Would be nice to have this available in crossfire. I don’t like having to use a module with my x9d+, and I’d like more switches than are on my tango 2.
Tracer/crsf full size remote. You hearing us Trappy! Thank you for this remote but I don't fly tracer. Love my T2 but a full size with similar switche types as T2 and no touch screen not necessary.

Look at that they can play nice in the sandbox
Looks awesome, exactly my favorite size.(I use Jumper T12 Pro right now) Buuut I see few issues, at least personally for me: - USB placement. For charging is not a problem I guess, but not the best place for playing in a sim. - lack of switches at the top. I use them for arming and turtle mode.
Initially thought they succeeded in making a 4 year old Taranis. I guess there are some thoughtful touches, but like the TX12, I don't know what market they're really aiming at. Shows what a huge impact the TX16s made.
What they're really doing is leading the pack in integrating the new 2.4G tech, which is more than most anyone will need unless they're going for some real long range, at which point they will have their choice of module. Some people really like the TX12 too, especially if they're on a budget but looking for full-size functionality. I'm a T16 guy myself, but the T-lite is tempting for a more portable radio.
So have they abandoned crossfire or what? Looks like they'd much rather just do the 2.4ghz now, and right after I was convinced to purchase crossfire lol

Firmware update error tbs mambo, I don't know what to do. The update stopped at one percent and nothing else happened. The remote control does not turn on now and the screen just lights up when connected. Only the Tracer transmitter is reflected in the Agent. Help me. Give step-by-step instructions on what to do. Thanks!
No idea, I've not seen that here. I've looked online and can't see a lot of help in the forums either. I suspect that you need to go into bootloader mode to get out of the issue but without the radio in front of me, it is tricky to offer any advice. Best of luck!
@@Painless360 Yes, it helped to switch to bootloader mode. We connect the wire to the turned off equipment with the key "PAGE" pressed, and through the agent we load the firmware again.
Hello, How can I remove a switch in menu 4/11 of the TBS Mambo for a channel (e.g. CH 10)? You can assign all built-in switches and gimbals to the Funke. But how can I remove the switch completely so that no switch can be seen next to the corresponding CH symbol?
might actually switch form my frsky xlite to this one when it comes out. i hope there is like a slim case thats barely bigger than the radio, since i hike a lot with my drones
Is there something similar to the Tango2 but with more buttons? For FPV RC cars the crossfire system is the only viable way to go really but the Tango doesn't have enough switches or sliders for all the lights and servos on board...
Definitely should have tracer and crossfire. All I ever heard is how awesome crossfire was and that it was the absolute best. I finally switched to CRSF about 6 months ago and then Tracer comes out. Its like TBS was sitting on the Tracer until Ghost came out. I bet if Ghost hadn't of came we wouldn't have heard of Tracer for a while.
Nice I cant seem to get it conected with OpentTX Companion 2.3.3 when I press Page and Menu Button at the same time and power button the screen lights up but not getting any text information like write Firmware, Restore EEPROM etc am I doing something worong ?

Should just need to copy your "Models" directory to SD card. (either FredomTX, or OpenTX) In TBS launch video, they hinted at having OpenTX support about time units ship next Wednesday. (They decided not to ship with OpeenTX as it has not been fully tested .. and FredomTX has been used by beta testers for last 3-4 months, so is solid)

I have a frsky taranis x9d+ with the crossfire module and use headtracking as well. All of my quads that aren't tbs, are frsky, will I have any issues switching to this controller? As far as I can tell, I won't, but just wanted to ask in case I'm overlooking something. I really like this transmitter!
@@GioFpv I own both and the throw is identical. Full stick deflection is exactly the same on my qx7 hall gimbals and my tango 2. The range I mean is identical. If I press the stick all the way down it’s the exact same degree as the tango . Your thumb travels the same distance.
@@djs134 you must have a special edition then,….cos I own a tango 2 and an x9d and the gimbals are different. The stick deflection of the tango 2 has less throw then the Taranis. And I’m 100% sure I don’t have an unusual tango. You might be mistaking man.
@@GioFpv yeah I mean I have no way of measuring it so maybe I’m wrong but when I lay them on a table and go full deflection up or down the angle is absolutely identical I don’t have a way of measuring what angle full deflection is but it is absolutely the exact same on the standard qx7 and the tango 2 for minimum and max deflection. I think the qx7 entire gimbal is just made larger so people just assume the deflection is more .
Man just bought a radio :( Sorry TBS as far as crossfire inside.. I like full size module with wifi or the one without. With wifi Can see real time bird on map (via WiFi) and has Becon(gps cords sent back to radio..even if battery disconnects) the lite version only has Becon but allot cheaper.. But cool can see on separate device real time map position.. if fly planes.
Have to say I love all things TBS and when the Tango 2 came out I grabbed one straight away and never looked back ( my all-time favourite radio ) However I just don't like anything about this Mambo, it may turn out to be a great radio but I will never know, just don't like the look of it one bit, and I would never use Tracer anyway, too many horror stories, just ask Bot grander.

Maybe I'm slow but I just don't get it. TBS built their reputation on long range and did a damn good job of it and even if you don't fly super long range the peace of mind in tough environments was well worth the extra price. I fly analog and everything with a VTX of 450MW and above on Crossfire. To me it's a no brainer even with GPS. I bought the Tango 2 but soon tired of it's lackluster completeness and the disgusting miniature screen (older eyes). Not complaining there but what is this? A not very long range version (AKA much less confidence in difficult conditions) with fewer catchy switches and much less performance? Why would I want this, hell I'm the kind of guy who buys some stuff just because it's cool or different enough that you just have to have it in your collection. Don't get it and not going to get it. Open to criticism if I've missed something here, please set me straight if you can.......
I ordered this radio to replace my qx7. Hoping it will fit my hands better, and recently upgraded to crossfire which required modification. I can use my qx7 for my airplanes and the mambo for all my quads, not to mention trying out tracer.
isn't the tango 2 also a monochrome screen? By clunky switches do you mean the regular metal ones vs the tango ones that are more like game controller ones?
@@definingslawek4731 yea I like the tango switches, much more durable and easy to use. Tango has a small screen so no use for a color screen, it’s nice to have a full color big screen on a full size radio.

It's got JR bay, so can plug in your CRSF module.

Not sure. All of the smaller 'game controller' style radios have compromises. Don't forget that you can use the trims as buttons too... Best of luck!

This radio only has Tracer built in so you'd need the modules for other recievers for the JR Bay... Best of luck

Tango 2 has full throw, which is the same as the new mambo

You would probably want this is you are a racer or short to medium range freestyle pilot. The low latency of Tracer is great for that.

Those switches are the standard .. the tango has the clunky ones if anything haha. I’m not a fan of the design of the Mambo but

@@wiebel1991 , why do you need a color display? Unless it shows video feed, as in Tango 1, then it's pretty useless and makes it more expensive.
