Richie is in his prime years, scoring for a top end premier league club, fighting for his place, improving and a picked starter of the national set-up of one of the strongest footballing nations on Earth. Why would he retire this Summer?
Richarlison is a backup player at Tottenham, but I don't know if he will be satisfied. He has a lot of ups and downs and does not have much influence on the game. He doesn't score on his own or is a smart player. It has strengths in heading, but other than that, there is nothing better than Sonny. Even though Sonny scores goals, he is an unselfish player. If his teammates had finished well, his assist number would have already exceeded double digits. Regardless of nationality, Sonny is a much better player than Richarlison in terms of career and ability. For TOT, Sonny is a more important resource. Because of Sonny, it is difficult for Rich to become a starter. He values playing as a starter. If he accepts playing as a backup, don't let him go. However, Richarlison won't be satisfied with being a backup player. Unless Sonny gets injured, it is unlikely that Ritchie will be a starter.
That doesn't mean Richarlison is a bad player. He is a good player. However, Tottenham already has Sonny. Good thing Richarlison is happy with the backup. If he is not satisfied, he should be let go and a new backup striker should be brought in. At the same time, we need to support Sonny by recruiting good wingers and midfielders. With every player in any team there are highs and lows. Richie has had a number of lows, times that frustrated us, yet we are now starting to see him coming to his better self. Patience is often a winner, negativity is detrimental!! We the fans need to be patient and supportive.
