I got the Mel Thompson Sydney Grace bundle, when she first came out with it, unofficially. Now it’s available on Sydney Grace. I like Mel’s better, it’s a little grungier, with some deeper shades and a portion of the proceeds will go to her family, now that she has passed. It is VERY similar and was inspired by Mel’s annoyance that the Retro did not match the mini Retro, like many of us. I used Mel’s yesterday and my eye look was very similar to your first look.
Considering ND pretty much used Mel’s palette she made a year ago to make the retro glam ( Mel’s is still better) anyhoo, I think it would be very stand up of ND to donate some of the proceeds to Mel’s family as well, since she pretty much copied Mel’s exact vision for this palette, her larger version of the retro released last year looked nothing like this.
I am really into this color story it just feels very me. It has all the colors that I love the most and beautiful packaging. I'm very on the fence between this and Sydney Grace's bundle though. I like ND's palette better, but buying from an indie brand seems like the better choice plus there are more shades and it supports Mel's family. I feel caught between my head and my heart lol
You made a good point about skin tone, I never understood when people said lighter shades aren’t good for deeper skin tones, it’s the opposite, lighter shades pop on deeper skin, while their disappear on light complexions.
I love the colour story, I love greens, I agree definitely needs more depth, and we have so many pinks in other palettes, but I don't think there is much versatility within the palette. I feel every look will be that sage/mint type of look

I must live under a rock because I just discovered this palette at Ulta 😅. I am fair skinned with dark green/blue eyes. I can't wait to try this one! I have many neutral palettes, so finding this cool toned palette was exciting.
I am so in love with this color story, and while it feels more like a spring palette I am here for it. These colors are perfect for my skin tone. I have a lot of grey undertones to my skin hair and eyes, so these colors are prefer t for me. Thank you for the demo.
This is gorgeous, thanks for posting. I love my mini retro to death, but honestly this midi palette looks a bit too cool toned for me. I prefer greens that are a little grungier and more olive-y. Also the three pinks here are all bubblegum pink, I wish she had done a peachy or beigey option too.
Same. I love mini retro because it's wearable, sage green and shimmery peachy pink... this is like dusty mint green and red. Not the same vibe at all to me. I'm sure lots of ppl will simp over it bc it's ND but it will fail the test of longevity.

Hi Morgan! Thank you for featuring the Retro-Glam. I agree that this new palette is related to the Pastel palette. I have ordered it and I look forward to finding out whether I will love it as much as the mini Retro, my favorite quint to create daytime neutral looks. I feel this palette (finally) puts an end to ND fans’ request for a midi version of the mini retro - there are greens, pinks, beiges and a bit of sparkle. I am curious to know what ND is cooking up for spring. I echo other comments and hope that she will expand into other products - though consumers are very fickle nowadays so it is becoming quite challenging to stand out within an ever growing pack of creators. Giving me Neopolitan ice cream vibes! Not certain I would be brave enuf to combine the green/pinky shades together! A bit out of my comfort level! I did purchase this palette tho because I like the color story very much!

this is going to be the first and last pallette I'll buy this year (I'm really great with low-buy!). Like you've said, the color story is quite unique and speaks to me more than ABH's. I actually own the Venus XL2 palette, so I'm glad those two aren't so similar.

Super intrigued, greens look like they would be on grey-ish side on me, which is a blessing on my weird skin tone, where a lot of deep colors even thinned out get too deep to quickly. and light pink is what I like about retro, but won’t ever buy it because it too deep pink. Even it is not gonna work out 100%, at least it is not another orange, brick red or red pink pallet. Finally something that is more wearable for vampires like me 😅 The looks are very pretty on you
Thank you for your review, I really like the looks you created. I think this is a palette I would use in conjunction with another palette because of the lack of deep tones but that's not a big issue for me because I have so many other palettes. The color story is so unique and I will be buying it.

Your beautiful brown eyes look AMAZING against the green. I am more fair with blue/green eyes, so I'm not sure I can pull off these colors...but I couldn't resist and already ordered! I think I'll likely keep it simpler and use the neutrals as a base, and just add pops of the more brightly-colored shades. It is a BEAUTIFUL palette, though. BTW, I was born in 1969 and grew up in the 70s and 80s. I remember "pink and green" being a thing for a while when I was little...late 70s/early 80s, I think. I had a little 70s-style pants suit that was white with pink and green watermelon slices all over it. Eleven-year-old me LOVED that outfit. 😂😂😂
I think the palette is adorable but I went with SG for these colors. Since I already had several of the shades it just made sense to me. I love both brands but money this time of year is mostly reserved for granddaughters in college. OMG I looked at this on Beautylish earlier today and talked myself out of buying it. I really don't NEED another pallet. But. One look at it in your video had me gasping lol. I did decide to buy the Mel's Sidney Grace version of it as of now. I am trying not to buy but I made quite an exception. I have not bought my dream palette, this palette and new release of Pat.
I'm upset with myself for opting for the Sephora discount vs buying it direct from ND. The value for me is greater in having it asap vs saving a few dollars. I'm looking at just shy of 2 weeks before I have this beauty is in my hands. Patience is not my strong suit. With that being said, even though the midi retro palette was not what was expected, it is still a lovely palette. It sits in my top drawer and I use it all the time. I can't wait to add retro glam as a her drawer mate.
This isn't a color story I'd usually go nuts for but I had to order this when it popped up in the app for 20% off. It's honestly something different in my collection and I'm really looking forward to playing with it.
Isabel Thanks for the review Morgan. I’d love to see you compare this pallet to Mel Thompson Sydney Grace New release. I believe Sydney Grace said the colors in the pallet were picked by Mel giving her interpretation of what she thought this pallet would be like if it were to come out. As someone who has hooded eyes, I need more than one true matte shade to deepen up my outer corner. I understand there are other ways to place eyeshadow besides a transition shade in the crease and deeper color in the outer corner. However, if you have hooded eyes other shadow placement (halo eyes, deep smokey colors on lid, etc.) Is usually not visible unless you close your eyes or look down. Every eye look I would do with this palette would look very similar due to green being the only deepening shade. For this reason, I purchased Mel Thompson's version from Sydney Grace. It is a well thought out color story, $10 cheaper with a coupon code, and IMHO a better overall formula than ND. With that being said, this is a beautiful color story. Morgan, thank you for the honest review. 🙂
I got this for the Sephora sale, not so excited for this color story but I do love her formula and don’t have something really like this in my collection. I really wish this was tacked on to the My dream collection because they were launched so close together. Would love to see her expand her line and maybe do more complexion and brow things. Her foundation is really nice and I wish she had a better concealer. Her lipsticks are also nice
I feel like she is about to come out with a new foundation and concealer/complexion products because they've been on sale for so long. I'm really excited if she does though!

This one scares me though because your review and Angelica's seem like you like it but could live without it? Am I wrong about that? Is it the depth of the colors or the similarities in the greens? What do you think 🤔 makes you not so excited or inspired now?
Even though I thought this was really gorgeous at first glance, it still hadn’t had me sold. But this video changed my mind! I’m still a little dubious if it’s gonna look good on my fair complexion, but I definitely got obsessed with the swatches, the shades, the finishes. 💚💖looking forward to seeing it featured here in the foreseeable future!

Got mine today too!! Can’t wait to play w it! The green in the mini retro just does not work for me. Recently I reach into the green from ABH nouveau. The Lime crime also looks muddy on me. Looking forward to trying this color story. I feel like the tones are separate enough to be not as muddy as the other palettes.
4 sage green shades 🫠🫠🫠! I mean, it’s cute and the quality is there but… kinda monochromatic and not any duochrome shade. Still not sure about getting it or passing
Funny... in the US you can order it. In Sephora Germany and France it doesn't pop up yet. And that for a palette made in Italy .... hopefully they have it saturday when I go to Germany. But that minty green look is stunning on you. Wonder with it will do with my blue/grey eyes.

That's so interesting. I actually think this feels like a wintery palette because it has an icy vibe to it. The greens and deeper pink also feels a little like green and red. Plus, I literally have these colors on my Christmas tree. Lol

I unfortunately do not own any Natasha Denona palettes, I just can't ever bring myself to spend that much on a palette anymore, but I do love the color story because I'm a huge fan of pink and green together. And I have to say that seeing this palette on your video, kind of makes me like it a lot more, because when I saw it on the pictures on Trendmood and everywhere else online... I feel like the palette itself looked very washed out. But you are absolutely right that it does look a lot deeper and not so ashy in your video. So maybe if this palette ever goes on sale or if somebody makes a dupe for it then maybe I'll pick it up but I'm excited to see your review on this tablet only because everybody else has been basically saying they don't care for it at all. the mini retro and the abh nouveau are my favorite palettes ever rn so I had to pick this up on sale the first day ❤️ I am super pale but cool tones are great for my skin tone so im not worried abt getting washed out!
The mini is a beautiful color combo of olive and peachy pink. The midi is minty greens and pinky-pinks, to me, the combo is not as pleasing as the mini. I duped the mini! As always, great review!

I havent been excited about makeup this year till i saw this palette! I like that it isnt too dark because i dont use dark shadows

Thanks for the review Morgan. I’d love to see you compare this pallet to Mel Thompson Sydney Grace New release. I believe Sydney Grace said the colors in the pallet were picked by Mel giving her interpretation of what she thought this pallet would be like if it were to come out. The pallet looks real nice & I hate greens but looks nice 👍

As someone who has hooded eyes, I need more than one true matte shade to deepen up my outer corner. I understand there are other ways to place eyeshadow besides a transition shade in the crease and deeper color in the outer corner. However, if you have hooded eyes other shadow placement (halo eyes, deep smokey colors on lid, etc.) Is usually not visible unless you close your eyes or look down. Every eye look I would do with this palette would look very similar due to green being the only deepening shade. For this reason, I purchased Mel Thompson's version from Sydney Grace. It is a well thought out color story, $10 cheaper with a coupon code, and IMHO a better overall formula than ND. With that being said, this is a beautiful color story. Morgan, thank you for the honest review. 🙂
I will say it to the end of time, ND's cream to powder formula makes the BEST eyeliner!!
I got this for the Sephora sale, not so excited for this color story but I do love her formula and don’t have something really like this in my collection. I really wish this was tacked on to the My dream collection because they were launched so close together. Would love to see her expand her line and maybe do more complexion and brow things. Her foundation is really nice and I wish she had a better concealer. Her lipsticks are also nice
I feel like she is about to come out with a new foundation and concealer/complexion products because they've been on sale for so long. I'm really excited if she does though!
I do like these colors on you, you always look beautiful and I love how you talk/teach us during your looks and tutorials. I was over the moon when I saw this sneak peak, then I saw the Sydney Grace bundle, choices 🤔☺️ I am pale, blonde and 39 and I love cool tones! This one scares me though because your review and Angelica's seem like you like it but could live without it? Am I wrong about that? Is it the depth of the colors or the similarities in the greens? What do you think 🤔 makes you not so excited or inspired now?
Even though I thought this was really gorgeous at first glance, it still hadn’t had me sold. But this video changed my mind! I’m still a little dubious if it’s gonna look good on my fair complexion, but I definitely got obsessed with the swatches, the shades, the finishes. 💚💖looking forward to seeing it featured here in the foreseeable future!

I have the blue/purple palette but it would be nice if there was a midi of that.
You did a good job with these colors. I have a strong idea this won’t be my favorite eyeshadow palette but that’s okay. I do wish I had waited to order it from Sephora. Oh well, it is what it is.

The green in the mini retro just does not work for me. Recently I reach into the green from ABH nouveau. The Lime crime also looks muddy on me. Looking forward to trying this color story. I feel like the tones are separate enough to be not as muddy as the other palettes.
4 sage green shades 🫠🫠🫠! I mean, it’s cute and the quality is there but… kinda monochromatic and not any duochrome shade. Still not sure about getting it or passing
Funny... in the US you can order it. In Sephora Germany and France it doesn't pop up yet. And that for a palette made in Italy .... hopefully they have it saturday when I go to Germany. But that minty green look is stunning on you. Wonder with it will do with my blue/grey eyes.

That's so interesting. I actually think this feels like a wintery palette because it has an icy vibe to it. The greens and deeper pink also feels a little like green and red. Plus, I literally have these colors on my Christmas tree. Lol

I unfortunately do not own any Natasha Denona palettes, I just can't ever bring myself to spend that much on a palette anymore, but I do love the color story because I'm a huge fan of pink and green together. And I have to say that seeing this palette on your video, kind of makes me like it a lot more, because when I saw it on the pictures on Trendmood and everywhere else online... I feel like the palette itself looked very washed out. But you are absolutely right that it does look a lot deeper and not so ashy in your video. So maybe if this palette ever goes on sale or if somebody makes a dupe for it then maybe I'll pick it up but I'm excited to see your review on this tablet only because everybody else has been basically saying they don't care for it at all. So I'm definitely excited to hear what you have to say and to see what looks you create! 💖💚💖💚💖

the mini retro and the abh nouveau are my favorite palettes ever rn so I had to pick this up on sale the first day ❤️ I am super pale but cool tones are great for my skin tone so im not worried abt getting washed out!
The mini is a beautiful color combo of olive and peachy pink. The midi is minty greens and pinky-pinks, to me, the combo is not as pleasing as the mini. I duped the mini! As always, great review!
