- Kidney stone recurrence can be reduced by following diet and lifestyle changes.
Unfortunately kidney stone formation cannot be completely prevented because kidney stones are formed because of inherent deficiencies of metabolism in the body.
These deficiencies can be due to
- Increased calcium absorption by the intestine
- Increased resumption of calcium from the bones
- Excessive secretion of calcium in the urine
- Improper oxalate metabolism
- Lack of inhibitor situation in urine
- Unusual medicine intake
- Improper Uric acid metabolism
To prevent the stone formation we need to understand what is the exact mechanism by which the stone is forming and for the same we have to check either the stone for its composition or go for various tests of blood and urine.
Based on the results of these tests we can follow certain diet patterns which can reduce the metabolic load on the body and helps in preventing the recurrence of the kidney stones at least for some years. - मूत्र में कैल्शियम का अत्यधिक स्राव होना
- अनुचित ऑक्सालेट चयापचय
- मूत्र में अवरोधक की स्थिति का अभाव
- असामान्य दवा का सेवन
- अनुचित यूरिक एसिड चयापचय
स्टोन बनने से रोकने के लिए हमें यह समझने की जरूरत है कि स्टोन बनने का सही तंत्र क्या है और इसके लिए हमें या तो स्टोन की संरचना की जांच करनी होगी या रक्त और मूत्र के विभिन्न परीक्षणों के लिए जाना होगा।

Hello Doctor. I am having 16.5 mm stone in renal pelvis right kidney. Which among ESWL, RIRS, PCNL is suitable and safe ?
All are suitable
I’ll opt for ESWL first else RIRS
@@Urocentre Sir, I wasn't aware of the fact that ESWL can be done too for stones above 15mm. So , I opted for RIRS. Planned date of surgery is 26th January. Doctor has done DJ Stenting yesterday and has asked me to come after 3 weeks on 26th Jan.
But looking at your response, I want to for ESWL from your hospital. Can ESWL be done now with a stent already placed?
