Nice one, Does Surya Namaskara and Surya Upasana and Surya Bhedi Pranayama is associated with sun practices? I read somewhere that strict dietary discipline and routine life and celibacy is followed to awaken the Pingala Nadi Isn't it?

Yes Surya Namaskar is associated with sun practice, it is used as the foundation for sun practice.
Diet control is important in any kind of practice, as far as celibacy is concerned, I may have to speak on that as people have misunderstanding about it.

@@VishwaYoga I read somewhere that strict vegetarian diet with very little spices and avoidance of protein rich diet(mostly non-veg) is necessary for awakening of Pingala nadi, and celibacy is needed to be maintained during Pranayama practices otherwise there would be loss of Kumbhaka i.e breath retention, Purification of nadi would become very difficult, It is said in yogic book that person will have to leave a austerious life for few years inorder to awaken Pingala nadi to make the Sun shine

What is relation between Surya Upasana and Shiva Upasana? And how Saurya Tantra is different from Shaiva Tantra? It is said according to astrology that Top class Politicians, Businesses man, Scholar and Sports person and Scientists have exalted Sun in birth chart and usually it is seen that people with exalted Sun are very confident and they are very competitive people and they do lot of hard work every day more than 12-14 hours of works. And i have also observed that most of the people who are powerful are not lusty, the sexual appetite is very low in them for example Narendra Modi, Ratan Tata, A.P. J Abdul Kalam, Yogi Adityanath, Mayawati, Mamta Banerjee donot need physical partner, They are powerful and are living their life according to their own Philosophy...And i have also observed that most of the talented Scholar, Researchers, Professor, Scientist and genius artist and musician are atheist by nature they donot believe in existence of God, they donot follow any particular philosophy, they always tries to remain away from religious ideology and spirituality, They live their life according to their own wish but they are highly focused and dedicated and committed towards their work, Are they driven by "Sun".

Shiva is the Chetana, shiva is in the earth, the moon, the sun and the fire. And wherever Shiva is, Shakti is.
No matter who the person is, if you cultivate the knowledge of fire within, light will lit up, and then it’s up to that person how he or she uses the light, to light up more candles in constructive way or use it as power or fire for destruction.

are there any resources that discuss the specific details of tapasya? rather than just talking around the subject using metaphors like "heat" and "austerity"?

Tapasya word itself is deep, depending on the practice it’s definition or meaning can vary, in simple word. So, what is your scope . If a yoga practice, then just having a dedicated practice on regular basis with reverence is a tapasya

@@VishwaYoga yes, i'm not talking about simple bhakti, or standing on one leg for a month. is there an overlap between the tantras and tapasya? thanks for your reply.

@@rickdeckard1075 Tantra and Tapasya ?Tantra is a system or body of knowledge, which has many practices, and if you are doing a tantric practice with discipline and dedication, that will be called a Tantric Tapasya.
The level and intensity of Tapasya can vary based on your practice. And pls keep in mind, this word is also used in a general sense, like being a good father and mother, sacrificing for family is also considered a Tapasaya. So it depends on how and where you use this word.
But I am guessing you are most likely only referring to this word related to a rigorous spiritual or religious practice, as it is how the dictionary defines it or is understood. If that is the case, then the details of each Tapasya will vary.
