I think this is the clearest demonstration I have watched, and it really helped me to see how you gradually built up the picture. I was very interested in how you added the deeper waves in the water, judging the timing of the drying process to allow the waves to recede. I am going to try and sketch something along these lines and follow this process. Thank you :)
Definitely the best watercolor series on You tube, taking people like me - who have struggled with watercolors - through a real time, step by step video that is so clearly explained and demonstrated. Thank you Mr. Wilmot for your generosity in sharing these amazing techniques in creating such beautiful works.
Thank you for walking us through each step and displaying your pallet and color mixing. It was very soothing to just watch and have you jump in here and there with commentary. Looking forward to seeing more. Beautiful harbor.
Andrea batten took the words right out of my mouth ... I am very happy I saw this. I have seen it in the past and thought there was no way I could even try to do something this nice. its been about a year since I started watching and learning about paints and brushes. I still have so much to learn but, I think I am ready to tackle this project. you cant imagine how much I appreciate that you took the time out to show everyone the steps... it's awesome! can't wait to get started... thanks so much!
Please paint some more! I am so grateful that someone knows how to teach. You speak clearly, explain in detail, your colors are fabulous and I strongly like your subjects. More boats, land scrapes, or whatever you are inspired to paint. I will be watching for sure!
I very much enjoy watching your demos. I just started my journey into watercolor, and I find your demos very educational. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Lovely painting, and nice, subtle commentary; very thoughtful with the qu and a at the end! Thank you very much for posting this, Mr. Wilmot. I learned a lot.
Just the right sort of demo. Having the colours named at the beginning and mentioned during mixing is a great help. Has given me more confidence to make the move from drawing to watercolour. Thankyou.
Thanks for watching. If you fancy a go yourself, why not consider being a Patron via my Patreon site. For a small pledge I set regular painting projects and you get a video critique back from me in return. More info at www.patreon.com/timwilmot . Thanks again.
Tim, This lesson is awesome! Thank you for your detailed explanation throughout the process. I am a beginner, and just finished my first series of classes through our local adult ed. I have completed several of your demos via UA-cam and really enjoy your compositions. This water/boat study was really fun to follow along. Count me as another fan.
Absolutely WONDER-FULL.....having watched you painting. A beautiful painting and how fortunate I feel having 'found you' via You Tube. Looking forward to more - one learns so much simply by watching/listening. Thank You So Much !
very beautiful work, very clear explanation even for those who understand little English, thank you very much. You are a great teacher. The composition is very beautiful
I want to try it again with my colors, I guess it does not bother you.It is that a boat painted my picture and I think yours will help improve mine ... thank you for answer
Thank you for taking the time to do this demonstration. And a huge thank you for showing how you sketch (most instructional videos skip the initial drawing and that is so important to me) and a huge thank you for showing the entire process in real time. It's incredibly helpful. And.... your paintings are beautiful. I am registered for your live demo this Thursday. I can't wait !!! Thank you....
Wow! Just found you today and am glad I have! I really think your palette/paper setup is groovy. Showing your mixing and loading techniques is an art form in itself... I got a really great sense of this. Also, I liked the actual real drying time delays... It really stressed the importance of being patient. Many other UA-cam publishers cut and jump ahead over these intermediate drying time and it is confusing and I often get into trouble with my own attempts not waiting long enough. I am finding that water management both on the paper and in the brush is what this is all about. You are a fabulous teacher and I really appreciate the time and effort you have spent for us.
Ye thanks Tim. Drying time is something that is skipped over by video teachers and not understanding drying in watercolours leaves beginners with muddy colours.
It must be great to know what instinctively to leave out! The photo was actually rather cluttered but your painting is fantastic. I enjoyed watching this masterpiece emerge.
Oh excellent! I just love it. It certainly is a tribute to your fine artistic talent but also shows that others can do it. I am just so pleased with seeing your tutorial. Lovely even though I know it’s been 5 years.
thank you for your generosity in sharing this full demo. It is my third one of your and I plan to watch each one. I am learning so much, particularity observing your brush strokes. Beautiful light on this. M

Just found you on UA-cam. Devastatingly brilliant in all aspects. Your 2nd set-up is probably the best I've ever seen and your commentry is so relaxed. Screen shot with the pallet is superb and the sound level is perfect. Clear as a bell. Look forward to many more demos. Thank you from Pete in Blackburn, Lancashire. Have fu
It blows me away how you are able to do so much with so little. I am so far away from being able to perfectly portray light the way you do. But I'll keep trying. Thanks for doing these videos.
happy to be one of your new fans ! I began to learn watercolor myself recently, and your vedio do help me a lot. Both your painting and the demonstration impressed me.thank you so much!! I 'll keep on following.

Beautiful painting Tim and one of the clearest demonstrations I've seen. They are a joy to watch and to see your palette in action makes it seem possible 😀. I'm very new to watercolours and the single biggest problem I have is fiddling with the paint once it's on and I create mud. I'm hoping that planning a picture like you may just save me. Thank you. (Ps mop brushes look awesome)
