I can do almost anything in SQL, but obviously Looker is super more flexible, but I don't know how to ask it to do everything I need. Hello! thanks for this. Im trying to filter data by the end of each month (I have a data set separated on a weekly basis). Do you know how I can create either an end of month dimension (showing the data on the last day of each month) or an end of month filter? Ideally to make it usable via a control for graphs
Thank you for the great video. I used it create a "days to expiry" for a membership table and it works great. I also wanted to have a scorecard showing how many members have an expiration date within the next 30 days but it is not working. Tried using filters and COUNT_DISTINCT(username) for the field but not getting the right answers - any thoughts?
There is a record count available in all datasets. Do you have have a member in the table more than once? If you do create the count_distinct(username) in the graph itself rather than the dataset. You cant create aggregate fields in the dataset as the calcs are at row level. in the graph go to add metric then add field.

I find it very difficult to control and compare a series of output if applied Week (text type). If there any simple way to create a field to convert Week in text type to Week in Date type? Thanks.
@@analyticswithadam can we do it auto without selecting? For next month jul’22 no need to select its automatically change from Jun’23, may’24 and jun’22 to jul’23 jun’22 n jul’22
@@tejasuv12 Yep the filter can be set to last month, last qtr , etc... If you want a couple of different months on the same viz you will need to create calculated fields.

Click Resources in the Top toolbar. Manage Added Data Sources - Edit on the Data source and then change the type on the data column

You can set these in the filters
