Totally agree with articulation being a big selling point for ranking model kits. The only downside is when there is TOO much articulation making it impossible to line things up for a simple symmetrical standing pose. Good list. I would've placed the Barbatos maybe one place higher hehe :)
holy shit. i totally got the 00 raiser and it was less than a year ago i got into gunpla. i built so many gunpla last year (like over 20 or so) that since the rg 00 was one of the first i ever built, i totally forgot it was made that recently. but the 00 raiser rg was deffinately my favorite rg. i built like 5 real grades. that one is deffinately the best.
I literally just bought the HG RX 78-2 (Revive) and the RG 00 Raiser today. I love the RX, and can't wait to build the 00 Raiser. I agree with most of this list. There's a few I would have replaced in the runners up section, but that's about it
My Top 6 of 2015: 6. MG Double X 5. RG 00 Raiser 4. RG Astray Redframe 3. Hyaku Shiki 2.0 2. MG V2 1. HG Graze (the grunt one) I just realized that there were only 2 RG releases in 2015 and the Wing Zero Custom was released in 2014. Damn time goes fast.
Im so glad i have 4 of those kits, i could not find the 00 raiser RG, but i bought 2 RX7802 MG the origin, and all that because of your reviews, im from Peru, and its very difficult to find a kit that is worth it, but again, thank you for all of this, keep it up man, you ar helping a lot of us who are really into this hobby. Thanks again.
Soon I am going to be buying the HG Barbatos plus two optional weapon kits from IBO, to add both to the Barbatos and to add to my HG Jesta and HG Jegan Ecoas Type
helo Mr Jabman , i pretty love your gunpla review , but i have a question , did you know what happening with Mr rrobert184 ? sorry for the OOT in your review Mr ZakuA , but i pretty want to know what happening with Mr rrobert184 , why he's stop make a gunpla review , thanks , sorry for my bad english
I'm just getting into Gunpla, I've built an MG Banshee Full Armor as well as the 1/144 HG of it too, an RG Red Frame Astray (first kit I ever built), and I'm just now doing some hand painting and experimenting on an HG 1/144 Heavy Arms Custom. I'm looking next at doing a kit where seam line removal is done, along with painting with spray cans (not ready to take the plunge for an airbrush just yet) so my question is this - what kit would you recommend for this? I don't want anything too expensive as I might mess it up a good deal before finishing and I have paints to buy too, but I've just watched some of your videos on seam removal with putty and such and want to give it a go. Thanks in advance.
the only kits on this list i got was the HG RX-78-2 Revive and the RG OO Raiser. both are really cool. i don't know about you but i'm kinda interested to see what the worst kits were this year, if any.
Nice list bro, can't wait for what's coming this year hopefully we get a MG transient this year. Only try suit I really like other than the try burning
ZakuAurelius I was saying that Bandai should make a 2.0 with the right colors. Because I don't really want to have to paint it just to get the accurate color scheme
would you be able to do a review of the extra hands. example the hands that have 3 different molds , closed fist, trigger finger, and open hand. like could u help with that, i never know which hand to use for my gundams, n i don't want to buy the wrong hands. example i wants detailed hands for my gundam age normal 1, and idk which ones would work for him.
Ya i get that, sorry if my question wasn't specific. The question was regarding customized Gunpla. Do you sell them to your friends or actually sell them like on ebay.
Marco Serrano well neither line is "better" cause that's just a matter of opinion. The main difference is size, MG kits are larger. There are also a lot more options in the MG line as it's older and saw almost monthly new releases for years in the past. Use dalong.net for reference images and just find something that looks good to you!
ayaxro While i do ultimately prefer HGs, RGs are better overall than HGs. The only thing the really similar is really the scale. I may not care for realism in my robot toys but RGs are the buy regardless.
Honestly, I think that the HG Barbatos has a much better design than the 1/100, mostly in the design of the thigh, the narrower waist, and the lowered front skirts. It's weird how many little differences there are between the two scales, stickers aside
Just some advice, you can take it or not, maybe find ways to shorten your video, or at least cut down the unnecessary tangents in your video. If 30 minutes is really how long you need to make a top 5 video, then you do you. I've just seen top 5 lists with a more straightforward script and easier duration to watch. I just feel like it'd be tedious to watch such a long video that doesn't have a very structured format. Great list, nonetheless, love your channel
Thanks for the feedback! Always appreciated so I will consider that of course. This is however more of a top 10, top 5 plus 5 runners-up, so average 3 minutes talking about each kit and when you figure a couple minutes for intro/outro it becomes less than that. Sure, there is probably a lot I could have cut out if I went by a script. But I like just keeping it casual and I think a lot of people like that as well, makes me more personable I think. Not like some salesman giving a pitch, but just a normal guy talking about kits. Know what I mean? You make a good point and it's my most common complaint so I am always trying to work on that!
I am curious...is there a reason you didn't wish to do a list like this? Since in the intro you seemed to imply the only reason you made it was because everyone (and sponsor) asked you to? As a casual builder of these kits, I can say we really like lists from people who are more seriously into the hobby/have lots of experience/can compare a ton of kits, so that we can see which ones to focus on and which to avoid. So thank you for making it anyway even if you didn't want to ^_^
+Isteak80 I'm just extremely busy! And something like this was a pretty low priority for me when I have so many kits to review and other videos to make. But this went pretty well, I'm glad you guys like it!
+ZeroStriker426 It's a really nice kit, but it's exactly what I would expect. There wasn't anything about the kit that really surprised me or "wowed' me, ya know?
Oh I see. I get you. It needs to exceed your expectations or have something that's unheard of, like the HG Barbatos. A High Grade that has an inner frame.
+LatencyProblem The HG just wasn't that nice. The MG was much nicer, but still pretty basic. Not much detail, lots of weapon options but those were super basic as well. It just didn't impress as much as these others.
The only criticism I have for this video and some of your others is that you try to be really objective all the time. I'd rather hear your opinion on what you think are the best kits. I feel like it's easier to make something you feel is great than what is "objectively best." Don't worry about your personal bias. I'm watching your channel so I can see you personal bias!
+KingGiddra Thanks for that, man! You know I agree! Actually, for this video I think being objective was the right say, cause the title was "best" kits, so I had to try to not involve my bias. But if I were doing a video on "my favorite kits of 2015," then yeah I would have done it differently (although not much, to be honest). That being said, it does bother me sometimes how objective I have to be, and how I have to be so careful of everything I say just because people will always call you out for any and every little thing. Sadly, we live in an age where being cynical makes people feel cool, telling someone they're wrong makes people feel right, and pointing out others mistakes makes people feel smart. Also, as a reviewer, being objective is kind of the more "professional" way to go about it. I do like to throw in bits of my opinion here and there though. I'll try to mix it up more in the future!
Whether right or wrong they still will judge you, but do not feel bothered when you are just being yourself. Greetings from Parramatta we're got your back mate ;
+ZakuAurelius Personally speaking I don't think is much to gain from a purely objective review in the first place. People watch your video for your opinion to hear what you have to say. I don't think it is wrong to be biased.
Don't really care much about articulation to me because I don't pose my kit often.....And my kits just standing on my shelf and looks cool. I'm more curious about the looks and proportion, for example the MG RX-7802 TO, that proportion sucks but the kit is great.....I'm still not gonna buy it, like I said I don't care for the articulation.
Totally agree with articulation being a big selling point for ranking model kits. The only downside is when there is TOO much articulation making it impossible to line things up for a simple symmetrical standing pose. Good list. I would've placed the Barbatos maybe one place higher hehe :)
Really like the clean-cut design of the Iron Blooded Orphans line. Barbatos is top one for me too, from those.
I ordered the HG Barbatos and HG RX 78 2 last week! Makes me happy to know they are both on your list.
How is that Barbie holding up?
@@UNOwen-hx7ol Looks great! It's on my display cabinet next to 4 other Barbatos models.
holy shit. i totally got the 00 raiser and it was less than a year ago i got into gunpla. i built so many gunpla last year (like over 20 or so) that since the rg 00 was one of the first i ever built, i totally forgot it was made that recently. but the 00 raiser rg was deffinately my favorite rg. i built like 5 real grades. that one is deffinately the best.

My Top 6 of 2015:
6. MG Double X
5. RG 00 Raiser
4. RG Astray Redframe
3. Hyaku Shiki 2.0
2. MG V2
1. HG Graze (the grunt one)
I just realized that there were only 2 RG releases in 2015 and the Wing Zero Custom was released in 2014. Damn time goes fast.
To another great year of gunpla! *raises glass*
I think what makes best kits is price, nubs, articulation and looks
Im so glad i have 4 of those kits, i could not find the 00 raiser RG, but i bought 2 RX7802 MG the origin, and all that because of your reviews, im from Peru, and its very difficult to find a kit that is worth it, but again, thank you for all of this, keep it up man, you ar helping a lot of us who are really into this hobby. Good choice for the number 1. I hope it becomes the benchmark for the incoming master grades
I only have the revive gundam but I'm happy to see 2 RX-78-2 kits on your list!
Great list...the RX-78 is like the Porsche 911 of Gundams, same basic look, but improves over and over...thanks for sharing...
completely agree with #1, i can´t wait to finish what i have on the workbench to start building this kit !
it's been awhile since the last time i visited your channel and now it grows till this big
and also that's a excellent gunpla list!
Hope you do a 2016 one! I'm just. Curious to see what you pick.
Haha, that Murasame Liger! I'm more of a Zoider than a Gunpla guy.
Sick Converge tapestry. Super new to gunpla and your channel is really tight
Jay Cummings thanks!
Soon I am going to be buying the HG Barbatos plus two optional weapon kits from IBO, to add both to the Barbatos and to add to my HG Jesta and HG Jegan Ecoas Type
good choice there for number one good sir
+jabman025 Right back at you!
helo Mr Jabman , i pretty love your gunpla review , but i have a question , did you know what happening with Mr rrobert184 ? sorry for the OOT in your review Mr ZakuA , but i pretty want to know what happening with Mr rrobert184 , why he's stop make a gunpla review , thanks , sorry for my bad english
+aditya rizky I don't know for sure, but I think rrobbert just retire because he wanted to/needed to spend more time for work and/or family?
+ZakuAurelius ohh i see , thanks for the answer mr zaku
I'm just getting into Gunpla, I've built an MG Banshee Full Armor as well as the 1/144 HG of it too, an RG Red Frame Astray (first kit I ever built), and I'm just now doing some hand painting and experimenting on an HG 1/144 Heavy Arms Custom. I think i really like the rg raiser, the normal ver., and im so excited for the qan[t]
Looking at your backround made me want a MG Kämpfer 2.0
+sushiyoda G Get one!
ZakuAurelius I was saying that Bandai should make a 2.0 with the right colors. Because I don't really want to have to paint it just to get the accurate color scheme
what is the name of the dark blue model on your desk in the bottom left of the video? I remember having one just like that but I forgot the name.
Ethan Li MG Kampfer
cool, now how about the best non gunpla of 2015?
Liked your choices, solid reasoning. I think I liked the runner ups a bit better though.
great kits.. looking forward for your upcoming reviews and videos :)
I've got the RX-78-02 sitting on my shelf with all the kits waiting to be built!
Why no Iron Blood kits at all on the list or runners up?
+John Middleton The HG Barbatos was #4...
+ZakuAurelius So it was.
I'm mental sometimes.
would you be able to do a review of the extra hands. example the hands that have 3 different molds , closed fist, trigger finger, and open hand. like could u help with that, i never know which hand to use for my gundams, n i don't want to buy the wrong hands. example i wants detailed hands for my gundam age normal 1, and idk which ones would work for him.
hope you make this kind of video for 2016
I will! Preparing now~~
When you had the RX78 revive in the top 5, I was worried that the Origin RX78 wouldn't be in the list lol
top 10 best mg kits ever so far...
go
I ordered the kampfer, Qubeley revive, and the zaku 1 sniper type. Are they good kits?
the HG barbatos always sold out at my place
Nice list. It makes me want to build kit number 4 :) Which upcoming model kits in 2016 that excites you the most so far?
So far~ the 1/100 Gusion!
I support your top list absolutely
By the way I'm glad that you did mix list not only mg or hg
Where is the best and cheapest place to buy gundams?
hello zak! when are you going to release your top kits for 2016?
Thorny Cayco after 2016 has ended!
You say you either give or sell most of your gunpla's, is there a market for used gunpla ?
Locoss I'm talking about kits I paint and complete. Not just snapped together kits
Ya i get that, sorry if my question wasn't specific.
The question was regarding customized Gunpla.
Do you sell them to your friends or actually sell them like on ebay.
hi zak, i have a question, whats better, MG or RG? Im new in this, so I want to know. thanks.
Marco Serrano well neither line is "better" cause that's just a matter of opinion. The main difference is size, MG kits are larger. There are also a lot more options in the MG line as it's older and saw almost monthly new releases for years in the past. Use dalong.net for reference images and just find something that looks good to you!
RG with too many details? Blasphemy!
IKR!!! XD
That's why we called it RG XD
+Hazumi 873 I personally don't care for all the realism.
+FourteenthAngel Then you can buy the HG? No?
ayaxro While i do ultimately prefer HGs, RGs are better overall than HGs. The only thing the really similar is really the scale. I may not care for realism in my robot toys but RGs are the buy regardless.
Just kidding good work zak
Do you have any suggestions as to where the best place to buy Gunpla in the U.S. is?
+Courtney Collins I'm not sure but most people use Amazon, HLJ, Gundam Planet, Hobbysearch, USA Gundam Store, eBay, etc....
Honestly, I think that the HG Barbatos has a much better design than the 1/100, mostly in the design of the thigh, the narrower waist, and the lowered front skirts. It's weird how many little differences there are between the two scales, stickers aside
Is that the hg or mg gouf on the desk
The Transient Gundam also reminds me of Tekkaman Blade
Would you recommend the RX-78 Origin over 3.0?
+Jesot X Yes, I would! But that's just personal taste. Both are great kits, and differ in many ways.
Just some advice, you can take it or not, maybe find ways to shorten your video, or at least cut down the unnecessary tangents in your video. ZakuAurelius keep up the good work though, i come to your channel for a lot of my gunpla advice.
any perfect grades set for this year? I'd love a perfect grade legend or perfect grade v gundam nu version
I think the origin series is about char and how he became the red comet
I am curious...is there a reason you didn't wish to do a list like this? Since in the intro you seemed to imply the only reason you made it was because everyone (and sponsor) asked you to? agree with you zak.
no RG Astray Red Frame? That's a surprise.
+ZeroStriker426 It's a really nice kit, but it's exactly what I would expect. There wasn't anything about the kit that really surprised me or "wowed' me, ya know?

Do more Gunpla shopping and reviews
Good list. IMO Amazing Red Warrior >>> RX-78-02 though.
Subbed because Jane Doe. Also, great content!
+ZeroContingency Thanks!
what's up with the kampfer?
how much is the shipping to US?
Nice video !! thanks you
I am sad because no Red Warrior :( even in honorable mention
+LatencyProblem The HG just wasn't that nice. The MG was much nicer, but still pretty basic. Not much detail, lots of weapon options but those were super basic as well. It just didn't impress as much as these others.
Raiser.
All the way.
You see the clear astray red frame is a bootleg ban dai did not made that
For all ignorant people who has never seen gundam oo before but had enough time to watch dragon ball z trans-am is basically kaioken
Looks like most of the review community is picking the same best for 2015 ^^
I want a Fix Figuration F-91 soooo bad it doesn't have a good kit.
Awesome Converge "Jane Doe" flag in the back ;)... greetings from germany :)

Too much detail? XD I'm paying more for an RG. It better have more detail lol.
I thought RG exias upper thigh had stupid ammount detail
nice converge flag in the back bro
Imagine a pg barbatos
Cuz of all the exposed innerframe y'know?
Who knows? Since Bandai is milking money from barbatos :/
lol
Jane Doe!
No More.
I'm luck I got hg barbatos
but payday is still so far away :(
not seen a real grade before they look so tiny I'd be afraid to break it I'll stick with my pg kits lol
gundam fan dude.... then just buy metal damishi gundams
Too much detail??? That's a thing?
Now a top 5 worst kits lol
Lol~ maybe next year!
I don't know yen American dollars please
You can translate currency in Google, among many other ways. But the easy conversion is roughly 100yen=$1

The V2 is trash utter garbage don't even try to tell us it was nice as well
Almost 30 minutes for a simple top 5?, dude wtf
+necrokillerj Top 5 plus 5 runners up. So 10 kits, less than three minutes per kit. Probably a little long, but I talk a lot. SORRY
+ZakuAurelius np bro, I like your videos
