We have literally just ordered a 2023 model of this van in large part because of your video. Thank you so much, its so difficult to get a good look at vans you're interested in these days.
Congratulations on your order and I am sure you will love it. I know, these days you have to buy blind as there are no demo models due to the Motorhome shortage. Enjoy your Compact when it arrives 😊 Karina
Of all the motorhome reviews out there your evaluation is the most comprehensive, balanced, informative and unbiased, even though on this occasion your analysis is based on your very own motorhome! Great job Karina.
Love your reviews. I'm in the market for a motorhome, and I've been blown away by the beguiling amount of options. I've been looking at burstner and cathargo models, but can't justify the hefty price tags. You really sell Adria, and this compact looks just like the ticket. Thanks so much for taking the time to review.
Thank you Simon..I hope you find the right Motorhome for you, there is so much choice out there. The Show in February at the NEC is a good place to go and look too. Take care, Karina 😊
Excellent and helpful round up. Interesting mobile home which I will certainly have a closer look at. These compact motorhome and indeed the van conversions make a lot of sense for 2 people on our roads.
Thnx for your very explaining video! Just what we needed to finish our decision making process...We just bought our Adria Compact DL...scheduled for delivery in november 2022...the hard waiting just began
@@HereWeTow We hear you say that you have your e-bikes in the garage wen traveling. This is what we are looking for too, do you have a picture of how you have organised the garage with the bikes in it? Much appreciated:)
No I haven’t got a photo but i used bungee cords to secure them and removed the front wheel on ours. They then went side by side and i used an old pillow in between them so the paint wasn’t damaged. Our table and chairs go at the other side along with our Motorhome box with all our bits in. If you have a large garage you wont have issues getting bikes in..just dont overload the rear axle. 😊👍
@@HereWeTow Thnx for your understanding my asking and fast answering! Removing the front wheels is exactly what i was thinking because of the hight of the steer not fitting the garage door on the compact. It's great hearing this is not uncommon:) and has been dan before. And keeping them well secured is obiosly very importand. The pillow idea is great. Also good to know there will be enough space left in the garage. Waiting is hard and the only advantage is the time we have to prepare:)
Great video which we have been eagerly awaiting. We bought the same motorhome which we collected at the end of June. Absolutely loving it. Enjoy both of you
Hi Paul B, Ian and Liz Fox (alias flyingfox) here from SYDNEY Australia 🇦🇺. May I ask how long was your wait time? I’m trying to order a left hand drive Compact DL from ADRIA but no response. I’m wondering if they don’t deal direct or are closed down due to Covid? Very uncertain times!
I've been waiting for your vlog on the new motorhome and, I enjoyed it very much indeed. It was really well presented and covered most aspects. You made a great choice in going for the Adria. Thanks for sharing.
Was looking forward to this one (yay!) and it is a well balanced, realistic review. I really appreciate hearing about the items that are an issue as much as the things that are fantastic, it helps us to know what to keep in mind while we are looking for our first motorhome. There were things here that I’ve never even considered! Thanks for your excellent work 👍
Hello Jules, just like to say a big thank you for this video and others. But this one in particular, we had a Adria Twin 640 DL but after my illness wanted something a little larger. We had a look at our Adria dealer in SW France and purchased the Adria Compact Axess DL. We had our first trip away last weekend to the Atlantic Coast and absolutely loved it, its a great van. Ticks all the boxes and more. Many thanks again for your informative videos. Just to add we also purchased the clothes bags from Amazon they are a game changer!! Next trip Spain in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to your experience in the new larger Adria Matrix but sounds too large for us living in the Pyrénées
Oh that is fantastic.. I am glad you have found something that works better for you. We loved our Compact, hopefully this Matrix will work well for us too..a bit more planning for parking. Enjoy your travels 😊
A short internal aluminum rack with shelves spaced properly for your items would solve your access problem splendidly. An upper shelf for your ladder would hold it off of the other items and you could secure it to the frame with an elastic bungee.
The Compact DL is absolutely excellent..yes there are compromises like all Motorhomes, but its an excellent touring vehicle. 😊 Have a lovely weekend, Karina
Thank You James, that is a tough decision to be fair. If I was getting a Coral I would up plate for the extra payload probably. The Coral will give you more internal space. All the best with your choice, Karina 😊
Excellent review of your lovely new van 🥰 very well presented and edited too, it’s like watching a Motorhome programme on tv with professional journalism 😁 Also love how you went through and the good bits and things that you don’t like as much, very well balanced 🥰 Your new van is gorgeous and really well finished, enjoy your travels 😁
An absolute brilliant vlog loved seeing how the front bed went up haven't been able to see that anywhere else well done 👍 We missed out on a compact DL a few weeks ago as we were still trying to sell our autosleeper fairford but now with that sold new compact on order and yes 70k is the price, we have ordered the 160 bhp but manual thinking changing to automatic if we can afford it 😁
Hi there, Love your motor home reviews very professional and insightful as I’m considering purchasing one for my retirement next year . Planning round Scotland trip with wife and daughter/ 2 grandkids so looking at the Adria Coral plus 6 berth and Swift KonTiki 6 Berth units …. Although torn about just getting something smaller like a campervan for just the wife and I … . Although like you I like the rear bed room option with toilet and shower a lot . Anyway enjoying your travel Vlogs and reviews Best of luck on your travels and keep up the reviews Best regards Frank ( 65)
Thank you Frank and good luck with your Motorhome hunt..I hope you find the right one for you and the family. It might be worth hiring a 6 berth and seeing how you find it for size. Its better to find out if it works for you before you spend your money. All the best..Karina 😊
Brilliant in depth review. Love the new motorhome. Not sure I would fit in that shower though 😂. Appreciate all the content you give us. Keep up the good work. Happy and Safe travels
Interesting to find your channel after our visit to the nec show yesterday (Feb 2024). Went along to the show thinking a campervan would be best for us but after spending all day at the show we quickly changed our mind - the motor homes were so much more liveable for our usage - 2-3 months in Europe. This specific van - the Adria compact DL was actually the one that ticked all the boxes for us. Your point about the greenhouse effect with the large sunroof was the only question mark for us. Are there not blinds you can get to block the sun roof?
Thanks for watching, we loved our Compact. Yes there are blinds but even then you do need to be aware of the heat. Same with a Van conversion though, it is a metal box that gets very warm. We had air on fitted to ours and it worked really well. If you are heading to Europe I recommend the aircon. Hopefully the show gave you some ideas..
That was an excellent review 👏 👌 👍 and Jules of course good camera work . 👍 I totally get what your saying about some of the design features because looking around I get frustrated with some of the vans we really like and then finding features we don't like !! Sometimes it's hard to compromise but that's what we will have to do. ☹ Your Motorhome is stunning and a really good choice. We would love to buy one like yours but I have to buy something that I can fit on my drive ☹. We'll get there one day 🤩🙏
Thank you for watching..funnily enough Jules did try sleeping the other way round so that’s not a bad suggestion. He has got use to the over cupboard now and stopped throwing himself about in the night. 😊 Have a nice weekend, Karina
Hi Karina / Jules, great review and we find all of your videos helpful and informative. Here’s a question for you, if you had the choice of your Compact, a Coral 670 DC or a Sonic 700 DC which would you go for and why. We’re having many head over heart debates at the moment as to whether the extra size (and cost) would offset the practicalities of a smaller size. Asking as you’ve got one, had one, might like one😀 Thanks and keep up the excellent work, if only all reviews were so balanced and well presented. Andy
Thanks for the difficult question Andrew 😂 🤔🤔 The Compact is the best all rounder for getting about, being agile and having the garage, payload and compressor fridge. I loved the Coral and would probably go SC over DC to be honest. The extra width is noticeable and the payload isn’t ideal for me. The new Sonic is amazing, I am disappointed that there is no SC model as that would be my choice. I have got a more in depth look at the DC coming in the next few weeks. The Sonic offers a great payload and internal space but will be less agile than the Compact, obviously. If I had a Sonic I would actually consider a scooter for the garage to be honest and this would give you more freedom when on site. So, which would I pick, Sonic if I had the cash but otherwise Compact. 😊👍 Karina
Great Review again,we are looking at a Adria first timers so diving in at the deep end,do any of these models come with self levelling at all? Thanks Keith
Thanks Keith, no they don’t, a levelling system starts at around £4k as far as I know..the E&P system is one of the best and about £5k. Jules and I will be at Cara Motorhomes on the 16-17th October for their Adria open weekend. If you are near Stoke call in as we will be there to chat to people and offer advice around caravans and motorhomes. 😊 Karina
It would be interesting to see how versatile your motorhome is ? Could you do a trip to Applecross in the Highlands in it using the Bealach na bar pass. Or is it just a " camp site vehicle" only able to access sites on wide roads and then with limited ability to tour when the roads get single track, narrow and twisty?
Thanks Steve, you can get it down any road you can drive a Fiat Ducato van, apart from it being higher than a standard van. I would happily drive this Motorhome anywhere but I am experienced at driving larger vehicles. I drove armoured police vans to emergency incidents for 17 years so I consider myself a pretty competent driver. Personally I haven’t got any plans to tour Scotland but am happy to go off to remote locations in it. Thank you for watching 😊 Karina
I would suggest sleeping the other way round if that's possible and would suggest putting a plastic slide valve or tap on the end of the waste pipe and leave red handle valve in the garage in the open position
@@HereWeTow Thanks Karina, like you guys we've started with an Adria Caravan as the kids were younger then (and a Ssangyong :-0 ) and have had it since 2014, but now the kids are a bit older, we are thinking of a MH. Also found the MH in France is a lot more accommodating with Aires and MH only sites etc. My wife thinks she wants to tow a car but I'm against this due to more weight. She is disabled so cycling isn't really an option. How have you got on without a car when you are on tour, do you miss it or do you just pack up and drive the MH around? I guess if you can keep all your belongings in their travel storage space whilst living this makes packing up easier? Thanks and enjoy the show, we saw the Compact on the Adria stand on Tuesday and out of all the MH we saw, thought it was the best layout for us. I only have a 3.5t licence so trying to avoid doing the C1 and the issues it brings at 70 with medicals etc. Also wondered, sorry lots of question: How have you got on with the 2 way fridge, we're thinking we may end up going off grid and current van has three way with gas, have you only got the one battery and how do you get on when off grid? Cheers
We haven’t found we needed a car as the DL is quite manageable but there has been the odd time we could have done with one to pop for a takeaway but I guess that has saved our waistlines 😂 We have managed well with the space and it has a good payload. The compressor fridge is excellent..no issues for us and we saved gas. We have the solar panel fitted which helps. All the best Karina 😊
Really enjoyed your vlog. Please explain how you would use the fridge, air conditioning and other electrical appliances if you were on a campsite in France, with only 6 amps electricity available. Many thanks.
Thanks, I don’t have any plans to stay on a campsite in France with 6 amps. If you were then you would have to manage your electric appliances. I have had the air con, fridge and other bits on on a 10 amp site here in the UK. As far as I understand it the fridge runs off the 12v supply as opposed to 230v. If I am ever on 6 amps I am sure I will find out how it all works..or not as the case may be. 😊 Karina
Thanks Keith, I would say there is a hum when it kicks in, once it reaches temperature it clicks off again. It makes more noise than a standard adsorption fridge freezer in comparison to what we have had before.😊 Karina
Hi there. Bit suprised so many people want to spend so much money on a van with a wash bowl thats not very good for washing your face in, so little wardrobe space you have to bag your clothes up and beds so high up you bang your head when you sit up. Also i know its a compact van but where do you get dressed?. 70k is a lot of money there must be better value about and if not why not?. Think the industry is having a field day unable to keep up with demand while people pay well over the odds for products like this. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it glad you both like it but it would drive me mad.
So far I have had a lot of enjoyment from my Compact, the things I mention may not be an issue for others. I choose to bag my clothes, there are rails under there to hand stuff. As always it is each to their own and different things appeal to different people. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 😊 Karina
These types of van make a lot of sense for two people offering everything that you would need and being so wieldy to drive. I have slightly smaller van conversion which still has everything in it and strangely seems to have more storage space above the beds than this Adria. The other great advantage of the van conversions is the large aperture offered by the sliding door which allows wonderful views out. Some of these vans are surprisingly expensive probably because they are so sought after although the lack of new stock has pushed prices of all motor homes up considerably this year.
Thanks for lovely video. Is that not a sun screen for the sunroof hiding behind that "compact " logo? That would reduce that 44° heat inside the motorhome. God bless!!
Thank you for the review…..a great van! Unfortunately you did not show how to convert the seats to make the 2 travel seats. Any chance you can do that at some stage? Thanks
Thank you for your thorough review its so helpful to have one from a new owner and especially so at the moment when getting to look inside one is so difficult! We are looking to get our first motorhome and just a bit scared to commit to picking one, when viewing is so hard! Our debate has been the narrower width over extra space. I think the narrower width will be a godsend but husband thinks we will miss the extra space inside as we want to go away for longer trips. We are therefore torn between the exact model you have, over the Burstner 744 with the end Lounge and drop down beds. The garage is not as big though in Burstner and this is another debate we have! We will also be travelling with large dogs so it is really interesting that you are too. On that note might be a really stupid newbie question but how does yours travel can they be clipped in and secure and still lie on the floor/stand up? I was trying to see if you had any shots of him on your other vlogs in transit!
Thats a tough one when you cannot see the model you want due to limited availability around the country. There is slightly less internal space but I have found the DL noticeably easier to drive, it is much more agile than the Coral we had. The garage space is important to us. You can put your dogs on a harness and clip this in to the passenger seatbelt.. there are bits on Amazon that will give you an idea. Use a non slip mat on the floor for them to lay on, I just use a cheap bath mat from Amazon again. I hope you find the right Motorhome for you. Jules and I will be at the Cara Motorhomes open weekend on the 16-17th October in Stoke if you want any advice. 😊🐾 Karina
@@HereWeTow Hi Karina thank you for so much for your reply. We might just do that it is a long 4 hour drive up North but its good to hear how good you have found them and would be lovely to look round properly and have a chat! Ours is very scared of the car since we were involved in a car accident in April but I am hoping he will feel happier in the motorhome. Our older boy would struggle so not quite worked that one out yet..but need to find one to buy first anyway!
It is a big decision to make but hopefully we can give you some advice. There will be several models at the weekend so you can have a look and they like dogs so might let you see how yours go on getting in 😊🐾
Great review, lovely van, very clever features although the waste tank valve is a bit too clever and I don’t like it. As for Jules bashing his head, why not sleep the other way round? Feet under the cupboard? Keep up the great work.
Looks great . I really like the flooring. Our Matrix uses the Aux button on the control panel for our electric underfloor heating. I agree that the greywater solution is rubbish. We've got the version you've had before. Much easier to access. Did you lose a roof light to put the air conditioning in? We will likely get the type you can fit in the garage, as our middle roof light interior finishing is gorgeous, so we don't want to lose it. Regarding the beds, Sanna my wife does the same thing turning over in the night. While the Matrix was missing in action, we got very close to buying an integrated Rapido... and it had a huge garage ... but similar problem with headroom. I couldn't even sit upright in the bed! It was in the end, a deal breaker. The Matrix garage is a little lower, so there is much better headroom under the cabinets even though we have the identical beds. My 9 year old wants to do a video review 'like on UA-cam' , so you may see that some time soon 😁 I'm hoping these fixes are very minor, considering the short time you've had it, but great that your dealer is sorting it so quickly 👍🏼 Great review Karina (and Jules for the camera work of course!).
Thank you Jared and I am really pleased your Matrix arrived. As far as I know Truma cut through the roof for the air conditioning. It is where Adria recommend the installation so no, we didn’t lose a sky light as far as I know. The head banging is just one of those things and hopefully it will happen less often. I will looking forward to your Matrix review 😊👍 Have a lovely week, Karina and Jules
We are looking at the Adria motorhome as well as burster motorhomes, but we have also looked at the caravan that you used to have. Why did you move away from caravans to motorhomes? Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you for watching, we loved our caravan but we find a motorhome much easier and it suits the way we tour now. If you just want a few days in one place before heading on it works great. It also means Karina can get away by herself, which was happening quite a bit when she was going filming. You do lose the ability to jump in the car on site and go off but we now use our ebikes or choose sites where we can walk in to the places we visit. Karina also research’s motorhome parking where we go. We will be sticking with the Motorhome for now. If you are not sure you can always hire one to see how you get on. Both Adria and Burstner are lovely motorhomes. TMD Motorhomes do have a good choice if you wanted to go see a few different layouts at one place. Happy motorhome shopping 😊👍
Great looking motorhome. The compressor fridge and freezer really are a game changer. I'm not too sure like yourself about the waste dump seems a bit of a faff.
We have a Bürstner with the 140Bhp and the 9 speed ZF auto box like you. It's a great transmission box, with seamless changes up and down. Well worth the extra cost and additional weight. I think ZF make the best auto boxes - also used in BMWs!
@@HereWeTow Thanks Karina - ours is a Lyseo 690G, which is new to us as well and with a similar layout to yours so fascinating to compare. A few additional thoughts/questions please: * I like your kitchen workspace: slightly more room than ours, so we tend to prep on the table. * Our Dometic rear view camera angle may be adjusted by removing the side caps and adjusting with an Allan key - maybe yours too? I only found this out from a tech... * I am also sold on the combi loo/shower area, provided that they are well designed with a decent water flow, as in yours and ours. * Fixed twin "German" style beds are fantastic! So nice not to have to wrestle with bed cushions each morning and evening. The area you lose to the beds is more than made up for by the huge garage. After several trips I think the key is to exploit the garage space fully, including for extra clothes and laundry bags. Then it all makes sense... * Do you run the types at the 5.5 bar as is plated on our Ducato chassis please? This is recommended for ours "fully laden" but the ride is harsh at these tyre pressures with Michelin Camper tyres! I seem to remember Bob Earnshaw recommending 65 front and 75 rear...
😊 Yes we use the table a bit too and Im really pleased with the shower, I use all the time. With the camera I am not convinced its not just the Fiat screen. The camos camera is one we have used on other Motorhomes and not had an issue before 🤷🏼♀️ We have our tyres at 75 the ride seems okay. The garage is fantastic and so useful, especially for our bikes. Enjoy your travels and have a lovely summer 😊
Hi Picking our new compact DL up on the 14th of Dec after a 16 month wait so excited to start our travels again, just watched your video again maybe for the 40th time😂, just wondering what your three faults were on van is it something to worry about, writing out my check list 😊. How are you two getting on really miss watching you, maybe you should of done a renovation video on the house hee hee my we are nosey 🤭 Fae Eddie and Maggie (Scotland)
Oh sorry I have just seen your comment…I hope you are enjoying your DL. The issue was a piece of trim over the sink came loose and a lock on the garage door went. The third was a discoloured panel inside which was found during handover. Happy travels..
Sorry about my Compact DL question on your earlier vlog. I hadn’t watched enough of your content. I absolutely love all your choices for your new DL. International travel conditions permitting my wife and I will be touring Europe for at least 12 months arriving in April/May 2022. We plan to buy a left hand drive motor home and organise ownership and registration in France. My efforts to contact ADRIA and place an order has not raised a response as yet. Perhaps I will be introduced to one of their preferred dealers in France? I’m concerned that your MH was so delayed. I thought a lead time of 7 months would be sufficient??? Maybe not??? Failing to buy a new motorhome I will have to investigate secondhand availability?
Thank you for watching…lead times are getting longer due to a shortage of Fiat Ducatos to build on. Adria Mobil control the EU dealerships. I am not sure how you would go about registering and insuring a Motorhome in Europe as its not a market I am familiar with. There will probably be more pre owned product available as we head in to next year. Enjoy planning your trip 😊 Karina
Very professional talk, Well done :-). On the fridge, 4 amps is normally used as a measurement per hour. so the fridge will use 96 amps per day. Not sure what battery types or amp rating you guys have in your van? and like you say having the solar is a must, it would be interesting how well that works for us guys in France as we spend most of our time off grid. How about MPG? and I'm informed that road tax is high for the first 5 years in the UK? around £500 per year for this model?
Thanks for watching, the 110w solar can keep us off grid indefinitely and thats running the fridge too. MPG we are getting 30 on average with the 160bhp engine and auto box. Tax isn’t expensive and they didn’t put motorhomes in the category like cars so I believe it is currently £215 or £250 a year, I would have to go on the DVLA website to check. 😊 I hope you are enjoying your off griding 😊 Karina
Hi, great review folks. It’s good to hear you’re very pleased with the DL. It reassures me in my choice. I’ve heard a few negative reviews regarding the rear view camera. Have you considered upgrading to a better camera? You mentioned the bespoke bedding could you let us know which company you intend to use as we need the same. We are looking forward to your in-depth review on the WiFi and the weigh bridge if you film it. Do you find it easy to find somewhere to fill the safefill gas bottles? Finally the faults you have come across should be interesting. The width of the van was a real selling point for me. 👍🏻 In the mean time enjoy your new prized possession and keep up the good work. 😉 Sorry for all the questions I’m new to this game. Shaun.
Hi Shaun, I think I answered some of these on your other post 😊 With regards the Safefill, we have had it 3 years and not had an issue filling it. We would recommend it due to the shortage of calor. We have the 10kg one and it fits nicely 😊
Looking at your vid, in your windscreen I can see the reflection of the silver air vents, I found these very distracting and changed them for after market carbon look covers, it made a big difference.
This is a fantastic review of a really nice motorhome. I can’t find your vlog on the faults that you said, can somebody please give me a steer? Off to the NEC next weekend and hoping that Adria will have one that we can look at and into.
Thanks for watching David. We had some discolouration on a wall panel and a piece of trim in the kitchen area dropped down. This was fixed. We also had a problem with the garage door catches, this seems to have been a common issue on earlier models from what I have read in Adria owners groups. I think there will be a good display of models at the NEC. I will be at the show.. looking forward to it. Happy Motorhome shopping 😊👍
Thanks for getting back to me, wasn’t sure you would have done as the time between your post and me watching, thanks@@HereWeTow . Might see you there, be great to say hello.
So, we’ve ordered a Compact Supreme DL from the show. In our excitement and unusually we didn’t confirm how many plug sockets there were and where. Can you confirm for me please?
@davidbentley4099 Oh congratulations on ordering your new motorhome… off the top of my head I can’t tell you how many plug socket the DL has. There is one in the kitchen and one in the lounge area and one in the bedroom, from memory. I don’t know if I pointed them out in this review vlog of our DL. A good idea is to join the Adria Motorhome Owners page on Facebook, everyone is very helpful and someone with a DL will no doubt be happy to help. 😊 I hope you don’t have to wait too long for your new DL 🤩
Karina, love your review which we both just watched your vlog again some 12 months having first watched it. We have a 7m x 2.3m Burstner at the moment which we are now ready to change. In retrospect and having had the Coral as well, would you still recommend the Adria Compact. Mind you prices are now at £87k and cannot get one till next year.
Good morning Peter..that is a really good question and one Jules and I discuss quite a bit. As you know we are now back out in a 7.5 metre Matrix, same as the Coral but it has the drop down bed. We both agree the Compact was great for down in Somerset and Devon but now we are back touring in the north and midlands (where the roads seem generally wider) we would go back to the Coral/Matrix..or a Sonic obviously 🤷🏼♀️😂 We prefer the extra internal room that the length and width gives us. Once you go over six metres long then length doesnt really matter as you are going to have the same parking issues. Prices are very high now, I cant see them coming down as waiting lists are full and are up to 2 years now for certain models. Would I recommend Adria still..absolutely yes, others I would consider are Hymer and Burstner. The October show will be here in no time, maybe go have a look and see if you find something that makes you want to sit down and out the kettle on.. Have a lovely day 😊
Seems the red handle for waste water is a remote for a mechanical valve on the discharge pipe..surely this can easily be replace with an electrical valve and a button on the dashboard…..
I dont know if that can be done aftermarket Jan but I know the Sonic already has electric waste emptying so it is possible. Thank you for watching 😊 Karina
Great vlog. Shame Jules keeps hitting his head. Maybe time to add some foam beneath the cupboard to cushion the blow?? Kidding; it would reduce the space underneath even more 😂. The designers of the waste disposal clearly didn't load up the back before testing it. Really looking forward to the review of Motorhome Wifi and the few problems you had with the MH.
Funnily enough Jules did try that but its not ideal as you have the drop down the steps if you’re not careful 😬 Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment 😊 Karina
Great Review, have been hanging on waiting for this one before considering ordering our own 160 bhp Auto DL to get a real user experience. Didn't get our Adria DL quoted with Air Conditioning, as assumed (wrongly) that it would be in bedroom are as per the Adria 640 Twin Camper Vans and we didn't want to lose the roof light, so will definitely revisit this before ordering, as would be useful on those warm days & nights, especially for our 2 dogs. Do you happen to know how much extra weight this has added ? Keep up the gr8 reviews
Thanks Gerry, the DL has the Truma Comfort fitted and I think its about 28kg off the top of my head, dont forget the height too. It comes in through the roof as you saw. Personally, its been a but of a must have for us in the hot weather. Contact me if you have any questions..Karina 😊
Thank you for watching.. we didn’t make a vlog but they were only minor. There was some slight discolouration on a coloured panel inside, this was going to be changed under warranty. Above the sink a piece of wooden trim came away as one of the screws wasnt long enough so that was screwed back in with a longer screw. We had a DPF (diesel particle filter) warning light come on so it had to go back to Fiat for a new sensor, this was quite a common Fiat fault I believe. 😊👍😊
Absolutely love your reviews and we are really interested in the Compact DL. Silly question time, does it come with a retractable habitation step or does it not need one (as it looks as though the entrance step is quite low anyhow).
Hi Simon, it doesn’t but you can have a Thule step fitted. We dont have a problem stepping in to be honest but it depends how it feels for you. Thanks for watching 😊 Karina
Thanks for the review something we are considering now, we have a majestic 195 loving the rear lounge but now feel we need a garage space, looks lovely, and what make are the clothes bag something we will use thanks again
Does the electric in the compact run under the chaiss or is it between the floors, I noticed our 195 electric are exposed to the elements under vehicle wondering if all motorhome where like this, possibly time to change
Thanks Ivor, the front bed is 190x90 cm so it would be possible at 6ft but quite tight. You wouldn’t leave the headrests in like I did when I demonstrated it 😊 Karina
Love your reviews, very informative keep them coming. We currently own a Swift KonTiki 635 single axle which we love and is a brilliant van. but now looking to potentially change to the Coral Supreme Lounge. Having never owned an Adria what is the build quality like, are they comparable with the german equivalent models.
Adria build quality is very good and the Coral is a very nice Motorhome. Adria are holding launch events at dealer around the UK where you can view some of the models and layouts. That would give you a good idea of the general build quality. 😊 Karina
Thank you for a super informative video. Having recently spoken to you I hadn't realised you were an Adria owner! :) I can't seem to find your VLOG on the snagging / faults for your van. Can you please provide me with a link?
Thanks for watching Alan, we never got round to making the video but we had a slight discolouration on the wall panel as you came in the door. This was to be replaced under warranty. A screw came out of a piece of trim above the kitchen and the wood trim dropped down a few centimetres, this was screwed back in by the dealer. We had a dpf warning light come on and it went back to Fiat for this, apparently it was a faulty sensor which was a common Fiat problem at that time. I hope that helps 😊
Great review. We have just bought a Compact Plus SC which is also a 2021 model with a factory fitted solar panel. Have you considered fitting a second leisure battery? If the fridge uses 4amps/ hour a single battery would not last long on an overcast day.
Enjoy your SC…so far we haven’t had an issue with the battery and the fridge, on a night you can drop it to the night setting to save power if you want. Off gridding as we head in to winter would show how well that worked but in winter we generally use EHU so not something we would consider adding. Safe travels 😊 Karina
Hi Karina and Jules, Thanks for such a great and detailed review. We’re new to this, have been thinking about motorhomes and would like something that is spacious and can accommodate ebikes but is not too large, so really liking the Compact DL What fuel consumption MPG do you typically get ? How much approximately is insurance (just trying to picture our running costs) Is the payload enough for 2 people a dog and 2 ebikes, etc (like us) ? I assume the Compact doesn’t have a double floor, is it only A classes that have this ? Where does Fudge sleep!! ?
The Compact is a good choice for a crossover vehicle. The mpg is around 26 but it does use quite a bit of adblue when doing motorway miles. We have paid £450 insurance but with no “no claims”. Our Coral Motorhome was £350. There is plenty of floor space for a dog if you have one. The payload is certainly enough for us and the eBikes, even after taking away the extras we had fitted. Enjoy your Motorhome hunting 😊 Karina
Bedding? - Really enjoying your videos. We love the Adria. I have a question about bedding in your motorhome. It looks as if you have some sort of covered mat on top of the mattress and then sheets or a quilt on top. We are just looking at bedding now so your advice would be appreciated. Love the grey colour to your bedding by the way it suits the Adria's interior perfectly. Also fridge content updates are a keeper.
@@HereWeTow Thank you for your excellent review, we've ordered a similar spec van (added extra battery and bigger fridge) so you two should be on commission :-) Quick question, which width Duvalays did you order?
Great review. Have you tried looking at the rear view camera? I know on ours you can adjust the angle of the camera on the exterior so you can get a view further back. Like you, ours was only giving a very short view at the back of the van. Just a question, roughly how many miles do you get between Ad Blue top ups? We have not topped ours up yet on our new van and just wondered what your experience is.
Thanks Steve, I think it is the Fiat Screen that is the issue as opposed to the camera having looked at it 🤷🏼♀️ We topped up at 1600 miles when the warning came on and it took 13 litres to fill on the pump. I have read that the Fiat uses 7 litres per 1000km on motorway miles and 2.5 litres per 1000km on other roads. That would be about right as ours are mostly motorway miles. 😊 Karina
Great review and stunning van you’ve really fired me up to step out and change my life completely after a terrible few years. I’ve decided to sell up and buy the Adria Supreme SC with all the extras to call home on my new adventure around the UK and Ireland with an electric bike on board. I’ve got a few questions if you don’t mind? 1. What made you go for the Compact over the Matrix which is another stunner? 2. Is the Truma fan noisy and was the Alde alternative ever a consideration? Also I’ve read reviews which say Truma doesn’t heat up the shower room very well? 3. I think you said you were doing a blog on the Wi-fi will you also do one for your telly which looks a great system? 4. How tall is Jules? 5. Have you got a single sister? 😂 Thanks again and keep up the great work 👍 Kev
😂😂Thanks Kev,, you only live once. I would go Coral over Matrix and I wouldn’t need the drop down bed of the Matrix and you lost payload with it. Between Coral and Compact I would go Coral if I planned to spend more time in it due to it having more space. I love the SC layout. The heating isn’t noisey at all and works very well. We also have the Truma comfort air conditioning which does heat too. Jules is 6”1.I dont have a sister. 😂 Have a great week, Karina
Hi, just wondering how you're getting on with the Mobile Wi-Fi system? I'm looking and see three different setups offered via Hymer which is the van conversion we're looking at, really like yours though and the Adia Twin SGX, any help would be appreciated. They range from about £550 to £1,600.
Hi Andy, we are really pleased with the wifi. We went with the 5G Flex but I think for most users the 4G Flex would be a great choice. www.motorhomewifi.com/product-configurator/4g/4g-smart-flex/. This is the company we went with, our dealer fitted it and its the one they recommend too. Rhino installs do it too if you check their website. I think the price you have been quoted seems very high but it might depend on the dealer. The Hymer is a great choice and so is the Twin. Personally we love the DL as it is agile like a van but is a Motorhome inside. Get back to me if you have any questions, Karina 😊
Hi hope your keeping well. I was just reading through some of your old Vlogs and came across this. When you say you went for the 5G Flex was the the pro version? Cheers Shaun.
Thank you Ray 😊
Love your reviews. I'm in the market for a motorhome, and I've been blown away by the beguiling amount of options. I've been looking at burstner and cathargo models, but can't justify the hefty price tags. You really sell Adria, and this compact looks just like the ticket. Thanks so much for taking the time to review.
Thank you Simon..I hope you find the right Motorhome for you, there is so much choice out there. The Show in February at the NEC is a good place to go and look too. Take care, Karina 😊
I am 6 feet tall and I still like the high beds with the great storage underneath.
The design engineers for Adria are so on top of it.
How many feet high and wide is it from the floor? Would it fit in a garage?
Excellent and helpful round up. Interesting mobile home which I will certainly have a closer look at. These compact motorhome and indeed the van conversions make a lot of sense for 2 people on our roads.
Thnx for your very explaining video! Just what we needed to finish our decision making process...We just bought our Adria Compact DL...scheduled for delivery in november 2022...the hard waiting just began
Oh congratulations and roll on November 😊🎉
Enjoy both of you
Thanks Paul…love the DL 😊 Safe travels…
Hi Paul B, Ian and Liz Fox (alias flyingfox) here from SYDNEY Australia 🇦🇺. May I ask how long was your wait time? I’m trying to order a left hand drive Compact DL from ADRIA but no response. I’m wondering if they don’t deal direct or are closed down due to Covid? Very uncertain times!
@@flyingfox7252 hi. We waited around 4.5 months from order to collection
Your van is lovely, looking forward to the in-depth bits in your forthcoming vlogs, everyday a school day.
Thank you Colin, have a lovely week😊
I've been waiting for your vlog on the new motorhome and, I enjoyed it very much indeed. It was really well presented and covered most aspects. You made a great choice in going for the Adria.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank You Robert 😊
Was looking forward to this one (yay!) and it is a well balanced, realistic review. I really appreciate hearing about the items that are an issue as much as the things that are fantastic, it helps us to know what to keep in mind while we are looking for our first motorhome. There were things here that I’ve never even considered! Thanks for your excellent work 👍
Thank You Toni 😊
Absolutely brilliant review as always. It was balanced and informative and extremely professional. Thank you 😊
Thank you 😊
Brilliant! I was really interested in this van and seeing you move around in it has pretty much made my mind up!
😊👍
A short internal aluminum rack with shelves spaced properly for your items would solve your access problem splendidly.
An upper shelf for your ladder would hold it off of the other items and you could secure it to the frame with an elastic bungee.
That’s a beautiful Motorhome and good to hear how you find it in practice. Top review as always, Lou
Thanks Lou 😊
I enjoyed watching the Video. The best Motorhome you have both brought
Thanks Jamie..we love it..have a good week 😊 Karina
I have decided this is the van for us! Tha ks for a good brief on this van Karina 👏 👌
The Compact DL is absolutely excellent..yes there are compromises like all Motorhomes, but its an excellent touring vehicle. 😊 Have a lovely weekend, Karina
Great motorhome, thanks for your videos, I'm very much enjoying them.
Thank you 😊
Good cautionary information about not overloading the garage.
Thank you for watching 😊
Lovely motorhome and a great review guys, love the compact width of the van
Thanks Peter 😊
Thanks for taking the time to posting this, torn between the Coral or the Compact, very interesting video keep them coming 👍🚎
Thank You James, that is a tough decision to be fair. If I was getting a Coral I would up plate for the extra payload probably. The Coral will give you more internal space. All the best with your choice, Karina 😊
@@HereWeTow Thanks for the reply Katrina & thanks for the advice, now Subscribed, loving the videos keep them coming 🚐👍
Easy fix for the head cracker....
Move your pillow to the other end of the bed.
Good vid, well presented.
Great video. Very well thought out van in most parts
Thanks Ken 😊
Excellent review of your lovely new van 🥰 very well presented and edited too, it’s like watching a Motorhome programme on tv with professional journalism 😁 Also love how you went through and the good bits and things that you don’t like as much, very well balanced 🥰 Your new van is gorgeous and really well finished, enjoy your travels 😁
Thank you both..have a lovely week and happy travels 😊 Karina and Jules
Brilliant review, I didn't want it to end. Fantastic motorhome - green with envy. Thanks for sharing. Pauli in Bournemouth
Thank you thats very nice of you to take the time to leave a nice comment 😊 Karina
An absolute brilliant vlog loved seeing how the front bed went up haven't been able to see that anywhere else well done 👍
We missed out on a compact DL a few weeks ago as we were still trying to sell our autosleeper fairford but now with that sold new compact on order and yes 70k is the price, we have ordered the 160 bhp but manual thinking changing to automatic if we can afford it 😁
Congratulations on ordering your DL, we are loving ours, we just want to be away all the time. Thank you for watching, Karina and Jules 😊
Omg what a beautiful moho karina it's stunning happy travels 😀
Thank you 😊
Absolutely beautiful motorhome guys, many years of adventures :)
Thank you Tony, have a lovely weekend, Karina
Great presentation very professional, thank you 😊
Thank you
Very nice! The obvious fix for the Grey water draining issue, is keep the little Red handle in the Galley possibly, in the utensil draw perhaps? :-)
Thanks Peter, yes that could be a good suggestion 😊 Karina
I agree with you. The power cord connection should be on the other side.
A constant tripping hazard where it is.
Hi there,
Love your motor home reviews very professional and insightful as I’m considering purchasing one for my retirement next year .
Anyway enjoying your travel Vlogs and reviews
Best of luck on your travels and keep up the reviews
Best regards
Frank ( 65)
Thank you Frank and good luck with your Motorhome hunt..I hope you find the right one for you and the family. It might be worth hiring a 6 berth and seeing how you find it for size. Its better to find out if it works for you before you spend your money. All the best..Karina 😊
Brilliant in depth review. Love the new motorhome. Not sure I would fit in that shower though 😂. Appreciate all the content you give us. Keep up the good work. Happy and Safe travels
Thank you and have a lovely week 😊 Karina
Thankyou for the great review of your DL, lovely Motorhome, but all layouts are a compromise. Continue enjoying your journey's, Dave.
Thank you Dave..yes there is always a compromise 😊 Karina
Great video as always Karina, thanks again for your efforts 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you 😊
Many thanks and very much appreciated
Thank you for watching 😊
Excellent detailed review. 'Tis horses for courses, we prefer a rear lounge but a big fan of Adria, good quality vehicles. 🙂
Thank you Peter, Jules’s favourite layout is a rear lounge Burstner Motorhome. 😊
Çracking review, and a lovely van! Get out there and enjoy it!
Thank you Stephen 😊
Fantastic review and a gorgeous 😍 van 👏 👌 👍 🍾
Thank you 😊
Thank you. All the best.👍
Liking the van, great review. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you 😊
Brilliant video thanks you two
Thank you 😊
Interesting to find your channel after our visit to the nec show yesterday (Feb 2024).
Well done Karina 👍🍀
Thank you Norbert 😊
Great review xx Jules u should sleep the other way around I'm sure carina would not mind waking up 2 your feet lol xx I like the green cushions xx
😂😂 He did try it and it didn’t work very well…thank you for watching, Karina
Aww bless Karina xx
That was an excellent review 👏 👌 👍
and Jules of course good camera work . 👍
I totally get what your saying about some of the design features because looking around I get frustrated with some of the vans we really like and then finding features we don't like !! Sometimes it's hard to compromise but that's what we will have to do. ☹
Your Motorhome is stunning and a really good choice. We would love to buy one like yours but I have to buy something that I can fit on my drive ☹.
We'll get there one day 🤩🙏
Thank you Andy and I hope you do find the right one for you 😊 Karina
"Apart from Jules" Good save.
I know…😂 Thanks for watching, Karina
Very informative vlog. Have you considered sleeping the other way round? may need extra reading lights. Staysafe.
Asking as you’ve got one, had one, might like one😀
Thanks and keep up the excellent work, if only all reviews were so balanced and well presented.
😊👍 Karina
@@HereWeTow Thanks Karina, will look forward to the Sonic review. To much to think about😀
Great Review again,we are looking at a Adria first timers so diving in at the deep end,do any of these models come with self levelling at all?
Take Fireball Junior 😉
Bravo Adria
I would suggest sleeping the other way round if that's possible and would suggest putting a plastic slide valve or tap on the end of the waste pipe and leave red handle valve in the garage in the open position
Thanks Wayne he did try the other way round but it felt a bit weird..thank you for watching and have a lovely week 😊 Karina
Love your motorhome
Thank you Austin
Hi.
Great van, been thinking of one of these with the extras you have, did you ever get around to put it on the weigh bridge?
No not yet as our local one was closed at Wellington and so we haven’t had chance…Karina 😊
😊 Karina
A very comprehensive tour, professional and concise. One question, does the compressor fridge hum or buzz? Thanks Karina.
Thanks Keith, I would say there is a hum when it kicks in, once it reaches temperature it clicks off again. It makes more noise than a standard adsorption fridge freezer in comparison to what we have had before.😊 Karina
@@HereWeTow ah. I did wonder because they use absorption fridges in hotel bedrooms I think. A lovely vehicle. Thanks
best review we have ever watched. Does it have 4 belted seats though?
Thank you for watching, yes it does have four travel seats 👍
Very late reply, but that wash bowl does swivel to make it fully accessible for washing one’s face.
Great review , the main roof window, it does come with a black out blind I guess ?
Thank you David, and yes it does 😊
Thanks for lovely video. Is that not a sun screen for the sunroof hiding behind that "compact " logo? That would reduce that 44° heat inside the motorhome. God bless!!
Thank you, yes there is a blind and I do use it, I forgot to mention it in the review 😐 Have a lovely week and thank you for watching 😊 Karina
Thank you for the review…..a great van! Unfortunately you did not show how to convert the seats to make the 2 travel seats. Any chance you can do that at some stage? Thanks
Thanks Rose, someone has asked about that and I will 😊
Thank you for your thorough review its so helpful to have one from a new owner and especially so at the moment when getting to look inside one is so difficult!
Thanks Richard, he did try the other way round but he felt a bit upside down in bed 😂 Have a lovely week, Karina
My 9 year old wants to do a video review 'like on UA-cam' , so you may see that some time soon 😁
I'm hoping these fixes are very minor, considering the short time you've had it, but great that your dealer is sorting it so quickly 👍🏼 Great review Karina (and Jules for the camera work of course!).
Thank You 😊
We have a Bürstner with the 140Bhp and the 9 speed ZF auto box like you. It's a great transmission box, with seamless changes up and down. Well worth the extra cost and additional weight. I think ZF make the best auto boxes - also used in BMWs!
Yes the auto box is excellent, we are really pleased we chose it. Enjoy your Burstner, thats a great manufacturer 😊 Karina
@@HereWeTow Thanks Karina - ours is a Lyseo 690G, which is new to us as well and with a similar layout to yours so fascinating to compare. A few additional thoughts/questions please:
* I like your kitchen workspace: slightly more room than ours, so we tend to prep on the table.
Hi
Picking our new compact DL up on the 14th of Dec after a 16 month wait so excited to start our travels again, just watched your video again maybe for the 40th time😂, just wondering what your three faults were on van is it something to worry about, writing out my check list 😊.
How are you two getting on really miss watching you, maybe you should of done a renovation video on the house hee hee my we are nosey 🤭
Fae Eddie and Maggie (Scotland)
All is well I have located a brand new LHD Motorhome in France that will meet our needs.
That is fantastic news!, enjoy your travels 😊
Love it ❤️
Very professional talk, Well done :-).
@@HereWeTow Thanks for that, sounds good. Happy motorhoming. 😉
Super excellent review..I want one
Thank you for watching Keith 😊
Thanks Trevor, I haven’t even noticed them but I am glad you found a solution. The carbon ones sound good 😊 Karina
I have this problem with my Ducato based van, could you let me have a link for these please?
😂Thank you and those vlogs will be coming soon, Karina 😊
Really good. Thank you,
Thank you for watching 😊
Has Jules tried sleeping the other way round head on the toilet side ,I had to it in my caravan
He has and it was better than banging his head 👍😊
sleep the other way round?
Hi
Great review. What were the issues you had with the van? Did you make a video on the issues?
Steve
Thank you for watching 😊 Karina
Does the electric in the compact run under the chaiss or is it between the floors, I noticed our 195 electric are exposed to the elements under vehicle wondering if all motorhome where like this, possibly time to change
Didn't see the other ends of beds, but might it be better to sleep with heads at the other ends ie to avoid hitting them?
Great review - thank you! I wondered if you could let me know the dimensions of the front bed? Would it take a 6 footer?
Thanks Ivor, the front bed is 190x90 cm so it would be possible at 6ft but quite tight. You wouldn’t leave the headrests in like I did when I demonstrated it 😊 Karina
@@HereWeTow Many thanks Karina for your prompt response - very helpful
Love your reviews, very informative keep them coming. We currently own a Swift KonTiki 635 single axle which we love and is a brilliant van. but now looking to potentially change to the Coral Supreme Lounge. Having never owned an Adria what is the build quality like, are they comparable with the german equivalent models.
Adria build quality is very good and the Coral is a very nice Motorhome. Adria are holding launch events at dealer around the UK where you can view some of the models and layouts. That would give you a good idea of the general build quality. 😊 Karina
Karina,
Thank you very much, we are nipping down to Brownhills a week tomorrow to have a look
Oh brilliant 🤩
@@HereWeTow Thank you. ❤
Great review, lovely van, would it be possible to sleep the other way round to protect your head?.
Thanks for watching, he did try that but it felt a bit upside down 😊 I am sure Jules will work it out..have a lovely week, Karina
YOU LOST ME AT THE REAR GARAGE CARRY CAPACITY! . . . ALTHOUGH I LOVE THE ANDRIAS THIS IS A KILLER FOR ME ! ... I WISH IT HAD AN ISLAND BED VERSION
Thank you, they do have the Compact SC with an island bed but you do lose some of the lounge space which is the compromise. 😊 Karina
@@HereWeTow - THANK YOU ... GOING HUNTING ... ON MY WAY .. T/Y M . . .
Superb review ,
Thank you Graham
Great review. We have just bought a Compact Plus SC which is also a 2021 model with a factory fitted solar panel.
Have you considered fitting a second leisure battery? If the fridge uses 4amps/ hour a single battery would not last long on an overcast day.
Enjoy your SC…so far we haven’t had an issue with the battery and the fridge, on a night you can drop it to the night setting to save power if you want. Off gridding as we head in to winter would show how well that worked but in winter we generally use EHU so not something we would consider adding. Safe travels 😊 Karina
Hi Karina and Jules,
Thanks for such a great and detailed review. We’re new to this, have been thinking about motorhomes and would like something that is spacious and can accommodate ebikes but is not too large, so really liking the Compact DL
What fuel consumption MPG do you typically get ?
How much approximately is insurance (just trying to picture our running costs)
Is the payload enough for 2 people a dog and 2 ebikes, etc (like us) ?
Thank you and those are from Duvalay…a huge recommendation on those! 😊
😊 Karina
@@HereWeTow Thanks for the advice, good luck with the new van 😀
I absolutely love your content. Can I ask why you went for the DL over the SC please?
Thank you..we went for it because I preferred the lounge layout but I did miss the island bed. 😊
Thanks again and keep up the great work 👍 Kev
😂😂Thanks Kev,, you only live once. I would go Coral over Matrix and I wouldn’t need the drop down bed of the Matrix and you lost payload with it. Between Coral and Compact I would go Coral if I planned to spend more time in it due to it having more space. I love the SC layout. The heating isn’t noisey at all and works very well. We also have the Truma comfort air conditioning which does heat too. Jules is 6”1.I dont have a sister. 😂 Have a great week, Karina
@@HereWeTow Thanks Karina I’ll look at the Coral shame about no sister 🤣👍
😂😊
@@HereWeTow Thanks Karina
Hi hope your keeping well. I was just reading through some of your old Vlogs and came across this. When you say you went for
the 5G Flex was the the pro version?
Cheers
Shaun.
