weeks ago. I think its safe to say its impact is diminished by this issue.

But have you looked at the doomworld thread? The creator of the mod has a folder of supplemental material he posted with it in the first post, it includes the obituary for his friend that originally created the map. You should take a look at that, but you can skim/skip the journal if you want (it is more helpful for playing and deciphering stuff in the game). Then search the thread for the word "QR" and you'll see the link the code led to.
How did you get the infinite staircase to be so bright? Mine is nearly pitch black, and GZDoom’s sector lighting settings don’t seem to affect it at all.
If you poke your head into the weird black and white room and then go straight back to the room with the closet, you should be able to access the maze. I've been able to consistently get it to show up that way

There is a steven nelson in Oswego il, who is married to an Amanda nelson (S+A?) however there's no proof steven is dead and the center where they held a celebration of life cannot be found. Besides... How could steven had taken a picture of his own obituary?

@VeritySpott The closet in the small bedroom upstairs, after you picked up the blue key in the attic, has about a 1 in 11 chance to lead to the maze.

There must be more to that closet maze, you don't need to die in that pit in order to get to the hospital, you can do it from anywhere.

I think the maze is just supposed to unnerve you, what with how dark and quiet it is.
None of the playthroughs ever show the house of leaves maze that is first on this videos list. Crazy it is not needed for the final puzzle of the map

I increased the gamma
On gzdoom I hit the show all options in options then had some brightness contrast and gammar sliders.
You gotta enable both Lights and Brightmaps at the same time.
Is it possible to burn the house in the mirror world? Could there be something different where the QR Code would normally be?
No, the door to the room with the power box is shut in the mirror world under any circumstances.
