The Mares Magellan BCD is a lightweight BCD weighing in at an impressive 2.1kg. Stripped down to its basics the Magellan still functions as a modern wing-style BCD but at a fraction of the weight.

Hi , and if you compared with the Aqualung Pro HD Compact, which one you prefer ? Thank
As you are on Mares, l have gone back to using my Mares Power Plana fins (white translucent /black foot pocket) from 1984, still damn solid, just changed out the heel straps for Spring type. Amazingly rugged
Looks good. As a once a year holiday diver, who only owns a mask, I'm tempted.
I am interested to see how this gets packed in a small bag like how would it fold up after being deflated how much space would it need, thanks for the review

How would you add a knife to the integrated section?! Thanks :)
The weight pockets are not removable I guess? Im looking for something like that, but without weight pokets as Im one of those seemingly strange and few people prefering a weight belt.
How many pounds of lift?
How durable would it be for instructors? I know a few looking for durable back-inflate BCDs.
And how would it compare to the Mares Bolt?
I think Bolt will be more durable.
I had this bcd and used it for 100 dives it’s a great warm water travel bcd when you don’t require a lot of weight in pockets
I wore out the shoulder clips but these were easily changed to a more sturdier clip
A decent travel bcd it rolls up to nothing and is so light
What happens if you put in more weight?
Im currently 5 Kilos maybe I ll try putting it less in the future
@@tkuzztkuzz9911 5 kg should be fine.
24 dives later waist strap just fell apart....
So it’s a scuba pro hydros pro, but with a built in pocket and cloth instead of rubber. Just shrunk your review a bit.
But less than half the price!
@@pauldawson2902 yep, that should be part of the review! :-)
No it's a oceanic islander 2 with QR dump weight
